Who Uses All Their Joe Figures?

There are so MANY figures and versions of characters now. Snake Eyes has 16 versions! Shipwreck has 8, etc.

So, which version do people use as the "official" version of the character and what do they do with all the OTHER versions?

Me, I use the version I like the most of the character (usually the most current version). As for the others, I make up new characters for them.

For example, Dusty (v3) is now a new G.I. Joe named Scorpion, a Desert Wildlife Specialist. Stalker (v6/Stars and Stripes) is now Backtrack, a Green Beret.

Of course, some figures are too similar. Gung-Ho, versions 3, 4 and 7 are all the same mold, so they are the same person - Brawn, a Marine.

All the versions of Destro that I have are now Destro's ELITE bodyguard impersonators. Trained to impersonate Destro himself, should the need arise. A similar case for all the Cobra Commanders.

Of course, some I do not have ANY idea what to do with them, such as the 3 versions of Snake Eyes I have left over (thinking of making them Ninja Force characters like Dojo and Bushido) or Tiger Force Recondo.

I use only jvc, and i do use some extra for customs but i like to have the most current or the my fav as the character. I don't use everybody, many of my joes are staitioned elsewhere (torpedo, wet-suit, and depthcharge in one place, dusty, hd, and spearhead in another)

It is really simple, I have a several large Rubbermaid tubs that are used to store figures and vehicles.

I have almost everything set up right now. Many figures have not and seldom will be released from the Zip-lock baggies as they are entombed in the Rubbermaid.

For Snake-Eyes, I only use the 1985 version.

For a character like Dusty, I use the 1985 version and the 1991 version because they look like different characters.

For Flint, I use the 1985 and 1993 versions for the same reason as Dusty. Tigerforce and Nightforce are different - they do not get used. The same goes for Shipwreck, Stalker, Roadblock, Law, Shockwave, Beach-Head and many others.

Then there are my U.S.S. Flagg and two G.I.Joe bases (1983). My aircraft carrier has four Ace (1983) figures, five Shipwrecks (1985), several Tripwires (1983), Barbeques (1985) and many SCUBA divers -Wetsuit (1985 and 1992) and Wetsuit repaints - aboard. Dialtone (1986) and Mainframe (1986) sit where ever there is a computer terminal. I also have extra Dial Tones and Mainframes for the Battlefield.

For Cobra, this is not so cut and dry.

For, Zartan, I use the 1984 version.

For Ripper, I use the Real American Hero and G.I.Joe versus Cobra versions where one is Ripper and the second and third are other Dreadnoks.

1992 Firefly never sees daylight. Crimson Guard Commanders (1993) and Ninja Force Night Creepers (1993) never will either.

Basically, figures that I like get used. Figures that I dislike stay in storage.

Okay, maybe that was not simple. I do what I like. Questions?
