What do u think is the most annoying things that happen in sports games?

For me i would have to say that i hate it when a team does really good and blows it in the last few minutes.

I also hate waiting for timeouts in basketball

I would have to say that it's listening to grown men who make millions of dollars a year throw tantrums like 2 year olds...too much showboating also ticks me off.

I hate it when Referees blow the game, and hand the championship over to the Lakers! Man, the Kings were dominant in that series last year, but the refs gave the Lakers 3 games.

I also hate it when a professional athelete praises God all the time.. It might be good for kids to hear that from somebody they look up to, but I have a serious problem when Dion Sanders comes out wearing a $100,000 outfit of furs and jewelry, talking about how he is some super-christian... That is so wrong, any christian knows that you aren't supposed to decorate yourself like that and buy yourself extravigant things... It says in the Bible that it is easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle, than it is to get a rich man into heaven.. I am not claiming to be a perfect christian at all, in fact judging others like this is a sin, but that really bugs me...

Oh and another related pet peev,, players who do touchdown dances for any good play.. That is what you are supposed to do, its your job... When I was bagging groceries, I never did a dance after a successful paper bag order. And when a player gets on his knees after scoring a touchdown to pray in the endzone

I understand what you're getting at Clam...wealth is not supposed to be more important than God, but if his wealth is not taking precedence over his belief in God, then what is wrong with it? As long as he's not talking about all the money he has or the jewelry he's wearing, and he's praising God, then what's the problem? What's the difference between spending your money on a bunch of plastic dolls or spending it on jewelry? After all, you're supposed to build up riches in heaven and not on earth. What's the difference between the two? If it hasn't changed his views on God, or flawed his faith, why does that make him bad for wearing diamonds and gold?

BTW - I agree with what you're saying...just wanted to play the devil's advocate. Wanted to hear your answer. ;)

1. The greed of the owners. Oh how I love to be forced by a city to pay more in taxes every time a billionaire team owner decides he wants a new arena that he can easily afford on his own but the greedy baby just doesn't want to, so it's everyone else who pays.

2. The rudeness on TV. Going 5 minutes late has a tendency of adding 30 minutes to a game, and it's completely destroyed Futurama (WAS my favorite show until the NFL and FOX butt-raped it right off the air) and nearly destroyed the Simpsons too. There are how many sports channels where that stuff can be playing instead?

3. The greed of athletes. They make more than scientists and doctors combined, yet always whine over wanting more.

4. Ticket and concession prices to sports games. Have they passed that law forbidding peasants and commoners yet so they can fill the arenas with nothing but luxury booths?

5. Commercialism gone insane. When I was a kid, a football or basketball game would play through until the end when live. Now they STOP the live games for the TV commercial breaks every five minutes or so. Disgusting. If I have to sit through the commercials, then I might as well save all the money it takes to go to a game and watch it on TV.

okay,,, I am not saying that it makes them personally bad Christians, but rather displays a poor image of what a Christian should be... It is easy to see that somebody wearing tons of jewelry and way too expensive clothes is a greedy bastage... They are not doing their part to serve God and give to more needy people... When I see some pro-athelete, wearing a 100,000 dollar diamond chain around his neck, thanking God for letting him play well in the big game, I get pissed... Because that is so dumb to thank God for something he doesn't want you to do... He would much rather you go out to the streets of your city and give that 100,000 bucks to some needy people, instead of wearing it around your neck, flaunting your wealth...

In fact, the NFL has instated a "volunteer" program to help out charities, just to save their image... The program is "volunteer", but every player is expected to participate. Because it is the right thing to do, and they don't want their atheletes to be selfish bastages...

As for your analogy of buying expensive decorations to wear, or spending your money on plastic toys... It is a valid one... I should not be buying toys when I don't need them... We should not be more commited to possessions than we are to our fellow man.... But the difference is, I know that I am not a perfect Christion, not even close.. And I do not make efforts to portray one.

If I was on national tv, sitting in a room full of my toy collection, I would never in a thousand years, thank God for allowing me to buy so many toys.

That is wrong, and it gives off a poor image of our religion... People would think, "Oh, thats what being a Christian is all about?? Buying yourself lots of things and focusing all your resources on your own enjoyment of frivolous activities? I always thought being a Christian was about loving your fellow man and helping other people?"

That is why that bothers me...

I agree with everything you said. Also include the stupidity of the fans: For example: Philadelphia Eagles fans. God I hate Eagle fans. They haven't won anything for 50 years and they act like the just won the Super Bowl last year. All I have to say to Eagle fans is: HA! HA! You lost your crappy stadium, playoff game, and your best shot to go to the Super Bowl. MUWHAHAHAHAAHHA!

I hate that the Rangers never make the playoffs (looks like 9th again this year, boys) and have a payroll topping $70 million per year. What the hell? Fire your coaches!

I also hate that Schumacher got black carded in the first race. As if the judges aren't out to get him and stop him from winning 6 championships. It still won't work, unless they cheat Ferrari that blatantly every race. He still could've won!

Ok here's a few good ones for everyone. I'll explain great examples if I am questioned...

1) When the @#*$ is super fixed and watching a game is like watching an episode of wrestling and everything is pre-determined.

2) When "history must be broken" in order to STRIVE to get ratings or some idiot to watch it. Again very wrestling-like I got some good examples for this, I doubt I will get questioned for examples on this matter. Sometimes I don't know if I'm watching Monday Night Football or Monday Night Raw.

