Got the new Conquest!!

I found the new conquest tonight!! YAHOOOOOO!!!!

This is one sweet jet. I really like the colors of it unlike most. The fins are painted to evenly match up with paint on the body of the plane. I only wish they had painted the bottom of it too instead of leaving it white.

I must ssay I love Slipstream too. I didn't think I'd like the tan/cream color, but it goes well with the plane. The new head sculpt is sweet too. I really like it.

Anyone wanting to sell their slipstream for a reasonable price, contact me.

I really have to agree in liking the Conquest. I think that the green, black, and cream camo deco works really well. As for Slipstream...I'm about 1000% happier with this figure than I thought I would be. Also, it is not like the original Slipstream was that much to write home about, with his HUGE head and silly mustache.

Be perfect if the skies were creme green and black. Who the HELL is goona land a jet in a forest, where the colors would actually be usefull?

BZZT, Wrong. It was a great figure. If you think this thing's head sculpt is better, you may need to get an eye exam.

with his HUGE head and silly mustache.

First off, are you even AWARE that helmets can be pretty BIG things? Protection is the name of the game with these babies. Of course his head is going to be larger than a normal head. That happens in real life when you put on a helmet all the time. Its better than the helmet wearers of this day. Duke, Wild Weasel, Snow Serpent and Blowrtorch have to be utter PINHEADS to wear those tiny helemts. Second, the mustache is perfectly okay. Its certainly better than the flood of goatees we've bee subjected to of late.

According to this comment then, all planes should be sky blue or white. Black and gray are no longer acceptable.

How can you say his opinion is wrong? :-?

I seriously understand that you are just replying to my opinion with your own...but how is they any point at all to responding to a post if you are just going to violently disagree to every point made? I understand that there is a lot you don't like about the JvC line and you are completely allowed to feel that way, but you don't need to snap at everyone every time a positive point about new JvC product is made. Your tone and reply to almost any post that is made on this forum is unnecesarily argumentitive, rude and petty. :D:D:D

So... how much is this thing going for, and is it a TRU exclusive, or availible pretty much everywhere?

(which reminds me... has anyone spotted a desert camo NAC at their local TRU? I'd get it from Walmart but I have a nice fat TRU giftcard that I'd love to use towards buying it. Problem is... I haven't seen it there yet! :x )

I just pointed out the truth and the fallacies behind your statements. Your statements were clearly in error and someone had to correct you.

I understand that there is a lot you don't like about the JvC line and you are completely allowed to feel that way,

Except for me of course. Nice double standard

but you don't need to snap at everyone every time a positive point about new JvC product is made.

Once again you are wrong. Ive let many, many comments slide by without adressing. And someone has to keep reminding people that they deserve higher quality toys, which they arent getting. Ive even given the occasional credit where it was due. So if you think all I due is attack people when something positive was said about JvC, then I suggest getting you HEAD examined as well as your eyes

Ill advise agaisnt the personal attacks. I could really rip into you if I wanted to. And I will if pressed.

Really? How so? I lurk on this forum far more than I actually post, so whatever you could possibly have to comment on my "history of posting" would be conjecture based on most likely the first post of mine you ever actually noticed. As for the threat of you "ripping into me" just because I defend myself when given countless third grade comments like "have your head examined," I'm far from frightened. If I wanted to waste my time in some machismo internet battle of words and insults, I would as I am very good at that sort of thing myself. I would much rather utilize this forum to read and post messages of some constructive matter that actually relate to G.I. Joe, than engage in some pointless and anticlimatic flamewar.

If I had said something about your history you would have a point. However the subject was about the X-30.

As for the threat of you "ripping into me"

Wasnt a threat. Simply a statement of fact. I was actually cutting you some slack there.

Pointless flamewar? You were unjustly slamming toys I liked from a line I loved. And as any good fan should I stood up for them.

And only POSITIVE comments are to be allowed? Again, a nice double standard. I guess No one should EVER be allowed to post unless theyre praising the Hasbro gods for cheap substandard toys.

im sorry you dont approve, but I will NOT shut up and will continue to defend quality because by God someone needs to tell people not to become complacent with mediocrity just because it has the GI Joe label. People have a right to quality and im going to remind them of it wether they want it or not

And as for the 85er comment, if that means feeling everyone deserve the best quality toys and insists Hasbro stay true to the standards they themselves set that made 3 3/4" Joe great in the first place, then I guess I am one. Thank God there are still some of us left.

Doc is into RAH and some of the jvc gimmlecks or so it seems.

