jvc original team

You know as much as I really do like some of the new designs and characters, a little piece of me would love to see a JVC version of the original team 1982 (* i know we have a couple) but what I am saying is JUST the original team..

Breaker, Flash, Grunt, Rock N Roll, Scarlett, Short-Fuze, Snake Eyes,

Stalker, Zap, Clutch, Grand Slam, Hawk, Steeler.

then focus the line on vehicles and tons of villians...

I know it will never happen, but i look at my original team, yeah sure they are plain..but I loved the idea of a small elite team, and the fact that most were the every man character. and they battled the fearsome forces of costumed villians.

god imagine a line that focused on pumping out bad guys for your core team to fight, and the tools and vehicles necessary to be a secret agency designed to protect freedom.

I think the line should continue as it is, moving forward. Focusing too much on the past gets redundant.

However, I think it would be great if at some point they released a boxed set of new molds for the original characters.

Or something like that.

Basically something for collectors and nostalgia-addicts, while leaving the main line of figures unnaffected.

Just my thoughts. Cheers.

Marty, I can't agree with you more.

Much like the 'core' of the X-Men or JLA are rebirthed through the years, they typically start with the majority of their founding members. GI Joe should've followed this example: Reimagining the series, but keeping the foundation it started on.

I can only have 13, huh?

Awwrighty...

Duke: Team leader. No Hawk, or General Flagg, or any other busy-body general figure.

Snake Eyes: Non-ninja Commando.

Stalker: Ranger.

Beachhead: Ranger

Flint: Warrant Officer

Dial-Tone: Tele-communications

Lifeline: Medic

Airtight: NBC Detector - Is anyone more important in modern terrorist combat than they guy who can detect and disable their NBC weaponry?

Lady Jaye: Infiltration/Spy

Chuckles: Infiltrator/Spy

Dusty: Desert Operations

Alpine: Mountain trooper. Would probably work in unison with Dusty.

And the negotiator... Bullhorn. That's right, Bullhorn

I think that the 13 member group is a good idea.

i envison my team covert. no yo joe cola...heck not even tons of vehicles

one large ground transport

one large helicopter to transfer the team.

No large base.

maybe individual jet packs.

but the team would not be its own military force as much as a suppliment to the military.

and in my thoughts, not everyone could pilot a jet...that is why you create a team so one person doesnt stand out

 that's right man, Duke is a man of action not a pencile pusher!

Tom

you just have to be diffrent, huh? that's actualy a pretty good choice i hadn't considered. but you don't fool me; i know you didn't pick him for his negotiation skills, you picked him for that coolass briefcase and break down rifle 8)

Shhhhh shut up...

But you're right... Bullhorn wasn't anything special, aside from his gun set-up and unique (and almost unimportant) skill. heck - even that wasn't so hot... what negotiating are you gonna do with Cobra? Those suckers aren't the reasonable type.

But like all things, when you're a kid, little nicities strike you the most. Bullhorn seemed so cool to me, with his gun that could be disasembled... and I usually played him out like he lied to the Cobras, willing to give them something worth their time, and then blowing them away on the inside.

Wee! I love these types of threads!

My thirteen would consist of:

Hawk, Duke, Snake-Eyes, Roadblock, Flint, Lady Jaye, Lifeline, Scarlett, Gung-Ho, Dial-Tone, Beach-Head, Shipwreck, and Dusty; just because they're my core favorites, not necessarily because they'd be the most effective.  I like Stalker too, but you guys said just thirteen, so...

My thirteen core Cobras would be:

Cobra Commander (duh!), Destro, Baroness, Major Bludd, Zartan, Buzzer, Ripper, Torch, Firefly, Dr. Mindbender, Overkill, Storm Shadow, and the Crimson Twins. (That's fourteen though. Oh well; I can't count! ) Anybody after that would be some sorta Viper or trooper. 8)

I honestly couldn't tell you who I'd pick for my 13 Joes... I'd probably have to go with the original 13, just because I'm not a big fan of them... (I can't help it if I felt G.I.Joe was persecuting them!)

As far as Cobra's go... Cobra Commander, Destro, Scrap Iron, Firefly, two Tele-Vipers, two Motor-Vipers, two Strato-Vipers, Xamot, Tomax, and a Crimsun Guard...

I think that about covers Cobra's bases of Infrastructer (sp?)

-Kevin

P.S.- I'll get back to you on the Joes once I finish going through my figures again.
