WWE RAW Results

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler

The show opened up with footage, recapping the storyline with The Big Red Machine and the removal of his mask and the events that took place at the end of RAW last week when Kane choke slammed General Manager Eric Bischoff off the stage.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the Co General Manager of RAW! The fans gave Stone Cold a tremendous ovation and Austin thanked the fans, saying it's good to be back here on Monday Night RAW. Last week, he had a little time off with a little bit of food poisoning and his idea of having fun isn't having food poisoning. Austin talked about his bout with food poisoning and how he saw Eric Bischoff being choke slammed straight to hell. That made him feel good and seeing how Bischoff is a little laid up, he won't be here tonight so that means it's Stone Cold Steve Austin's show! We're right here in Montreal and there's a referee in the ring, so that means there's going to be a match. This isn't just any match, this is an Intercontinental Title match.

WWE Intercontinental Championship

-Christian © vs. Booker T

Booker T's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the challenger for the Intercontinental Championship against the defending Champion, Christian!

Before Christian got in the ring, he said that he's got something to say and he's going to say this very slowly so everybody can understand. You see, he is better than Booker T. Christian has nothing left to prove to Booker or any of his peeps, but since Booker wants to beat him so badly, tell the referee to start counting right now because he's out of here. Stone Cold told the referee not to start counting because this is a special match with special rules. The title can change hands if there is a disqualification or a count out, so now he can start counting! The referee started counting and Christian said that the match isn't official until he's in the ring. This time, he is out of here. Austin agreed with that and he approached Christian, telling him to pick up the mic he dropped.

With that, Austin grabbed Christian and quickly rolled him into the ring where Booker T was standing. Booker T attacked Christian with a number of right hands and stomps against the ropes to officially start it off.

Booker T nailed Christian with the scissors kick and then he pinned Christian for the three count but Christian's foot was on the bottom rope. The referee later realized that and reversed his decision, forcing the match to resume.

Booker T planted Christian with the Book End and then he covered him but was only able to get a two count.

Booker T climbed to the top rope and it looked as if he was going to go for a missile drop kick but Christian knocked him down and gave him a right hand as he straddled the top turnbuckle. Christian then went for a super plex but Booker countered it, sending Christian down to the mat, face first. Booker then came off the top rope with the missile drop kick and then he pinned Christian but was only able to get a two count.

Booker went for a kick but Christian pulled the referee in front of him and Booker stopped short and then Christian hit Booker with a low blow and then a roll up for a two count.

Christian then brought the Intercontinental Title in the ring and went to hit Booker with it but Booker ducked it and then he hit Christian with the scissors kick and pinned him for the three count to win the Intercontinental Championship!

Booker T celebrated his win in an emotional moment for the five time, five time, five time, five time, five time and now one time Intercontinental Champion!

Stone Cold was shown with Mark Jindrak and Austin told him that one of these days, this could be him. As the two were chattering, Nick Patrick showed up and told Austin that he has to come quick and he and Austin went running through the backstage area as RAW went to a commercial break.

Coming off the break, Bubba Ray and Spike Dudley were shown hovering over Tommy Dreamer, who was down and out and bloodied up. Austin pulled Bubba up and told him to get out of the room because they had to work on Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer didn't seem to be breathing as they had to get some oxygen for him.

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talked about the history of some controversy in this very arena and one of the most controversial events has been Bret "The Hitman" Hart against Shawn Michaels in the infamous Montreal screw job. Later tonight, Shawn Michaels has agreed to be a part of the Highlight Reel to discuss that very night.

Theodore Long led Rosey and Rodney Mack out to the ring and Theodore said that as of late, the man has gotten Theodore Long a bit razzle dazzled. Now you take Jazz... the man has taken her WWE Women's Championship from her and she was never eliminated from the battle royal. Believe that, playa. Now, Christopher Nowinski, the doctors say that the white boy has a concussion but they're not going to let that keep them down because Rodney Mack and Theodore Long are going to show all these people here in the great white north and Rosey just what it means to back the Mack. Now if Rosey is going to be successful, he has to be down with a lot of thugging and bugging. He has to box like Rodney Mack and knock a white boy out.

As Theodore Long was babbling, Tommy Dreamer was being wheeled out on a stretcher and The Coach asked Bubba who did this and Bubba said that he's got a damn good idea who did this and he's going to find out.

-Rosey vs. The Hurricane

The Hurricane's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring and this is a one on one match with the Hurricane against Rosey.

