Road Rebel and Big Ben...NOT!

Okay...it IS the Road Rebel I just picked-up, but I couldn't deal with yet ANOTHER Big Fricken Ben, so I did some detail painting on the body (due to serious lack of...good job once again H company) and swapped out the head with another favorite head sculpt of mine.

 

Plus the head I chose, had the appropriate helmet to it, that I thought was needed for this particular vehicle, I mean seriously....look at the cannon and tell me it wouldn't rattle your brains and put a permanent ring in yer ears..? This seems to look much better for my tastes! :wink:

Yeah, the gun sucks on that, but when you remove it, you can do some neat stuff with the right Sound Attack weapons. The guns kind of fun to play with when you remove it.

I have this sick obsession with the Big Ben repaints. I can't get enough of them. I wish they would just keep releasing a different one every wave! 8)

Awww..now Tom! It ain't all that bad, as I found out. 8)

 

Maybe a little unrealistic with the big funky lookin' cannon attached to it, but as you will see, once I post Doc's picture of the custom job he's doing on it, it's still a fairly neat little armadillo type mini-tank.

 

Doc used a gun off the Rattler on his I think, and it looks great, so I just threw one off the NAC for mine.

 

 

 

Thanks for the comments there Dustin, but really the custom job in this case, that I wanted to show off, was the figure mostly and the change on it from the used and abused BB head on it to this AIRWAVE head sculpt.

 

 

Thought it looked much better, and even still works with the name AIRWAVE for him.

Well Naz...the visor is (was) always a rather big monstrosity on this figure, but the helmet on it's own without it, looks pretty good (maybe I'll take a picture of it w/o the visor)

As you can see on Doc's Road Rebel, the removing of the gawdy cannon, makes a big improvement on it already, and I like the selection of side cannons for it as well.

 

Appears as though me and Doc had almost the same idea in mind, for the driver though. that custom Captain Grid Iron head and Decimator body looks COOL!

 

I just swapped the head out is all, but Airwave looks better himself in ol' Tomahawks body mold.

The Big Ben figure that comes with the RR is a very cool version no doubt, as I think the Hawk body is one of my favorites, however, they totally missed out on it by NOT finishing the details on this version with a little more paint aps (which you can see I took the liberty of doing myself)

 

and although I agree with you guys on the coolness of Big Ben (a favorite figure of mine as well, but just tired of him already) I wanted to add something else to the RR for a driver...something unique...for me.

 

I like the looks of Docs, self likeness, of a driver figure as well. The Decimator was a cool Cobra pilot figure and the Grid Iron head looks cool with it!
