X-Men: The Early Years?

Just recently came across the first issue of this series, and wanted to know more about it. Does it reprint the original X-Men issues in order without skipping? How long did the series run for, or is it still going?

Just wondering if this would be an economic solution to reading all or most of the early issues prior to #66, where it goes into reprints until the new team is introduced.

Much thanks!

Jeff

Hmmm. Interesting premise. I only have #1, which reprintied the 1965 premeire, so I assumed they were all reprints. I may just have to check them out anyway though. Curious to know who writes it and if it's any good.

Thanks!

here's what I found in some Wizard back isues:

Professor Xavier and the X-Men

(1995- 1997)

18 issues

(I believe this title was a new look at the early days of the X-men)

X-Men: The Early Years

(1994- 1995)

reprints

17 issues

Sweet! So The Early Years were reprints, but only went for 17 issues. I wonder if it was the first 17 issues, or if they skipped around for key issues. Might be worth picking up, especially since Essential Uncanny X-Men isn't even in color.

Thanks!
