So I've got my Tigre Force... (Can't find the first set though, maybe I should preorder next time asewll), I've got three Python Patrol sets en route (they always were my favorite)... And now I hear of a new Night Force?

I have not see any pictures, let alone heard anything beyond that Toys 'R' Us has a Night Force set in it's computer catalogue...

Anyone care to shed some light on this?

(Oh, and is five B.A.T. Packs enough? What other sets you think might come out?)

There nothing beyond what you've stated in your post that is available (info, pics...). More on Night Force at Joe Con... hopefully.

Expect Arctic Force as likely candidate for a TRU exclusive as well.

And whatever was mentioned on last year's survey has a shot.

Some of the ones mentioned were:

Cobra BAT Attack

Crimson Support Team (Tele-Viper **rest was cut off**)

Cobra Night Force

Cobra Python Patrol II

Cobra Silent Strike (Cobra Martial Arts)

Cobra Urban Strike Team

Dreadnok Wrecking Crew

The Joes had:

Eco-Warriors

Desert Recon Team

Brazil Mission II

Night Force

Ninja Force

Polar Mission

Star Brigade

Tiger Force II

Oktober Guard

Sky Patrol

I'm sure there was more but the rest was cut off.

Unless it's a Cobra set, I hope not. Arctic Joes have proven to be pegwarmers time and time again. I really don't know why as they are many of the better done and more realistic figures in the history of the line. It's just that they don't sell. If it's a combo set of both Joe and Cobras, though, then it might be interesting.

I think it all depends on the success of the BAT pack. I would bet that there will be at least some info about the next army builder set at the convention. However, based on the numbers of BAT packs I've heard Hasbro wants to produce, I'm getting the feeling that they are going to end up being pegwarmers and could affect the availability of future army building sets.

Which is prolly cause they release the same ones over and over. I'd sure as hell buy a set that had Sub Zero, Cold Front, Snow Storm, Wind Chill, and Iceburg :D How freakin cool would a Cold Front re-issue be?!

The RAHC Big Ben and White Out were pretty well done. Alot better than the later incarnations of Big Ben.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Artic Joes or Cobras. The vehicles are OK (the Snow Cat and WOLF is cool), and the weapons for the figures are usually white; not that they are unrealistic, but I just don't like it, and it would look better as a two-tone weapon, which we can all agree isn't gonna happen.

And most of my Joes aren't in arctic gear, so they would rarely hang together with the arctic specialists. Most of mine are either in green or black or blue.

Regardless, if it did come out, I'd get one set at the very least. Just 'cause they're RAH. Maybe more if the weapons and paint job are cool.

They could do them in white and black (white jackets and black belts boots and gear), instead of pure white (or off-white or whatever).

Sets of the Joes will always run the risk of being pegwarmers. The Cobra sets always (or at least I would assume) do better. I mean how many unique figures (of Joes) do you need anyway?

2 at max, one to open and the other as a back-up.

Are you saying there isn't that big a demand for them (at least not up to Hasbro's expectations)?

Alot of folks are saying that it'll likely be sold out by year's end. Or at least this time next year, they won't be too readily available, if at all.

I hope the BAT 6-pack set does well. If they're still available towards Christmas, I might even get a few more (on top of my max, which is 4 at the moment).

I'd definitely get this set. Especially if all of them came with their original weapons (and in decent colors).

Particularly Sub-Zero, if his M-60 came with the bipod and ammo belt and were a decent color (gray/black for gun and bipod and gold/copper for the ammo belt), I might even buy 2 sets.

I probably throw in Frostbite v3 (Battle Corp) in there as well.

Not necessarily. I'm just saying that if the numbers that Hasbro wanted to produce this set in are true, then retailers will be hard pressed to move them all as an internet exclusive.

Again, it depends. If they produce the large number of sets they wanted to, then I see these guys being around at retail for a LONG time. (Or, at least, clearanced.) However, if they produce fewer sets, then the scenario you describe is likely. It just depends on what the production run ends up being. While these things are selling like hot-cakes in the online Joe collecting world, we just aren't a big enough group to absorb the type of numbers Hasbro was throwing around. Even if they lower their production numbers, though, there will be BAT packs aplenty for the rest of the year at least.

I do, too. While I don't much like the concept of BATS, these figures are cool and I am now hoping to find a way to get 6 or 8 sets. With their success, other packs of a similar nature are more likely. Even if the BATS end up pegwarmers, I'm pretty sure we'll get at least one more army-building pack before a final determination is made.

These sets would probably do better if they went for an all out release. None of this exclusive crap. Then Hasbro could do the numbers they wanna do. But it's really all up to those chain stores.

I think Cobra set will do well, as the army building community would jump at the chance to army build figures a such a cheaper price. The Joes on the other hand, would benefit more from a smaller production run. Me, personally, I just need the 1 set most of the time, but I do plan on getting multiple Cobra sets.

And lastly, the most important factors are what molds they choose, the paint job (and for me, accessories and their colors) and overall quality. They can't skimp on QC like they did with Tiger Force 2. I mean it wasn't horrible, but it could be better. I mean, it's gotta be RAHC level or better.

The molds for Cobra Army Builder sets are even more important. Some molds just go better than others. A CG or Cobra Soldier set would be nice, however unavailable their molds are. But you get my point. Some molds just aren't gonna fly off the shelves.

Hasbro should do official polls of kind; just voting, no comments. (It could track IP address to stop multiple votes.) That way, they can gauge how well some of these sets will be recieved.

Then they could adjust their production runs accordingly. Hell, they did that with the recent TRU Vehicle Exclusives.
