TFTM - Question regarding Prime vs. Megatron

Always a fun battle to watch.

Here's the deal -

First, I know there are many things out there regarding people remembering things differently....and I wanted to ask about something that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. (Which probably means I am a looney, but here goes - )

Megatron picks up the shrapnel (npi) from the ground and chunks it at Prime, nailing him in the left side. In the footage on the DVD, he picks it up off the ground, stands up and throws.

Here is where I have a conflict with what happens - I seem to recall renting this circa 1987,1988 & instead of seeing him pick it up off the ground....he turns and rips it off the building next to him (like it was a stalagtite) & then chunks it at Prime.

Ok...so there is no real reason as to why this would have been changed that I can think of....but I had to write out my thoughts from every time I watch that scene.

I have it on VHS and DVD and I remember that scene quite clearly form the movie. All the same. I have remembered things differently in the past and would swear I was right only to find out later.....I was wrong.

There is something about this film....("more than meets the eye" so to speak) that has caused so many different people to remember different scenes....differently. haha.

I guess this is my "difference of recollection."

Outside of people recalling "to be continued" at the end of the original run of Back to the Future in the theaters (when it wasn't), TFTM is the only movie I have heard of people remembering differently. (and so many at that)
