BAT PACK pics in Toyfare magazine

Picked it up today at Barnes & Noble and saw the pictures of the BATS.

 

They definitely look VERY COOL! Check 'em out.

Close up it looks like the chest stickers are made in the same lenticular fashion as the ones from the first 2 BATs. These are all new. In the original pictures it looked they they were going to be regular holograms, but those were so small it was difficult to see initially.

 

Overkill looks a bit better in these pics as well. And I always suspected the v2 BATs would look so much better painted in the v1 scheme. Hasbro stated the v1 mold was gone for good, so this is a nice happy medium. I am REALLY looking forward to this set and any following ones if they put THIS much care into them.

COOL, however what do you mean by Hasbro lost the Mold for the V1 BATS? :-? We will never see the V1 bats again? I mean seriously if they still have the Legs to the BATS, how could they loose the Face, and chest?

Dude. Ive liked many things that have come out and I *ALWAYS* gave credit where it was due. And this is by no means the first time I ever gave props to something (BJs set, X-30's Slipstream, Tiger Force, costume designs for various JvCs) and it certainly wont be the the last. @*-

I like Overkill's alternate hand/weapon. What was it supposed to be again? A portable brainwasher?

 

And was the alt arm attachement for the v2 BAT mold supposed to be a greanade launcher? Anyone else just use it as a laser gun instead? That's what I used it for. I kinda sorta wish they had come with the launcher backpack to so you could store all the BAT's attatchments on the figure, but that's really no big deal though

 

Cant wait to see the filecards for these babies. Particularly the Inferno BATS.

Inferno bats are okay, but I really only like the Black ones

Because of the pictures here i'm buying a set! I wasn't to impressed until I saw the newer pics. I also agree that the v2 Bat looks killer in v1 colors. I also really like the Inferno Bat, but Overkill is still radioactive poo.

I think those stickers on this BAT set are just that, stickers. Prism-like stickers. Highly reflective material maybe, but I don't think they'll be holographic or even like the original BAT 2.

I think it looks great too. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they did this set.

 

And I don't mind Overkill that much. He looks OK to me. He's worth it, especially when you think about his fellow figures in this set.

The filecard hints that it's a machine gun. YoJoe.com says flamethrower.

 

I always used it as a machine gun (even a mini-gun, with some imagination). I was never into laser weapons with either Joe or Cobra. Way too powerful.

The colors on Overkill arent that bad. In fact theyre no worse than the JvC one. In fact save for the green chest plate theyre IDENTICAL.

Yeah I have to agree Overkill's color sucks. I am only for the Inferno Bats and the V1 mold. 8) Yessss my BAT army continues to grow! -

More outlets = wider buyer base = increased chances of future troop sets.

 

 

Looking at the picture in TOYFARE firsthand I see lines on the sticker that look exactly like the ones on the original & v2. That's the basis of my guess about it being a similar lenticular nature.

 

But even if it IS just a more prismatic holographic foil, Im still happy Hasbro actually unclenched the pocketbook enough to even MAKE a new sticker and help differentiate these from the originals just a little bit more, making it look like Cobra has been upgrading the design over time.
