who wants a convention set???

Hey folks,

As many of you know, I am most likely attending the convention this year.... I am getting my money together to put in my order for my attendee package....

But I have an idea...

A few people have PMed me about picking them up a set or two, because I am going... While this might not have made much sense to me before, it might be a good idea now...

If you only want 1 set, you might be able to pool together with some other member here who also wants 1 set, then you could both pay half of what both sets cost together.. I am not sure if it will be possible to get more than 1 Convention attendee exclusive item (most likely a vehicle).. But you can still save some serious cash if you choose to partner up with another member here...

here is how it goes.... for non-members, the set costs 230 bucks (boxed), whether you are attending or not. It is the same amount, and an additional set (bagged) costs 100 bucks... You can not order a bagged set.. they can only be purchased in addition to boxed sets. If you choose to non-attend, they will ship your package to you about a month after the convention....

therefor, 2 sets would be 330, or even less if you go through me... I am going to sign up as a member, so it would be 300 for 2 sets. So if you partnered up with someone, you could get a set for 150 if you only want one, instead of 230 (I guess that depends on the whether you cared about if you got a bagged or boxed set too, as you might not agree to pay 150 for a bagged set).... Personally, I don't care, they are both the same to me...

so who is intersted, seriously interested?

if you need anything else answered, just post it here, as I have been studying the convention information for some time now....

another thing I was thinking about, if you want me to pick something up for you other than the convention set.. This will be the biggest selection of Joe toys that any of us have ever seen.. 18,000 square feet of dealers I believe... So if you are looking for something, they have to have it there.

It depends. If one of the three job interviews I took this week pan out Ill DEFINATELY be interested. Ill get back on this ASAP.

If anyone out there is the praying sort I could certainly use a little help. Not as much as the brave folks shipping out soon, but a good word to the big guy could help right about now.

Hey clammy, I'm definitely interested!! I don't mind getting a bagged set, it's just I'd like to have the file cards too. I just think I could scrape up 150 bucks alot quicker than I could 230 bucks. But yeah; I'd love for you to get me a set! :D

Thank you Devil Bat. I really hate to even ask. But you know what they say about desperate times and drastic actions.

Back to the topic, I would REALLY be much more comfortable if we had SOME sort of idea what we're in for on a VISUAL level as soon as the announcement was made. I mean Im not asking to see fully painted prototypes but SOME sort of artistic rendition or even a photoshopped picture of the original molds or SOMETHING. Im really not comfortable with the notion of pledging over a hundredd bucks for something Ive never even SEEN. Id prefer to know EXACTLY what Im getting into.

I want to buy both sets. What's our deadline?

the deadline is when they run out... I am not too comfortable about waiting too long.. who knows if they will run out, then i will get stuck paying 20-30 bucks per figure on ebay, and only getting a couple

and that's whyCLAM, i would want you to pick those babies up for me'8)' i just don't want the pressure of trying to hurry up and save because you know they will defiantely be at the convention.

Yeah, Clam. If we buy them through you, you buy them at the convention, right? So we just need to get you the cash before then?

NO. NO. NO.

Brian Savage told me that they will NOT be for sale at the Convention. He told me that every order needs to be placed by the mail-in form. Even if they did sell them at the convention, chances are they would be sold out within hours.... Remember, there is a limit on the amount they produced.. I think they only made 750 boxed sets total, and about 350 bagged sets...

So if you do not pre-order your set, then you are out of luck.

If anybody doesn't believe that, please email mastercollector and ask them that same question.. I am curious too if they actually will, if they have left overs.

So if anybody wants their set, even if you want two sets, you can have me pick them up for you, and it will save you money cause I am joining the club, meaning it will be 300 for 2 sets, instead of 230... Plus, I could ship your sets to you when I get home, rather than waiting a month after the convention...

But I do need to know relatively soon if you want to order some and if you can get the money together.

BUMP

C'mon, I know there is more than this who want a convention set... Or do you guys just want to wait until they are on ebay for 25 bucks for the vipers figures and 50 for the single characters?

It is unreasonable for you to ask money from people for a set that absolutely none of us have seen to decide if any of us even want one for sure.
He's just giving you a chance to get in early. It's possible that they could be sold out by the time you see photos of the set, considering the popularity of last year's set.

There were plenty left afterwards last year; they didn't sell out fast.

true enough, but how many here regret not getting them when they first came out and are forced to pay a small fortune to get it now ?? i would say atleast a quarter of those people or gonna do everything possiable to make sure they are not stuck out this year.

unreasonable??? I am trying to hook you guys up.. I know nobody has seen pics, but by the time the pics come out, it might be too late for everyone to try and scramble to get them..

If anyone here wants a set, it would normally cost them 230 for one set, 330 for two..

I am giving people the chance to get a set for around 150. It could be more or less, depending on if you cared whether you get the boxed set or the bagged.. So if anyone knew that they wanted 1 set, this is the opportunity for them.