The Hurricane extended his hand to Rosey to shake and Rosey instead slapped it and the Hurricane responded with some right hands. The Hurricane then went off the ropes and Rodney attempted to trip him up but the Hurricane responded by stepping on Rodney Mack's hands.

The Hurricane went to the top rope but Rosey got up and pulled him down, giving him a devastating Samoan drop to pick up the win.

Theodore Long got in the ring and tried to boss around Rosey but Rosey didn't like that one bit as he grabbed Theodore Long. Rodney Mack then got in the ring but Rosey knocked him down and then Rosey splashed Theodore Long in the corner. Rodney Mack then attacked Rosey, knocking him out of the ring with a hard kick to the head. Rodney whipped Rosey into the steel steps on the outside and left him laying before helping Theodore Long out of the ring.

Bubba Ray confronted Randy Orton and Ric Flair, blaming them for what they did to his best friend, Tommy Dreamer. Stone Cold showed up and told Bubba to back off as Randy Orton claimed he was in the back drinking a protein shake. Bubba asked Austin to do something about this and Austin told Bubba that since D-Von isn't here to rustle up a tag team partner because he's got a tag match. Bubba left and then Randy and Flair told Austin where they were at when Dreamer was beaten down. As they were talking, Jackie Gayda showed up, pleading with Austin to go with her because something happened to Rico.

Austin and Jackie Gayda went to check on Rico and he was a bloody mess. Austin asked Rico who did this and Rico said that he thinks it was Kane. Austin's response was a shocking "What?"

-Victoria and Stevie Richards vs. Gail Kim and Val Venis

Victoria and Stevie Richards made their way out to the ring and this is a mixed tag team match with Victoria and Richards against Gail Kim and Val Venis! Before the match, Gail took Val's towel off of him and then gave him a slap on the ass.

Victoria walked over to Gail and shoved her and Gail shoved Victoria back but Victoria grabbed Gail by the throat and backed her into the corner and hit her with a slap.

Gail Kim gave Victoria a hurricanrana into a pin to pick up the win for her team.

After the match, Val Venis and Gail Kim celebrated their win together.

Trish Stratus and Ivory were shown backstage and they were discussing something. After Ivory left, Trish started stretching and Test showed up. Test told Trish that he's been doing some thinking and since he's surprisingly single right now, he's been making a list of chicks who would like to hook up with him and Trish is number one. Trish said thanks but no thanks and Test got angered. Trish said that the way he treats women, she'll pass. Test said that he doesn't take no to an answer and then he grabbed her until Kevin Nash interjected, telling him to try to pick on someone his own size! Test said fine, he'll see Nash in the ring!

Chris Jericho's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for another edition of the Highlight Reel! The fans chanted "Y2J, Y2J" and Chris said that it sounds like they're excited to see Canada's Greatest Athlete! Well they're lucky that they're there tonight because tonight is a special night because Shawn Michaels is going to face the music, tonight. You know why? It was six years ago in this very arena when Shawn Michaels committed an act of treason, a travesty against every decent Canadian citizen when he knowingly and willingly screwed Bret Hart out of the WWE Title! They showed the evidence on the Jeritron 5000. The fans chanted "We want Bret" and Chris agreed with the fans. Every time he sees that footage, it makes his blood boil but tonight, face to face, in front of everyone, Shawn Michaels is going to give a long and necessary, overdue apology.

Shawn Michaels then made his way out to the ring to a mixed reaction and this is actually the second time Shawn Michaels will speak on the Montreal screw job on WWE Television. The fans chanted "You screwed Bret" and Chris said "Wow" and repeated what they said. Shawn said that he's actually glad that Chris has given him the opportunity to come out here and address this situation with absolutely every person in Montreal. The fans then started chanting "#$###, #$###" directed at the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels.

Shawn said that he has publicly apologized to Bret Hart and to everybody else but he's never once come out in Montreal and apologized to the fans in Montreal, so that's what he's going to do right here and right now. Shawn is and he will always be very sorry that the entire situation ever had to happen, but he has to tell everyone what he is most sorry about is the fact that the people in Montreal have never managed to be able to get on with their lives! And back at home in America and all over the world, nobody cares about what happened back in 1997. Montreal, Canada sits there all by itself as the only people that are stuck in November of 1997.

