Thundercat toys, possibly a glimpse of the future

This picture of what appears to be a new Mum-Ra figure has shown up on this guys site that is a sculptor for Hasbro. Wonder if this means Hasbro could be getting ready to launch a new line of Thundercat toys to compete with MOTU???!!!!??

I saw this last night at the He-Man.Org Boards - I'm really hoping that this materialises into something, as that figure looks cool!

 

The fact that Hasbro's name has been linked with ThunderCats on more than one occasion and the fact that this sculptor has worked for Hasbro surely can't be a coincidence - can it?!

I would love a new Thundercats line, and that looks like a cool Mumm-Ra too, although I’m not sure I like the head. Still this is great news. If they are indeed making a new Thundercats line, I’d buy everything in the set, I’m a huge Thundercats fan. Maybe now I could finally get The Lunatacs, a Feliner, and a Thunderstrike toys!

this is a surprise move from hasbro but this would definetely change they way they do things! this is something that mcfarlane would do.

I hope this line materializes and I see the Thundertank again!

Though I most definitely question whether or not this sculpt will ever see the light of day as a real figure, I too certainly would love to see a new line out on the shelves. Let's just hope that Mattel doesn't get it in their heads to buy this liscense.... I don't think my poor old heart can take Ninja Lion-O and Drag Queen Mummra everywhere I look when all I want is a Tigra.

Well, I swear to you all the other night I was watching my Tcats cartton collection and I said to myself, wow this needs to be made.

 

So I went to work the next morning, and came on here, and I saw the coolest thing EVER lol. The real reason I started really thinking about how cool the line could be was due to my visit to a site containing pics of the toy fair ( like the ones here) I was looking at guys like Two-Bad etc, when I saw a large blue figure with flame like streamers around him. I knew this was a skeletor variant, but it sort of looked like Mumm-ra and then the seed was planted. I was sad for a was really annoyed for a while that there has been no talk about this , and I am a pessamist, so I will wait to see how this devlops before I start dancing.

I never thought I would see He-Man again...and Mattel surprised us.

I never thought I would see Optimus Prime on Toys R' Us. ..

for us fans, I'd like to keep optimistic about Thundercats figures.

Nobody has been taken in. Nobody has said TC are returning for sure. We are basically just speculating which can be fun sometimes and that sculpt sure looked as if someone is working on something.

I didn't mean to offend anyone though. I would love to see a Thundercats line, and the market is rife with eighties nostalgia and they are a hot property in the comic shops. If it's ever going to happen, now is the time.

 

But the picture looked more like a custom to me, rather than a prototype.

Hmm maybe, but sice it looks like someone made the effort to have that picture pulled tells me its more than a custom, but I guess only time will tell.

Hey Mumm Ra. the picture got take down due to some "strange" reason. Someone said it had to do with some legal issue, but I think that's more of a reason that this is really going to happen.

The sculpt was really good.
