Saga Jabba The Hutt Figure

Galactic Hunter has this pic of what they say is the upcoming new Jabba figure, but it looks to me like a bad photoshop job if you ask me.

You're right Decepticon...we'll know soon enough if that's the real deal or a fake. I hope it's a fake because I don't like it too much. If it is the real thing, then at least I hope they make it out of a harder plastic than the original Jabba glob.

As stated, it could just be a mock-up or prototype to display what it'll eventually look like. And even if that is the close to final version, it's definitely the best looking Jabba since the original from the 80s. The hookah, chubba bowl & railing are definitely new & look to be amazing.

The railing may be new but the cubba thing looks like the one the orginal had and if indeed this is just a Jabba Glob version retooled then I will be pretty disapointed. At the very least they should just re-release the orginal version which is by far the best version to date but to be honest I think Hasbro should take the time to actually make a new sculpt and give it some real detail. The Hutt deserves no less IMO.

It does fit the description from the Galactichunter QnA w/ Hasbro:

The upcoming Deluxe Jabba the Hutt will not have all new toolings, but "it will be more ROTJ movie accurate, including new and improved deco. The gangster slug will have a new head and an older torso with a tail that hooks around. A hooka pipe, chubbas, and railing from his throne are included. Jabba also has a movable tongue which can be taken out and replaced with the pipe."

I passed on the Jabba Glob; but, I like what I see so far (as far as paint deco).

Personally, I might've liked a few more extras (dais, 'sitting' Salacious Crumb,etc...), but, since I have a vintage dais, I'm pretty sastisfied. Who knows, may be there'll be 'add-ons' sometime in the future...

That has to be one of the worst photos I've seen in a long time. Geez,with all the new camera technology,you would think they would be able to take a better picture than that. @rolleye@

While I'm glad to see something (thanx GH ), it is unfortunate the pic is so fuzzy. (maybe he had to sneak/rush the shot?)

 

Does anybody remember when the last Insider showed up; or know when the next one is due? What is the latest issue #? I believe 71 is supposed to have the pic

The thing about the "new" head is that it isn't a new head, it's the same head as the Jabba glob one, with the possibility of an added tongue (although I can't see it from that picture). Hopefully,it's a mock-up...I do like the apparent color of the fig.

The latest issue is # 70 with Ray Park as Darth Maul on the cover. It came out this month so 71 should see print in November I think.

Scott - As far as I know, there'll be a new Jabba's Palace Luke with lightsaber, blaster and cloth cloak. Rappertunie(the little thing in the pot in The Max Rebo Band), and an R2-D2 with drinks tray.

Bib Fortuna and Jabba's Palace 3PO have been rumoured/speculated too.

I'm going to have to wait and see a better picture of this before I decide if I really want it or not. The Glob one is fine as far as I'm concerned so I would only get it for the bowl/railing. I'll get it someday, but if the throne isn't released in some way I won't be getting this any time soon.

 

Rappertunie is the only one that has been announced so far for the "Jabba's Palace" wave. The Luke and R2 are in the "Tatooine" wave (with the R1 Droid). Along with Bib and 3PO, a Weequay (no one knows which one) has been mentioned as a possibility too.

I dont get the magazine but hopefully some good pictures will show up online soon. We really need a Jabba's Throne Room Playset to be released this year to go with this figure.

According to reports on various sites, the new Insider is beginning to show up; unfortunately, legal issues will most likely prevent any sites from posting any pics until Hasbro releases 'official' ones.

I wonder if Hasbro might be planning to release the dias in divided parts with the other Jabba's palace figure (say with Bib Fortuna and Weequay). That would be a very cool idea and a nice way to keep the collectors happy. Actually, those are probably the two main reasons why they wont do it

I'm going to take back what I said in the other thread about this figure...I am so happy with the detail this figure's face has that I'll buy it as soon as I see it!! BTW, the tongue is removable and you can place the hookah pipe in its stead. What do you guys think now?
