Ive been watching the show and, man, that series rocks! Im seeing some toys of that series and let me tell you, as a collector, there is no toy that can beat those St. Seiya action figures. Die cast, show accurate, hell of articulation, very true to their characters, a superb storyline and the list go on. Because this is a toy site take a look to those wonderful pieces of art (I cant call them just "toys")

Since I live here in the U.S. I could only hear about St. Seiya from one of my very close friends who is from Mexico. She would tell me so much about St. Seiya since she grew up with it. It sounded so awesome so I wanted to see it. When I found out it was coming out on CN two things came into my mind. One was that it would finally be released on DVD here in America. The second is that it would be butchered on tv. So I'm going to have to wait for the DVDs or buy a HK set, whichever I end up doing first.

Hey guys, I'm from Peru originally, and I've been a fan of the series since the first time it was aired down there in 1993. By 1994 or 1995 the first set of figures began arriving and I must say they were a big disappointment. Yes the figures shown in this webpage are the ones I'm referring to. Although the figures do sport tons of articulation, the plastic used is cheap and poses don't hold that well. Furthermore, the figures' feet are made from a heavy metal so kicking stances do not hold very well. I'd recommend anyone intereted in this toy line to simply wait for the new Bandai figs coming out in North America within the next year...the Seiya figure that's been previewed here in TNI looks so much better IMHO to the one pictured in this french webpage.

The cartoon series is still one of the coolest I've ever seen. However, the toys were a huge disappointment to me.

Thanks Nash!! I was seeing that picture and I noticed the armor is now covering the whole body, not only the front. If they make it diecast, this will be the best seiya figure ever! @bounce@ Anyway I found a picture I think its Shiro the Dragon.

Hey rodimusconvoy21, thanks for the link :) I had not seen the Shiro figure and I must say I am very impressed with it. I will definetly be picking up the two figures shown so far (and hopefully, all the other ones if they are as nicely done).

Thanks again

Hey Kaneda, I checked out the page you linked and I found a very nice picture of Seiya that is in the other version of the Pegasus armor (the one with the tiara-like headpiece, rather than the helmeted version). Thanks for the link.

I just got all 12 gold zodiac armor + 5 bronze armor Aandai Asia reissue today! And from what I heard, they be reissuing all the ocean armor next time. Also Bandai Asia has already released the 6 Hades armor. Plus since Bandai Japan already reissue the 12 gold armor a couple years ago, so they won't be remaking the 12 gold armors. But they are releasing a new Pegasus figure around end of Sept or beginning of Oct.. it's a much more show accurate Seiya, and next will be the dragon dude.

Well I have seen the show when I was a kid in HK. Anyway I like the show more than dragonball.. since the fight scenes takes 1 to 2 episodes while dragonball takes forever to finish one fight... But if you have a chance to pick up the comics, read the comics instead.

Where did you get those figures from? Im after those and the only thing ive found are those italian reissues that are going almost the same price of the japanesse and theyre not even Bandai's. I was able to find a place to get the Hades Saints but I do want to get the original gold Saints.

Here's a link to see the new 12 Gold Armors by Bandai Asia, I got all 12 around $1200 HKD, but since Japan won't be releasing, I heard the prices are around $1800 HKD now.

http://toyhero.net/saint/saint_godaikin1.htm

They did a little change to the Gold Armors, supposingly these are more show accurate.

Here's a link to the original 5 Bronze Armors by Bandai Asia. I got them around $500 HKD.

http://toyhero.net/saint/saint_godaikin2.htm

If I recall correctly, during the fights against the 12 Gold Armors, the 5 Bronze Armors are almost dead, so the Gold Sheep Armor (a good guy) fixed their armors to become the new Bronze Armors.

Here's a link to the Hades Armors by Bandai Asia. I didn't buy this set because their leg armors are plastic, they cost around $800 HKD if I recall correctly. Bandai Japan will be releasing the same figure but hopefully will change the plastic armor to diecast. i think the pricing is either 23000 or 28000 yen, VERY EXPENSIVE compare to Bandai Asia.

http://toyhero.net/saint/saint_godaikin3.htm

Anyway for the 12 Gold Armor, I guess your best chance will be on eBay or Yahoo HK.. I can check for you in Yahoo HK if you want. I just checked eBay, some guy is selling them seperately.

There are the only 2 auctions with the whole set.

All 12 Gold Armor Yahoo HK auctions

http://hk.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/aucti...35?aucview=0x23

All 12 Gold Armor + 5 Bronze Armor Yahoo HK auctions

http://hk.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/aucti...74?aucview=0x23

I think my local hobby shop have a set too, if you want I will ask him for pricing and you can deal with him yourself, since he does eBay auctions as well.

I will wait for the Hades saints. Ive heard about some italian reissues, do you know about those?

I didn't hear anything regarding the italian reissues, but I know that some company in europe also got the copyright of saint seiya, and from what I heard, they are doing new mold and new figures that were never produced.. mostly are the teachers of the 5 bronze fighters.. such as the diamond armor guy who taught the bronze swam, and the guy who taught the girly green hair dude... and I think there's Hades himself too, I will try to look for some pix because I remember seeing them before. Anyway if you need the 12 gold armors, lmk.

I've watched a couple of episodes now and I tell you, I hate that they used the old Flock of Seagulls song as the opening theme.

Not only that, but the voice overs are horrid. Animation kinda sucks too, but I know it's an older series, so that's forgivable.

I do wanna get the reissues of the gold saint. and the bronze saint as well, but I need to know the prices in dollar. Now, the italian reissue of the bronze/gold Saint is highly trashed by mexican people that own them because they say that some armors dont fit in the character, bad paintjobs and some other things. And pricing each at least at 25.00 americans, I dont wan to take the risk. Thats why I preffer the reissues and the Hades clothes (Im planning ordering them of hlj.com when they are out) and the new jappanesse designed Pegasus, and the others will be a pain to get them. But dont get me wrong, those are masterpieces.

  • 3 weeks later...

I just heard this from another board, "there seems to be problem with the upcoming Bandai Japan Hades figures (some issue regarding the safety standard not meeting requirement), so Bandai dropped the line right now." So if you really want to get the figures... you either wait since the price of HK Hades are going up again due to the news and see if Bandai Japan will make one or buy the HK Hades now because price will go beyond imagination if Bandai Japan banned the production of the Hades.