3) Baseball. It really went down the tubes big time eh?

4) Acting. Another wrestling-like thing right here. Basketball is the worst for this since you gotta act like you got thrown to draw a foul. Why can't they just play the damn game? If they must act they also...must suck at the game.

5) Referee's that are blind, ##$%$#ed, or both. Again like an episode of wrestling.

Sorry about that, I just had to get that out.

Conclusions: Wrestling is now one of the most popular sports as it is year round every Monday and Thursday. Also "real sports" are considered SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT by me. If I want real sports I'll take it to the playground and shoot around with my friends since it is more realistic than the NBA. We don't need millions of dollars either, although we arent actors(most of the time  ).

just cause basketball players act doesnt mean they arent skilled at the game. I agree they act alot, but if acting gets them the win, then good for them. And they are very skilled, i guarentee if anyone here played a pro one on one they would lose.

sure, those guys are great atheletes, but they aren't competing at anything,, it's more like a dance, then a sport.

Shaq and Kobe really annoy me. The reason Kobe annoys me? One word: cocky. He acts like he's the greatest thing to grace basketball since Jordan, but what happened when Shaq was hurt at the beginning of this season? The Lakers sucked a big fat one. Sure, he had quite a few triple-doubles in Shaq's absense, but he still couldn't get the wins for his team...and that's all that really matters.

Now, why does Shaq bother me? We have a man that is basically a giant at 7 feet tall and about 300 pounds. All he does is pound the defender to the hole and dunk on them. How much skill does that really take when you're his size? Let's see him shoot consistently from outside of the paint...wait...that would never happen because he has no skill. Any of us could do what he does, possibly even better, if we were his size.

oooh DAMN! You know your sports dude.. that is totally true about both Kobe and Shaq.

I am damn tired of Kobe getting so much credit for what he does.. He has talent, there is no doubt about that, but he ain't that great... Whenever he scores like 35 points, he shoots about 45 shots to get all those points.. how is that even good??? He'll go like 14 for 45, with a bunch of free throws, and eveybody will be all over his nuts like he is the King of the world! Please. give me Kevin Garnet over him anyday.

And Shaq.. you are absolutey right.. He is 7'2" I think, and he weighs about 345 pounds... All he ever does is push people with his huge ass, he completely knocks people all over, and never gets called for offensive fouls. He may be the most dominant player in the league, but he is in the bottom 10% in terms of talent and skill. I don't think he takes more than 2 shots from outside the dotted-circle undernieth the hoop, ever.

If I was as tall as Shaq, I would be so much better than him.. I can actually shoot the ball, and make freethrows.

I was so pissed when the refs gave the Lakers the series against the Kings last season. SO many times they screwed us over.. Freakin' Ralph Nader even tried to take the league to court becuase of suspicion of tampering by the league. There is plenty of evidence, the league should have at least apologized to the Kings... that is why they put in instant replay this year for buzzer-beater shots... Stupid Lakers!

Kobe Bryant is nothing without Shaq period. Someone please beat the Lakers in the playoffs so that I can see some "REAL Basketball playoff games". I want to see Dallas vs Kings in the Conference Finals. I want to see real Basketball players playing real basketball.

Nets vs Kings in the Finals!

Damn skippy. He's really stepped up in the last half of the season. The T-wolves might actually be contenders this year if he keeps playing like he has.

Word. You know what I thought was funny? There was a quote by Shaq in USA Today when he was hurt at the beginning of the season. To paraphrase, he said, "This isn't reality. Reality happens when I return." You know what happened when he returned? The Kings raped the Lakers. LOL

Someone please beat the Lakers in the playoffs so that I can see some "REAL Basketball playoff games".

The Lakers are gonna end up playing Sacramento or Dallas in the playoffs eventually. The way the Kings are playing, there is no way the Lakers can beat them. When you have players like Bobby Jackson coming off the bench to replace an injured Bibby and he ends up scoring over 20 points almost every game, you know this team has depth. Then you have Chris Webber...this guy has unbelievable ball control for such a big guy. Not to mention he can shoot (unlike Shaq). He's hungry for a ring this year. On top of all this...Shaq only added fuel to the fire by calling them the "Sacramento Queens" last year. The Kings will hand the Lakers their asses to them if they meet up in the playoffs.

If the Lakers meet up with Dallas, I don't see them taking this series either. Dallas was on top of their game at the beginning of the season. They've kinda slacked off a little as of late, but once the playoffs start, I'm sure they'll be playing like they were at the beginning of the season. When you have players that are 7 foot tall and can shoot from way outside (Dirk Norwitski (sp?)), and all around players like Michael Finley...you know you have a team that can beat the Lakers. Not forgetting Nash either...this guy is an awesome point guard...highly underrated.

And, like I said earlier, if Garnett keeps playing the way he is right now all the way through the playoffs, the Timberwolves could probably pound the Lakers as well.

All in all, I think it is gonna come down to the Kings in the west. They have the best team by far this year. Harder to call in the East though. If I had to guess, I'd say Indiana. Reggie is always clutch in the playoffs, and Jermaine O'neal is finally showing his talent now that he has the chance and isn't stuck on a team like he was with Portland where they had so much talent that he didn't have a chance to develope.
