I HATE IT! HATE IT! HATE IT!!

 

Argh... Again, here we go with the Damsel in Distress b/s with the famous and may I say weak as hell, April O'Neil.

 

For someone who's supposed to be a smartarse scientists assistant, sure hasn't done anything to bright in the Episode...

 

• She sneaks into the office.

[*]Hacks into Stockman's system.

[*]Opens files she's not authorized to open. (breaking quite a few laws there.)

[*]Actually goes inside a mysterious elevator not knowing where it would lead.

[*]Thinking that she could just walk into the factory without triggering some sort of security system/being caught on tape.

[*]And actually believing she'd get away with it.

And this my friends is only with her and the lab.. I have more mistakes she made while being in the sewers but I think I've made my point.

 

Another thing that bugs me about her is the fact she's so afraid of some 6 inch ACTION FIGURES! They really exaggerated the power of the mousers this time. Being able to go through concrete and all is impressive, but they're not that fast nor are they built to withstand a blow to the legs. Take out the mousers Legs and it's immobilized. Not only that, but for something that can chomp through steal, sure does have a hard time biting through Leo's Sword.. Not to mention Donetello's wooden Bo... Don't ya think?

 

Last thing I'm going to complain about is April's Scream.... more like a whimper. That was far from a scream of sheer terror. Even in the catacomb like sewers, a scream that weak could not be heard unless the turtles where 5ft away at the time.

 

Ok, I'm going to stop myself before I get flamed or I get too carried away. I know I'm being one sided about April but I watched every second of the episode and I know this is based on the comics but come on! She lives in New York! The toughest city known. You'd think she'd carry a tazor or a gun.. SOMETHING!!

 

*slaps forehead hard* Ow.. oii.. I'm going on again. Well, Let me know about your two cents on the subject. (This is very unlike me but I'm apologizing a head of time to any "April Lovers" out there. I know how it is to have your fav char dissed to hell like this but she deserves it. )

well i have no complaints about the show so far... i'm pretty sure i will sooner or later but as for now, i still like what they've shown. oh did you guys catch the beginning when don was saying about mikey "eating pizza"? hmmm foreshadow? if they do bring pizza to the toon, i don't want them to get carried away with it.

I loved the episode though.. But I was extremely disappointed with the fact that April is still a weakling. You'd think they'd update her like they did with the Turtles and Casey.

Never like a character because of how he/she looks. Like the character for the personality their given. I like Raphael to the max, but unless they paint themselves one shade of green, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart without their ninja colors.. But thankfully, they're all different shades of green so I can tell Raphael from the others. But Psyically, they all look alike so looks serve me little to no use here.

 

I can't say Raphael is hot without admitting that the others are too. So when it comes to looks, I like them all equally.

 

But then again, a male who likes a character because she's "hot"... would't understand what I'm trying to get across..

Which is, Looks don't matter when it comes to characters..

 

Take Edward Sissor Hands for example. To the general public, he's an ugly freak of nature. But it turns out that the Jock in the movie, who's dashingly handsome and very popular, is the villain of the movie and gets killed because of his own ignorance.. So looks aren't everything..

 

*growls somewhat and stabs April's VooDoo Doll in the head* I really hate her... She's just so weak and defenseless.. I can just sit on her and she'll whine for help for christ sake. Women like her need to get a freakin' back bone.

Did I say I hated the episode entirely?... No. I loved it aswell. But April seems to bring out the worst in me. Reasons already listed in previous posts.

 

I loved it when Donnie was going on and on about all the electronics in the mousers. Sounded like he was about to have an Orgasm to me... "Geez Donnie.. Why don't you marry one already?" I loved that line!!!

But I feel a need to defend myself. I'm a fan of the original Mirage comics where all of the turtles were the same shade of green. Not only that, but they had the same coloured masks. But it didn't really matter, because the book was black and white!

 

I am only too aware of the importance of 'character' in the TMNT, and even though she has started off as the classic "damsel in distress", if the new cartoon is really taking it's inspiration from the Mirage comics, you'll see April develop as a character. Hopefully you will like who she becomes, and hopefully, you'll give her the chance.

Obviously, you don't know how the world works. Especially with show biz. (The world bases at least half of their culture(s) on looks alone.) A girl can go all her life without lifting a finger or even trying if she's beautiful enough. Don't tell me it doesn't happen cause it does. More women get hired if they're perfect rather then fat and flawed.

 

An actress to be or even a model to be just has to use her body to her advantage, have zero morality about sex and what not and BOOM! She's in, she's making the big bucks and she's getting the life of her dreams.

 

Yes acting and modeling is hard. But the benefits of said careers, doesn't make it as bad as if she was doing it for minimum wage.

Think what you will but the cold harsh reality is that if you got beauty, it's not a curse, it's a bloody god send.

 

I've seen it happen on more then one occaison. I've been dropped for Jobs because I'm not beautiful enough. Some ditzes always get the jobs I want and it's not like I don't try. :evil: :cry:
