actually if you're referring to Eartha Kit from the 60's Batman series, i believe she was actually the second Catwoman. the original being Julie Newmar.

Yea but Eartha Kit, did better atleast I think so. I hardly remember Julie Newmar as Catwoman.

Let's not forget Lee Meriwether from the Batman movie. :wink: (I tried to find a timeline but didn't have much luck; I think the movie was after the series ended?)

I was checking out imdb, and I noticed the only time they've used her 'correct' name (Selina Kyle) is in Batman Returns and the recent animated series. Did the Golden Age or 'pre-Crisis' versions have different names?

All the episode's i've seen had Eartha Kit in them. Then again I didn't watch all the episode's I could not stand Adam West's acting.

Let's face it...Eartha Kttt was only in a few episodes butis probably the best known Catwoman due to her "trademark" purrr! I love her and think she is fantastic! My next favorite was Julie Newmar...just because she was Julie Newmar! Lee Meriwether never really did anything for me.

 

As far as Halle Berry goes...we are going ot have ot wait and see. It wil probably do well, just because of thedraw of her name, but I think she is versatile enough to pull this off. I had heard ashley Judd was up for the part at one point and I thought that to be an interesting choice....but I really wish they would have played on the Catwoman theme after Batman Returns and let Michelle Pfiefer (sp?) do it. IMO I felt she did a great job redefining Catwoman
