Totally Die-Cast Repro? (concept)

SideTracker

Recommended Posts

What if someone, even someone other than Hasbro or Takara, did a reproduction or re-issue of a Transformers toy - any toy - in 99% die cast? Obviously some things can't be die-cast metal...

* the windows, if they have to be clear

* tires should stay either rubber or if they were plastic originally, plastic

* pieces designed to latch into other pieces due to the flexibility of plastic

* missiles should definitely stay plastic

Other than that, how would a completely metal, say, G1 Prime go over? Expensive, maybe...

Even without the rights it would be expensive since someone could only make small quantities of it, which in turn would drive up the price. A mass-producing bootlegger could easily make them very cheap in die-cast, but bootleggers of that type prefer to make money by making their stuff as cheaply as possible.
