Could he be unstoppable?

My friend and I usually have discussions about Marvel characters, but his favorite D.C. hero is Green Lantern (Kyle). We sorta got into it about him. He said If GL never made any mistakes and was careful he would be unstoppable and could defeat anyone because of his ring and being able to do many things a one time. He said the only reason he isn't unstoppable is that they make him make mistakes in the comics. I said he wouldn't be invincible, and we really didn't find an agreement.

 

So what do any of you think about this?

Well, it seems to me that his statement could really apply to just about anyone. Everyone on earth could be unstoppable if they never made a mistake. Would anyone be able to stop a regualr person from reining terror or fighting evil if he was perfect. Dodged every punch, knew when to back down and when to charge. The fact is anyone could be unstoppable if they were perfect, but they aren't.

Yeah, except, Kyle doesn't have to worry about yellow, wood, or recharging his ring. When he does recharge it, it's only because he wants to. So Kyle is pretty much invinsible.

Wasn't this covered not that long ago? The time Kyle was running around in that mostly white outfit. I thought he was suppose to be god-like.

He was like a god but he gave that power away to re-ignite OA and start a new generations of guardians. Kyle (or any Green Lantern) are as strong as their willpower will allow. But if something could break that willpower or concentration, he could be beaten. It happens from time to time. Mostly in the JLA books.

I always thought Kyle's weakness is himself...as he is easily distracted and breaks his concentration rather easily. I'm pretty sure that's what Ra's used from Batman's files to take him down.

I like Kyle's inperfections. Just like any other guy, he makes mistakes and it gives a human side to the hero behind the mask.

The other lanterns may have been strong, but kyle is the strongest one ever. His only problem is that he is his own worst enemy. He gets easily distracted and makes a few dumb mistakes here and there. With a few years to mature and gain experience, he would be THE force to reckon with. Kyle, with a flauless performance, could beat anyone else in the D.C. universe.

no one is perfect everyone makes mistakes but Kyle has made his ring have no weaknesses. he had no limit except himself.

sorry, but im afraid that with a flawless preformance, batgirl couldn't beat thanos, apocalypse, wolvy, namor.....

If the character performed flawlessly, they would have planned flawlessly. If batgirl performed flawlessly, her abilities as a leet ninja girl would overpower her opponent. If she performed flawlessly, she would have something to counteract everything.

 

Example- she would know that Wolvie is made of metal, and do something, like knowing to trap him with a huge magnet on the floor to hold him in place.

 

Then she could just wrap him in adamantium bat-line, and beat the heel out of him.

 

Im not familiar enough with the characters, but being a member of the Bat-Clan- Bat-girl would be.

 

The final point is flawless- undefeatable. You have planned for everything, you ar peak physical condition, you know all of your opponents' weakness and how to exploit them, and you WIN.

Thats hardly a 'fight'. You could beat tons of people if you completely blind-sided them.

 

Example- if you jabbed a kryptonite knife into Superman's neck while he was asleep, the guy that killed Uncle Ben could kill the man of steel.

 

Im not trying to start a flame war or anything. Im just reminding everyone that flawless means without mistakes. IF you dont make ANY mistakes, you cant lose. Have you ever heard of someone losing flawlessly?

Well, if that happened, then she wouldn't have performed "flawlessly"... :roll: :wink:

I might add that you can perform flawless up until you run into impossibility. Batgirl is not going to beat the Silver Surfer in a one on one fight, because a perfect performance is impossible.
