How about a mechanic for the Joes? Yeah,I know that most of the drivers are suppose to do their own work but having one would still be nice.

Clutch is a mechanic... and his figure (now named Double Clutch) is coming out with the Desert Coyote.

Of the troops not represented in RAH, it's time Joe got some Air Force Special Operations ground forces, which include: Pararescue, Tactical Air Control Parties (TACPs), and Combat Controller Teams (CCTs).

I will never ever understand why the Air Force would have ground forces. I'm sure there's probably a very sensical reason behind it, but right off it just sounds wrong. I can see the Army or Marines having planes and boats, but the Air Force makes me think of AIR FORCES...

A few things AF Spec Op grounds forces do are coordinate CAS, Close Air Support and lase targets for bombing.

They also cooperate with other Spec Op groups (SEALs, Delta Force, Special Forces "Green Berets") in Direct Action, Counter-Terrorism, Foreign Internal Defense, Humanitarian Assistance, Special Reconnaissance, and Combat Search and Rescue operations.

USAF ground troops do a variety of jobs, from Search and Rescue to Forward Observation ( spotting targets, with either sight or lasers) to

securing and prepping airfields ( IIRC)

The Army is not allowed by convention to have fixed wing aircraft--which is why they have helicopters.

Just as Navy SEALs are supposed to have "one foot in the water--meaning their ops start or finish on water, the USAF ground forces have missions that have something to do with aircraft ops.

Probably more than you really want to know, but....

Combat Controller Teams (CCTs)

The USAF Combat Controllers are tasked with guiding aircraft into unimproved or recently liberated airfields. In addition, they may make temporary fields for use by aircraft, cutting trees or in some cases removing mines from the potential landing site. They may also have to remove obstacles placed on airfields.

Combat controllers can use HALO/HAHO techniques, SCUBA, ATVs, or plain old walking in to infiltrate an area before a large drop to set up and mark the drop zone. If an airfield was to be seized by an airborne drop, Combat Controllers would jump with the assaulting force to set up as an on-site friendly ATC to guide in incoming transports that would be used to resupply and strengthen the airfield assault force.

Combat Controllers are ground combat forces assigned to Special Tactics Squadrons within the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). They are organized, trained and equipped to rapidly establish and control the air-ground interface and provide airmanship skills in the objective area. Functions include assault zone assessment and establishment; air traffic control; command and control communications; special operations terminal attack control; and removal of obstacles with demolitions. The CCT provide a unique capability and deploy with joint air and ground forces in the execution of Direct Action (DA), Counter-Terrorism (CT), Foreign Internal Defense (FID), Humanitarian Assistance, Special Reconnaissance, Austere Airfield, and Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) operations.

Tactical Air Control Parties (TACPs)

The term Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) refers to the two or three MAN operations team responsible for interfacing with, coordinating for and conducting for Army ground forces (U.S. or multi-national) Close Air Support (CAS). However, there are broader and much more narrow aspects to this field.

US Air Force Special Operations Forces TACPs are Enlisted Terminal Attack Controllers (ETAC) who work aligned with US Army Special Operations Forces. They provide close air support/terminal guidance control for exercise and contingency operations, on a permanent and continuous basis, with a mission to increase the combat capability of the US Forces. They also provide additional expertise in Artillery, Naval Gunfire, and Attack Helicopters.

Their five fold mission is:

1. Support of US Army Special Operations Command, US Army Special Forces Command, John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center, 1st, 3d, 5th, 7th and 10th Special Forces Groups, US Army Rangers, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Joint Special Operations Task Forces, and other Special Operations units.

2. Advise the ground commander on the capabilities and use of tactical airpower.

3. Assist the ground commander on the planning and employment of tactical air support.

4. Provide a link with the Theater Air Control System.

5. Conduct Emergency Close Air Support/Terminal Guidance Operations training.

Unlike other "specialized" Air Force brethren (excluding Combat Weather), they live on Army posts, go to the field with them, and train with them. Members can be found assigned to Armor/Mech units, Scout units, CAV units, Mountain troops, light and heavy brigades, divisions and battalions. Members are found at the Special Forces and Rangers, many SF qualified and full Ranger members (completed the Ranger and SF training). Many members are at Airborne divisions, most with wings. They can go anywhere, in any weather, in any environment with any friendly ground force to accomplish CAS.

TACP skills and capabilities mirror their Army counterparts. Being Airborne qualified is mandatory; however, current members are qualified in many areas including HALO, HALO jumpmaster, Static-line jumpmaster, Air Assault, Pathfinder, SCUBA and Ranger.

Pararescue

The USAF Pararescue teams are the Air Force's elite medical forces that are capable of supplying trauma and medical assistance for not only downed pilots or ground crew but also Special Operations Forces and units. They are highly trained during a grueling phase that washes out the vast majority of applicants. In addition to their excellent medical training, Pararescue members are trained in parachute insertions (including jumping into heavily forested environments or water), waterborne ops including SCUBA, heliborne operational procedures, and also patrolling techniques they may need when attached to a larger ground force or small Special Operations unit. Pararescue are also tasked with search and rescue missions into a wide variety of terrain and regions.

Their SAR missions include:

Search and Rescue operations

NASA Space Shuttle launch support

Downed aircrew and aircraft recovery

and half the spy troop joes. I think that was a joke.

A chaplin? yes. Joes are in extreme situations and have enough size to warrant some counciling from time to time.

Scalpal isn't the medi-viper, just their leader in my opinion.

for cobra: an anti armour specailist, Definatly, and another Crap yeah to the heavy weapons commander, (though i fear they think that is claws commander)

A psychiatrist would probably be more helpful. I prefer a more clinical approach.
