TRU Tiger Force - What Crap!

Okay, so I'm out a couple days ago with the few hours I had to myself, looking for toys. I still can't find any Armada, MOTU or GI Joes I don't have. I friggin' hate the stores in my area. :x

 

But, surprisingly, I found one thing of 'interest' - The Tiger Force pack at TRU. I saw it, and despite my complaints, I wanted to give it a chance. I saw Stalker (whom I don't have) and said "Ok, ok, let's give this pack a shot!" so I gave it a quick overview...

 

What a piece of crap. Honestly. Don't even consider saying JvC sucks RAH rulz because this has nothing to do with it. I'm not comparing Sgt Hacker to Dial Tone. I'm judging this pack on it's value in my hands, and what I've seen from RAH and RAHC.

 

The skin is painted on most of them, and is really pink... like pink ranger PINK. Alot of paint smeared onto other areas (hands and shirt cuffs, ankles ect) and some of their legs looked twisted in. It's awful! What happened? I thought RAH stuff was still able to be molded in skin toned plastic and even had a bit more attention put into it? WTF?

 

If anyone bought this piece of trash, I'm sorry for you. Buying one RAH or RAHC toy for the price of those five is a better deal. I hope Hasbro comes out with something good soon, maybe even try to compete with other military toys out there now - what a wacky concept, no?

I saw it and passed for pretty much the same reasons. I already have those guys and don't need 3 or 4 repainted versions of them.

And the 'mortar and brick' TRU version does suck. Mr. Outback's hair is brown instead of the Happy Orange and the figures are all pink like something that's really pink. You can see the variations on Mike's G.I.Joe Page.

I was never in danger of getting it, not a fan of tigerforce, so i would really really hate to get those turds. mmm.... i remember a comment about polishing turds? what about turding the polished.

hey there guys, actually i bought 2 of the sets and i love em:D dont hate me, but i am a fan of all g.i. joes(except for the new spy troops vehicles) but the paint jobs on my tiger force are great. but thats just my 2 cents. @*-

you said the figures you saw looked pink but my Brawler and Dial Tone are as pale as ghost and in fact need a tan. it looks like they've had desk duty for a loooong time Stalker is the coolest but you know already how i feel about that fake a$$ joe Wreckage :x i'm gonna do some custom on him (gonna try atleast 8) ) and turn him into an individual instead of a clone of Fire Fly. find the boy some REAL weapons too :wink:

I had them in hand at TRU as well, and initially passed on them for now, but I will be going back and getting a set as I have a few requests to fill for these and will likely get one extra for myself while i'm at it.

 

Custom fodder and some painting practice will likely be the use i find for these, as all the above sentiments on them are true. Stalker even looks Burgundy colored in his skin tone and they are pretty gruesome (i hated all the Tiger Force crap the first time around) so these offer more of the same silliness and painted with far LESS attention to details. :-?

Hey! Armada is cool! :evil:

 

The cartoon and comic (essentially the 'fiction' of it all) are miserable and below tolerance... Even the COMIC has the three kids in it now. Is Hasbro pushing these twerps or something?

 

But the toys are awesome! Blurr, Supercon Prime, Demolisher... And there are a number of very interesting ones to come.

2) I didn't buy the big Prime. He is the most awful toy in history... but that doesn't mean the line itself sucks. There are some awesome figures to grab, like I mentioned, Blurr, Supercon Prime, Smokescreen, Cyclonus... And upcoming figures like Tidal Wave, Overload, Thrust and Unicron!

Though I have seen the Japanese releases: Six Shot, Hot Rod w/Trailer (Rodimus Prime? I forget), Megatron (saw the black and silver and then silver again, which is the current one), Prowl (or whoever the police car is), Jazz, and 2 more... but I don't know their American names (sorry it's been a whiles since I've paid any attention to any Transformer).

I was gonna get Prime... but that guy was way expensive.... $43.99... I think.

 

I passed on him twice... and the last, last time was recent.

Last time I check they were sold out... and had Starscream... I don't think I could have passed it up the 3rd time.

 

 

And everyone else is like $29.99... yikes!! Crazy expensive. Though, some parts are still die-cast metal (I think).... so it's sorta worth it.

The original Tigerforce was green, brown, orange, tan, and they were all in mostly dark colors. I can't try to ass these guys in with that bright blue and yellow all over them.

TF Recondo could fit into this new set. He's got the green and yellow strips too. As would Frostbite.... really bright yellow.
