question FTWP, besides snake eyes....

i've ran across this same dilemma since i was a kid and played with my joes. who on the g.ijoe team besides Snake Eyes could kick Storm Shadows butt? even though i think SS could take SE in a fight it always seems like the logical match up. but i get tired of putting these two together and i like to put other joes against SS. i do make Duke beat on SS occasionaly but i don't know just how unbias that is'8)' so i need some ideas for some good matchups with SS. and please nobody say Spirit, i never did buy that whole cartoon rival they had':roll:'

for me,, I never let anyone beat Storm Shadow in a hand-to-hand fight.. Nobody, never.

 

StormShadow was never one of my favorite characters, but I always believed that he was the best fighter out of all the GiJoe characters.. I even made him always beat Snake Eyes in battle, even thoug Snake Eyes was always my first or second favorite. To me, Stormy was the ultimate ninja, and Snake Eyes was a wannabe ninja, but the best overall combatant of all GiJoe characters... I let Snake Eyes win, only when weapons were involved because he used alot more weaponry that Stormy.

 

It just seemed better that way, you can't have the good guys be the best all the time, where is the fun in that.

The only person to ever give my stormy problems is se. Sometimes scarlet will try to aid se in the fight too.

 

Nunchuck gets the crap knocked out of em everytime.

 

As for dice, in my universe nunchuck was stormy's apprentice before stormy went a little nuts after being exposed to some of mindbendters mutation chemicals in a broken lab. After he switched he got a new apprentice slice. Recently Slice did something similiar to what stormy recently did in the new comic, cept slice was on a suicide mission and took out several joes, anyways he wouldn't work well.

 

Now, i do have him try to handle mindbenders monsters that go awol.

I think people seriously underestimate western hand-to-hand combat and seriously overestimate the 'ninja powers'. In my opinion, almost anyone who appeared bad ass (Stalker, Wet Suit, Flint) could challenge or beat Storm Shadow. To me, he's just a guy in a white costume who can't decide who he wants to fight with.

Aside from maybe Snake Eyes, I'd have to say possibly Serpentor (his body was cloned of the same DNA, after all), possibly Firefly, hmm.

 

Maybe Captain Grid-Iron would have a shot, since he's the Hand to Hand Combat Specialist and all :lol:

 

Otherwise, I'd be hard-pressed to see anyone else defeating Storm Shadow in a hand to hand fight. I certainly cannot see pretenders like Slice, Dice, any of the Night Creepers, Jinx, et al beating Thomas Arashikage.

 

Truly, I can only see other Arashikage masters who have also had extensive military training at or near his level...and that leaves only Snake Eyes, Serpentor, and Firefly...and Serpentor's dead.

Well, it depends if you mean a purely hand-to-hand fight. If so, then yeah, I think Serpentor might have a chance, but his arrogance and overconfidence would lead him to not be careful enough, and would probably result in him getting beaten by Storm Shadow. If it were not purely a hand-to-hand fight, then any Joe in a tank could probably beat him (although he did single-handedly destroy a tank with his bare hands in one episode of the cartoon, but that was an inert tank with no one in it). My money, though, would go on the pilots - Ace, Slip Stream, etc. Stormy's fast, but I doubt he could outrun a missile or the radius of damage caused by a powerful bomb. In other words.... Ace drop bomb, Storm Shadow go "Boom!"

Here is one scene that I didn't like from the classic cartoon:

It was in the episode where Quick Kick just beats the crap out of Storm Shadow in the snow. Quick Kick wasn't that great. How can he beat Storm Shadow? What an insult. I think the only person that can beat Stormshadow is himself.

in away i agree with TOM because i think guys like Roadblock and Gungho what they lack in martial arts they make up with muscle and could get in a lucky blow that would turn the tide of a fight between them....

Sometimes scarlet will try to aid se in the fight too.  

 

Once Scarlett and Storm Shadow did actually have a real battle, but it was more Scarlett attacking Storm Shadow than an actual fight. Scarlett had just come out of a coma, thanks to the Baroness shooting her in the head, to find that Storm Shadow had sent Snake-Eyes on a "suicide-mission" by way of an Arisakaiage mindset into the war torn country of Borovia to rescue an American in the gulags. This prisoner was the fiance of Snake-Eyes' deceased sister. The reason Storm Shadow did this was because Scarlett had a very dismal prognosis and was believed to be nearly dead. Snake Eyes wasn't funtioning very well, so Storm Shadow wanted to "keep him busy." When Scarlett found out what Tommy had done to Snake Eyes while she was in a coma, she had a battle with him on a subway system, while Storm Shadow was already being attacked by US goverment assasins. The result of this was Scarlett giving Storm Shadow quite a knife wound in the back.

Roadblock If you look at the later episodes With Serpentor in the intro it show's R.B. takeing out Storm Shadow. Good match if S.S. can keep R.B. at a distince S.S. whould win But if R.B. could get in He'd have a chance, might not be a big chance, but it's still a chance.

Yup. And you also have to factor in who wants to win more. How hardcore would SS go (or any of them, but I'll use SS in this post)?

 

Would he deliver a knee shattering blow to RB or any of the big men? Size means dick if you can't even stand up right. And don't underestimate SS's power. His punches and kicks could probably break bones and could knock you the f**k out.

 

And on the flip side, would RB snapped SS puny neck the first chance he got?

 

Believe it or not, it matters. The more dirty and hardcore you are, the better your chances are at winning a fight.

yeah CLAM, i'm not saying a defiant win but kinda what Halfrican says...say you got Jet Li vs Mike Tyson, LI is defiantely a better fighter but it would probably take numerous blows to take Tyson out from him. now if you saw Tyson's last fight you know he still has the ability to deliver a onehitterquiter and if he's able to connect with that it might take LI's buck-0-five butt....just maybe

In my Universe, no one can really beat Storm Shadow. But once, he had Shockwave on the edge of a cliff, and Roadblock sucker punched him from the side and knocked him out.

 

Roadblock so cool. In my universe, he's always like "Those damn Cobra cracka's, I'm going to kill them fools."

 

Why, oh why, did the Palisades bust for him have to suck. On the other hand, the Storm Shadow one is awesome. It looks great on my entertainment center.

Well if we are talking cartoon then Spirit seemed to have Storm Shadows number and Quick Kick as well. In the Marvel series Storm Shoadow beat the hell out of Quick Kick. I think Snake-Eyes is the only one who can take SS in one-on-one hand to hand combat.

Chazz has the idea. You've got to Count all factor's. Who's angry, who's more determined, Who's on defense, who's on offense. Like if S.S. was angry it might cloud his judgement. Or if R.B. was trying to save someone, and to do so he'd have win, he'd probably be more determined to win.

I disagre I think Stalker would have a better chance then Flint or Wet-Siut. Stalker know's S.S., so he probably know's his weakness. And I'm sure being friend's with S.E. and S.S. he's learned some of there skill's.

Depends, SS speed may be an avantage over the big guys since he can land 5 blows in a slow amount of time. He can also use his enemie's strenght as a weakness. I should know since I am studying judo and jujitsu.
