soundwave version?

I believe they are the same size, Soundblaster was just a different color and the tape area was inlarged to house two tapes instead of one. It would be interesting to see if the Soundwave reissue was a repainted Soundblaster because that would pretty much confirm that there will be a ehobby Soundblaster down the road. I already have a nice Soundwave with all his tapes but the rare ones so while I'm happy to see that he's being re-issued finally for my fellow collectors its not a big deal really to me. Thats seeker money.(LOL)

I hope they did use the Soundblaster mold. First of all, this means that the Soundwave mold would retain it's value, and maybe even go up in value since it would mean no reissue of that mold would EVER be available. This would be good for those of us who already own Soundwave. It would also allow Soundwave to hold TWO cassettes, and come on, who doesn't want to see that? You could store Ravage and Laserbeak in him at the same time! I think we'll see Soundblaster and Twincast later on regardless of whether this is the Soundblaster mold being used now, but I think it would be a nice improvement over the original and keep the vintage collecting community alive.

I don't want to see that! I want it to be original!

They said SOUNDblaster, not Blaster.

Soundblaster was a rebuilt version of Soundwave (Japan only?) who could hold 2 cassettes.

There was also a rebuilt version of Blaster (2 tapes also) called Twincast

So it goes Soundwave vs Blaster, then they die, get rebuilt, and its Soundblaster and Twincast

I hope it is the original and I have a strong gut feeling that it will be just for the fact that most of Takara's reissues have been almost identical to the originals. Takara could make more money anyway reissuing an original Soundwave mold followed by a Soundblaster "exclusive" that collectors will buy.

I never had an original Soundwave as a kid and heck, a reissue is going to save me $400 that I may have paid for an original...
