a paint job on an action figure is worth retail of that action figure period

Watch the language little boy... There are ladies present and yea...

You make a decent custom/repaint and people will pay...

I've seen a grand go for Star Wars customs for figures that were never made...

Not sure about joes, but these are examples of things ppl will pay a few K's for if the customs look genuine enuf. There are lots of ignorant ppl on ebay and you can try your luck ... ;)

1. Vlix

2. Dual Telescoping Vader/Ben - and it's just the saber that needs to be customized.

3. Rocket firing Fett? - ppl do pay a few C's for this, even knowing it's custom.

As for repaints, most ppl probably makes $ 50 or more per day working, but depending on the detail of the repaint, it'll take more than a day so it's still a bargain.

i just bought a 6" custom BATMAN for about 35 bucks off of ebay. it had about 20 points of articulation,a leather cape, and was made to look like the early 90's style from the comic. truth is i would have paid $50 for it just because there hasn't been a decent batman with articulation since the days of the super powers line, let alone a batman that had articulation like the marvel legends. point is, if there's a custom that's never been produced than people will pay to finally see it made. i just can't wait until feb. when dc direct releases the box set that includes a pretty articulate batman and robin finally :)-

The Rocket Firing Fett can be a custom but was an actual figure that got pulled from the shelves cause of the rocket that kids could choke on...

They do exist and cost some decent money to have...

I couldn't see myself paying much at all for a custome unless it was realy good and i for sure wouldn't pay over 15, course i'm cheap.

i've gotten some customs that weren't worth crap!! i've gotten some that fell apart when i tried to pose them or even had there joints stick together because of a sloppy paint job. it's kinda made me stay away from them lately but if i see one i really want like that batman, than i usually email a bunch of questions on the item before i bid on them.
