Suppossedly there is.Personally I'm kind of excited from what I heard it might be a Cobra set.Though I'd rather have a new joe base it's about time Cobra got something. After all Joe had 3 bases,an aircraft carrier,a mobile command center,The General(one of my favorite large Joe vehicles btw),the Defiant shuttle complex, and a few more. What all did Cobra have? The Terrordrome.Sure there's more than one(if you go by comic continuity)but still only one Cobra playset? They got screwed if you ask me.

I'm betting it will be a micro maching base or something but it's been rumoured it will be a huge cobra base. like the he-man and turtle sets.

Lets not understimate the Terrordrome here. That has to be the coolest playset ever in my opinion. Second is the General. That one was also awesome. Alot of people give the Flagg credit because it was 7 feet long. But it was mostly just a big hunk of plastic.

I think the should do a new set for both Joe and Cobra. I mean, think of the posibilities of an updated Terrordrome. Or an updated General? Or just making the General over again because mine is in pieces.

If it was just a huge chunk of plastic, then so many people wouldnt be giving it credit, would they? Do not be so quick to dismiss it.

In essence, ALL Joe toys are just hunks of plastic. Including the Terrordome and General. It still doesnt impact the fond memories of all the hours of enjoyment they derived. Give me a sturdy well thought out hunk of plastic over a gimmick ridden joke any day

Everytime I look at the FANG III or the HISS IV, Id rather NOT think of the possibilities the current think tank in Rhode Island could come up with. "comes with parts so you can disguise it as a JOE base!" "Mind controlling SLIME chamber" "Bungee jumping platform with SOUND ATTACK" "Comes with Cobra BUTT-Viper (Biomechanical Unit Trained for Troubleshooting) with LEGO compatible arms!"

Actually, the playset (Conquest of Cobra Mountain) that's coming in with Wave 8 is rumored to be pretty big. (Rumored 1 per case.) I don't think it'll be Terrordome-size, though.

If you look at Wave 8, it has all of it's slots filled (12x two -packs).

Wave 8:

Duke vs. Pit Viper

Faces vs. Zartan

Gears vs. Cobra Commander

Gung-Ho vs. Zarana

Heavy Duty vs. Heavy Water

Ripcord vs. Tele-Viper

So don't expect a mini-vehicle size package.

The reason is quite simple: The new GI Joes are a shade bigger than the old ones, and sometimes don't fit well in old vehicles/playsets.

Just my quick two cents in agreement, since there is only one of these things per case and it's coming with the wave of figures, it would seem like it's obvious that it's going to be a fairly big playset.

Cobra Mountain...hm...well, hopefully it won't just be a giant soundtab outlet sticking into a big mountain mold @-@

(Actually I think it'll be pretty cool, but we'll see, won't we? :D )

The logical solution: Make all newer Joes go back to a construction that accomodates the old vehicles. After careful analysis, theres really no outfit design and level of sculpting on a JvC figure today that cant be accomplished with RAH proportioned arms and torsos. And it would make sense on a financial level as they could now freely swap parts between RAH and JvC molds for special occasions like Collector sets. Easier tgo to the moutain than to make the mountain come to you by making bigger vehicles and playsets and doing stupid changes like leaving the gunner station canopy off the Rattler. Vehicles WILL get reissued so work WITH them, rather than make them adapt to needless changes.

Sadly, Hasbro doesnt operate by logic though.

I'm scared. I just hope they don't screw us over by giving us molded styrofoam.

That's not very logical either. To redo the shapes of the sculpt half way through the line would end the series becouse it would be starting over again.

They are staying this way now, we can just hope they improve on the quality.

That's like saying o-rings restarted the line again, which it sort of did. It made many people get back into Joe who hated T-crotches.

JvC has NO identity. Meaning there is no uniformity. There is no set size, no set set of features.... nothing. Each Wave is different. So it's like starting over with EVERY Wave.

Anyway, what Doc says is also what I've been saying for a whiles now, but like he says, Hasbro doesn't want to do it in a way which, in what I see, IS the easier way of doing things.

With RAH and JvC being more proportionate to each other, the JvC figures would have an armada of vehicles and accessories at their disposal, as well as any new JvC stuff. Hell, if they can release some stupid Johnny Quest repaints as Joe vehicles, the can re-release more RAH vehicle repaints.

There is basic uniformity and yes the 0-rings have restarted it once, can you imagine doing that again? It just won't work sorry. They are replacing t-crotchs now imangine replacing all the new figs with old style ones... and nothing would be compatable to swap anyways. It would be new rah figs, it ain't happening.

If you haven't noticed the newer figs seem to fit rah alot better with each wave. I even got some wave 5 figs in my night rhino! I was shocked!

I don't think you got what I (and Doc - correct me if I'm wrong, Doc) was trying to say.

I'm not saying go back to RAH-style Joes. Even though I would LOVE for this to happen, I know it never will. I'm at least realistic in this respect.

With that said, though they won't be RAH-style, they can be designed, sculpted, molded, and manufactured to be more proportionate to RAH, right?

Keep the detailing (which isn't a big deal to me, RAH had enough details for me) and all those crazy new joints but just sculpt them better to be more proportionate to RAH, is all.
