I used to have the 8" Mego figures and later the Playmates figures--and wished fondly that they'd have a playset to call their own.

 

The Mego's had this awful faux bridge playset that bore no resemblance to the real set.

 

Playmates would obviously never attempt a playset of the size required for the 8" line--its size and cost would be far too prohibitve.

 

But you can find one.

 

Sort of.........kind of.........

 

 

If you've ever dug deep into a good comic book store, or gone to a Trek convention ( or similar) you probably have come across a set of TOS Bridge blueprints.

I had these for a while--traded them off years ago though- and while I had them I did a pretty thorough comparison with the Mego figures.

IIRC, the blueprints , at their printed size, were a PERFECT match for the figures--in that you could use them as a template to build a in-scale model of the bridge.

The blueprints came with every bridge station, every console panel--and drawn by a real draftsman, probably worked as well as "genuine" blueprints would.

 

Even if they plans are not 100% scale as is they can be blown up a small percentage and used regardless.

 

The neat thing is that, given the size, anyone with some modeling and electronics skills can make a near functional mock-up of the bridge--perhaps even with sound and a working viewscreen.

 

Just thought I'd throw this one out for all.