The fans once again chanted "You screwed Bret" and Shawn asked "and your point would be what?" He said that he had a job to do and he did it. It's time for everyone to move on with their lives. Chris Jericho told Shawn to hold on and then he called him a son of a #@$#@! Does he expect people to believe this crap that he's saying and all the junk that he's spewing out? This is about 1997, not Shawn Michaels. And he just wants them to go on and pretend it never happened and move on with their lives and forget what he did? Shawn said all that he's asking is for them to pick something else to dislike about Shawn Michaels because there's plenty to dislike about him. They can dislike him for beating their fellow Canadian Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania. At least that happened within the last year. He's just trying to help them move on with their lives.

Chris Jericho once again told Shawn Michaels to hold on a second and he said that they're never going to forget what he did. He put a black eye on this industry and on this country on the day that he screwed Bret and they are never ever going to forget that. Shawn asked Chris what this "we" stuff is? What is he, Mr. Canada? Then why in the world does he live in Florida? He lives in Florida, USA, doesn't he? Chris said that has nothing to do with this. This is about Survivor Series 1997, a day that will live on in infamy. Shawn told Chris that if he wants to avenge all his fellow Canadians, then let's get it on. Chris got things straight, he wants him to avenge Bret Hart and the Canadian fans? His answer to that is no. He wants a rematch but not here in Montreal. As much as he digs Canada, do you know how bad the economy is in this country? Do you know how valued the dollar is in this country? He's all about the Benjamins and he's the king of bling bling. Chris said that he will face Shawn Michaels in two weeks in Hollywood, California! Shawn told Chris that he's going to give him one last chance, for these people, Jericho and Shawn Michaels; right here in Montreal, Canada.

Chris once again declined the challenge, saying that it's not worth his time. He'll see him in two weeks in Hollywood! Chris said that if the fans didn't like what he's saying, then in 1997, Shawn Michaels said screw Bret Hart, well in 2003, Chris Jericho says screw Montreal!

The Coach caught up with Stone Cold, asking him what he's going to do to stop this rampage? Austin asked Coach if he's scared? Stone Cold is here and in charge and he'll get to the bottom of it. Stone Cold then went to his office where he noticed Kane sitting in his chair. Kane told Stone Cold that they need to talk.

After a commercial break, Austin said that he doesn't believe what he's hearing. They started talking and Kane is talking about quitting. Quitting isn't an option. Why would he want to quit? Because he thinks people are laughing at him? That's pathetic. Kane thought Tommy Dreamer and Rico were laughing at him, so he beat the hell out of them backstage like a coward? When Austin tried to motivate Kane, he did it for his own good, to try to turn him back into what he once was, a monster. Austin doesn't need him killing his Superstars backstage. He needs him doing it in the ring! After what Kane did to Bischoff last week, he bets the people would cheer him. They aren't going to boo him or laugh at him, they'd cheer him. Austin told Kane that he's going to give him a chance to listen to him. He can go out there with him tonight and listen to these people cheer him or if he chooses to do so, he can stay back here and quit. Those are Kane's options. Austin then asked Kane to please remove himself from Austin's chair. Kane stood up by Austin and walked out and as he walked out, his hand rubbed against the wall and blood streaks were on the wall from Tommy Dreamer and Rico.

-Test vs. Kevin Nash

Test's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for a one on one match against Kevin Nash.

Kevin Nash gave Test a knee to the mid section and then he gave him an elbow to the back of the head to knock him down to the mat. Nash then whipped Test into the corner and gave him a hard clothesline.

As the match was going on, Trish Stratus made her way out and she was about to tell the referee about the turnbuckle that Test pulled off but Test grabbed her and pulled her into the ring.

Kevin Nash went to hit Test but he nailed Trish and then Test gave Kevin Nash the big boot to knock him down and pin him for the three count.

Test pulled Trish out of the ring and she fell on her face and then he rammed the back of her head and neck into the security wall. Before leaving, he did his Big Poppa Pump impersonation. By the way, Scott Steiner isn't here tonight due to the fact that he's at bedside with Stacy Keibler.

Terri introduced everyone to the brand new Intercontinental Champion and Booker said that before tonight, he wasn't able to smile as large as he is now. Before tonight, he was only known as the five time WCW Champion, but now check his smile out? It's a little big, ain't it? Why? It's because for the first time, he is the new Intercontinental Champion and he's feeling fine and looking even finer! Booker then invited the whole damn town of Montreal to celebrate with the Champ, now can you dig that, sucka?!

-Chris Jericho vs. Mark Jindrak

Chris Jericho's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring, set for a one on one match against Mark Jindrak.

Mark Jindrak and Chris Jericho locked it up in the center of the ring and Mark backed Jericho into the ropes and after the two broke it up, Jericho gave Mark Jindrak a sucker punch.