Yes. Im into RAH because Im into sturdy plastic, universally compatible parts for customizers and vehicles that dont look bloated due to gimmicks. And I have most certainly given JvC credit where its due. I *LIKE* almost all of the costume concepts. I like the new non Crap Attack weapons. And as long as I ignore the "Grudge Match" crap Hama is being forced to write in, the filecards are the best since 98. And even though theyre implementing it badly, I even like the Spy Troops base concept. At least for the figures. Hell, Ive even said positive things About the Rattler and the Road Rebel (Once you do a little work on them.) so dont EVER presume to tell me Im some sort of a hatemonger

But I guess all that is to be conveniently ignored because I refuse to bow down and kiss Hasbro's feet for stuff that CAN be easily improved. It bothers me not only when I see something Ive loved two thirds my life isnt being treated with the respect it desrves, but when I see people happily buying it. Can you people possibly understand how it FEELS? Its like youre DANCING on RAH's grave

So fine. Villify me for giving a damn. Yeah, im biased. Show me a person who ISNT.

Get used to it

Damn straight you better get used to it. Because untill Hasbro sharpens up and starts treating, product, the fans and the consumers with respect Im going to be there giving a damn and insistng on a product I know Hasbro can make, I aint shutting up for NOBODY

So THAT'S it.

LOL Don't let Doc phase ya, Emma. If you know anything about him, it's that he has the uncontrollable urge to remind us all of the 'olden days', as if he were some 1940s era grandpa  There are alot of times the guy has a point (Unless it's when he says opinions are wrong  ) but if I ever get upset with anything he has to say... I soothe myself with the knowledge that JvC is here now and RAH aint coming back

I like the idea of being an '85er. That's neat. That was a cool year. How about a '83er, '84er, etc.?

New stuff is ok, I give them credit for trying, but I will always agree with Doc that the design of today's stuff is that of letting Fisher Price have a hand in making toy soldiers. And I think the goatess are a bit fishy on GvC figures.

trust me DOC, you are not alone  i will never accept less especialy when i know they can do better! it pisses me of that 85% of the JVC line is crap when i know they have the means to make it better. i for one never believed the old mold excuse. no one is asking them to use old molds, just make new molds with the same quality. i mean, are all the creators of the original molds dead and buried with the secrete formula to creating cool molds :-? it just doesn't make since for this line to suck as much as it does. yeah i like some JVC stuff but they are so far and between it doesn't even feel like "collecting" because i only buy what i like. two months ago i spent almost $700 on RAH stuff, IN ONE MONTH! all that money could have went on JVC stuff if it was decent.

and it's not living in the past if you like RAH because to me RAH are still the action figures of the future. JVC looks like they were the ones that came out 20 years ago before decent plastic were discovered while RAH still look like it's a new line with inventive and well thought out figures. i also hatemost of the hands on JVC figures, they feel rubbery :x even though RAH thumbs could break atleast you had the option if you were careful to adjust the hands to fit the weapons. poor JVC dr.mindbender, has cool guns but will never get to hold them :(

pointblank JVC could be alot better and there is no excuse to why it's not only for hasbro to save a couple of bucks by cutting some serious quality corners. i realy don't understand how anybody that grew up with RAH thinking this line is acceptable.

NO.

As I've said before, I am NOT oblivious to JvC and it's flaws. They glare at me like a rhino with a taste for blood... Do you think I like sound attack, the awful vehicles and infrequent construction of the Joes? No... but, I refuse to allow stress and aggrivation into my hobby. I then find myself with two very obvious choices - Collect, or do not.

If someone feels that JvC is inferior, more power to them. I strongly believe in the 'vote with your wallet' mentality, and if that's what people want to do, then go right ahead. I on the other hand look past the flaws and accept the JvC stuff as some very cool, very new toys.

The fact of the matter is Hasbro is making money from JvC, and it's here to stay. RAH has taken a step back in importance, even in regard to the 12" stuff

Now.... I had ten, fifteen years (personally) of GREAT GI Joe toys... and I have come to the conclusion that that chapter of GI Joe is over for me. Hasbro has yet to come out with anything new or interesting in RAH terms... so to me, the line has ended. JvC is here now, it's brand new, it's different, and it's mine to judge as I see fit.

Just by looking at the pictures at YoJoe.com, I'd have to agree on the first part. I have don't have v1 SlipStream but it doesn't look that great in the pic. They could have done it better. The head mold is only OK. Lift Ticket is only OK too.

It looks like Hasbro didn't do molded-on helmets too well every single time. In the following year, Dodger looks much better. The helmet is clear and defined.

Don't get me wrong, if Hasbro released a v1 SlipStream repaint, I'd love to have it (as well as Lift Ticket).

And as far as the "silly mustache", I don't think it looks too bad. It's good that some figures had facial hair. The clean-cut-look looks good, but it's nice to have variety.

"Big head" is only because of helmet.
