Who were the enemies from G.I Joe Extreme?

Guess I'm no one.

I *loved* Extreme... not for the way it came across to the public, but for what it *could* have been.

The enemy, SKAR, was admittedly a pale comparison to Cobra, but the Iron Klaw was one of the best villians I've ever seen. Manipulative, barely seen in battle... he posed as a bunch of different people (like Zartan), used his alter-ego in the InterAlliance to gain information and force decisions (Like Palpatine/Sidious in the new Star Wars movies), and he was willing to completely subjugate innocents. He took a wounded US soldier, turned him into a cyborg, faked a "rescue", then told him the US government had made him the monstrosity he was, and used his anger as a wepon for SKAR.

He was a total bad-ass.

Sure, Rampage was nothing but Destro merged with the Hulk, and Inferno was little more than the Joker spliced with a Dreadnok, but Iron Klaw was killer.

The Extreme cartoon was a bit ahead of its time, methinks. The connected and evolving storyline it featured was barely seen at the time, but is now standard practice in more action-oriented shows. The first season was a great opener, with spotlights on all the main characters, and a five-part finale that climaxed with SKAR actually achieving its goal!

When GIJoe beat them back, the climactic battle changed the status quo of the show for Season 2, with Iron Klaw posing as the leader of the Joe team, Clancy!

Lotsa good stuff that was hampered by a severely lackluster toyline, and a less-than-inspired comic.

This has been discussed elsewhere I'm sure, but i would love to see ALL factions of G.I.Joe brought into the toyline for ARAH or JvC.

The characters of Sgt. Savage and Extreme or even the generic type figures of the AT line made into 3 3/4" Joes with the focus being on the "adventure" accessories to go along with them.

I've incorporated the figures of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat and even a variety of customized CORPS figures, into my collection and displays, as I love variety and mass numbers for my toy hobby. :D

Skar and the members of the Savage line would be cool to see redone in 3 3/4" scale...IMO! (Blasphemy be damned)

GI Joe Extreme's main enemy was the fact the Rob Liefeld/Image craze was winding down.

Not to mention most of the characters were copied directly from RAH

- Square-jawed, straight shooting commander with a blonde crewcut (Lt Stone/Duke)

- Redhaired intelligence agent who can take care of herself (Mayday/Scarlett)

- Blonde ninja (Black Dragon/Snake-Eyes)

- Large bald black guy with exceptional strength (Freight/Roadblock)

- Sharpshooter who sounds like Dirty Harry (Ballistic/Low-Light0

- Blonde heavy firepower specialist named after a musical genre (Heavy Metal/Rock & Roll)

- Nefarious enigmatic villain who hides behind a metal mask (Iron Claw/Cobra Commander)

SKAR even had B.A.T. knockoffs.

And of course the aforementioned Inferno, who was basically Torch with Road Pig's mental instability.

The toys were fairly sturdy, Ill give them that. The line might also have been good with another name, but it didnt quite have the sparkof RAH.

But Viper Hunter's idea of working them back into 3 3/4" form is not without merit

I to liked the Extreme line, the storie was great it had, an ultumate bad guy (iron klaw) who got the mission done. not like Cobra failing at every atempt. We did not get to see the whole storie unfold, yes cobra was a large organazation that took 11 years to get there, Extreme olny ran one year.

I think if the line had been in the original scale and with the classic Joe posability, it probably would have done well. The Star Wars articulation and action gimmicks killed it. I also thought the cartoon was pretty good, especially for it's time.

Weren't the GVC Claws based off of Iron Klaw? I always thought Quickstrike and mayday were focused on since they always go into the Skar base and kick everyone's butt. Also in Extreme, the main bad guy wasn't one person. First, he was some rich guy (gi joe capture's him), then he was the US president, Clancy (brainedwashed to become Iron Klaw, then after that Klaw was just Klaw. As for the main guy, was he Savage or Stone cause I am not really sure.
