SD Gundam

So... I finally got to see this show today..

 

 

 

What the cribbity crap was that? The cell shading was nice.. but that was about it.. I'm no fan of Super Deformed stuff, so this whole show just doesn't work for me.. that and it's just so dumbed down.. I didn't like it at all.

Yep. Both the Zakus and the Gouf were in the episode I saw.

I'm kinda mixed on it. It definitely has been well-animated with the cel-shaded CGI, but overall the chibi-mecha doesn't quite look like what I expect Gundam to be,

I haven't had the time to watch it yet, but I've heard lots of bad things about it.

 

It's sad to hear really, especially if you see the SD Gundam episodes that were made in the late 80's. Those were friggin' hilarous. It catered to the real fans, throwing out the geekish in-jokes left and right.

don't knock the original Japanese SD Gundam series. Those were hilarious. I haven't seen the CN one, but ppl who previewed it at Otakon said it just stunk. The CN one is completely US made so they can profit off the old Japanese SD Gundam merchandise line.

In the Japanese version SD stands for "Super-deformed," but in the US version it stands for "Superior Defender." I guess Bandai is still not giving American audiences much intellectual credit in thinking we either can't accept or can't understand the meaning of SD.

I actually like SD Gundam Force, especially the "ZakoZako Hour."

I watched it again and have decieded WHY it sucks. Just like Transformers: Armada (which eventually turned into a decent show), the freakin' kids are pointless, and not needed.

The Gundam Series 0080-0083 was the best. Gundam Wing was nothing compared to it. Go and watch the 08th MS team and Operational Stardust 0083 and then say which is better.

I've seen all three and Wing is still my favorite. SD is the worst followed closely by G Gundam.