Mark Jindrak gave Chris Jericho a side slam and then he pinned him for a two count as Jericho got his foot on the rope.

Chris put Mark Jindrak in the Walls of Jericho, forcing him to tap out.

After the match, Jericho took the mic and said that is Michaels in two weeks in Hollywood when he gets his Wrestlemania revenge!

This Sunday on Sunday Night Heat will be Triple H taking on Maven with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line!

-Molly Holly vs. Trish Stratus

Molly Holly made her way out to the ring and this is one on one match with Molly against Trish Stratus to determine the number one contender for next week's edition of RAW to wrestle Gail Kim for the Women's Title.

Molly knocked Trish (who slipped out, photos below) down in the ring and then she grabbed her and lifted her up and dropped her down to the mat and then choked away on Trish with a piece of her clothing.

Molly gave Trish a shoulder breaker and then she put Trish in an inverted camel clutch to pick up the win to earn the right to wrestle for the Women's Title against Gail Kim next week on RAW!

Stone Cold was shown watching the action on the television and Kane showed up and scared the hell out of Austin. Austin asked him what he's doing? What's it going to be? Is he going to go out there with Austin or is he going to quit? Kane responded by saying "I'll do it," leaving Austin confused.

-Randy Orton and Ric Flair vs. Bubba Ray and Rob Van Dam

Randy Orton and Ric Flair made their way out to the ring for a tag team contest against Bubba Ray Dudley and a partner of his choice and that partner is none other than Rob Van Dam!

Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton locked it up and Randy gave Rob a shot to the face and then he whipped him into the corner where RVD gave Randy Orton an elbow to the face.

Ric Flair put Rob Van Dam in the figure four leg lock and Rob squirmed in pain until he rolled over and grabbed the ropes.

Flair went for the figure four again but RVD rolled Flair up in a small package for a two count.

Ric Flair went to the top rope but Bubba Ray pulled him down, slamming him in the center of the ring and then he pinned him but only got a two count as Randy Orton broke it up.

Rob Van Dam went to the top rope and Randy Orton tried to pull him down but Spike Dudley came out and knocked Orton down. Rob Van Dam then hit Ric Flair with the frog splash and then pinned him for the three count to get the win.

Kane was shown walking through the backstage area and he got pissed off and knocked the camera man down.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring to a huge pop. Austin said that he appreciates it, but he's been talking about Kane all night long and talking with the guy. He's been talking with him long enough and he said he was going to come out here in this ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin. He's not going to put words in the fans mouth and tell them how to respond because they can do whatever they want. But if Kane comes out and shows he has some guts, then he's earned Austin's respect. Austin then introduced Kane to the ring and the fans heavily cheered The Big Red Machine, giving him a big Standing-O!

Austin smiled at Kane and nodded as Kane took a look around the audience to see their reaction. The fans then chanted "Kane, Kane, Kane!" and Austin said that he's not a rocket scientist, but isn't that exactly what he said would happen? This ain't no beauty contest. These people don't give a damn what he looks like. What they care about is when he comes to the ring, steps over the ropes and starts throwing carcasses around like there ain't no tomorrow. That's what they want from Kane. He's one of the toughest bastards Austin has stepped into the ring with and it's time for him to climb higher than he's ever been in his life. If you want to see this big red son of a #@$#@ open up many cans of whoop ass in the future, give him a hell yeah! The fans yelled "Hell yeah" and Austin said that's what RVD was trying to do when he told him to take off the mask; he was trying to motivate him. That's what Austin was trying to do when he tried to motivate him last month. Austin then showed the footage of Kane choke slamming Bischoff straight to hell. Austin said that's the fire that Kane possesses and he requested to see the footage one more time. Now that wasn't just hysterical, that was straight up funny. Kane asked Austin if he's saying he's funny? Austin said that he's not saying he's funny. He said that was funny. Kane took the towel off his head and he said he thought Austin said he wasn't going to make fun of him! Austin said that he's not trying to make fun of him and Kane nailed Austin, taking him down to the mat and giving him a number of right hands. Kane backed Austin into the corner and punched and kicked away on the Co General Manager of RAW! Austin battled back on Kane, knocking him out of the ring with some right hands and then he slammed him into the steel ring post.

On the outside of the ring, Austin grabbed a steel chair and laid Kane out with it, busting him opened. Austin rolled Kane back into the ring and gave him the Stone Cold Stunner and then Austin called for some beers but Kane sat up and grabbed Austin by the throat and gave him a big time choke slam in the center of the ring. The show ended with Kane standing tall over Stone Cold Steve Austin.
