I have wave III In My Hand

Ok I know have the Wave three figures in my hand, all but the repaints that is. I am going to post pictures later but I thought I would address some things about them now. Keep in mind these are product samples so the final versions you see on the shelves may differ some.

Baroness - The face looks alot better in person then in the pictures we have seen. I quess she is tring to update her image though because she has red highlights mixed in with her black hair.I actually like the face and glasses better than the orginal. Now it seem Baroness wants to be a model because she has lost alot of weight since her orginal figure. I think the Black and grey mixture actually works here. Her feet look like she has some thick boots on, don't let her get you to bend over so she can kick you with these on. The weapons aren't that great. The two riffles have sound tech on them and ar black and she comes with a piston that is grey and looks to be a variation the orginal Major Bludd gun. She also has the same backpack as the orginal Baroness had. Overall I would give this a B.

Snake-Eyes - Much better than the JvC version1. The new angle joints are very very tight. So titght I havn't been able to get them to move yet. No Uzi but luckly I have a spare. He hs a sword with and holder like the JvC version1. The color scheme does not bother me though I know some do not like the pruple, but to me it doesn't really stand out so it doesn't bather me. My real only complaint with this figure is the lines on his visor are kind of crooked. This may be because its an early production peice though. I give it an A if they fix the visor and a B if they don't.

Cobra Commander - Well what can I say. If you like the JvC version 1 but only thought it needed an o-ring you are going to love this one. He has his classic pistol back, to bad they didn't include the holder on his back like the orginals. The staff is cool except they stuck Sound Tech on it. They olso got rid on the knife on his leg with the cobra handle and shrunk his cobra belt buckle some. I am gonna only give this one a C mostly because if they were gonna go to the trouble of making another Cobra Commander figure I would have rather seen them make it mor like the one in the comic or beter yet give him a battle helmet.

I will most some more reviews later.

I found an alley viper repaint last weekend. The red and black one that is.

It was sweet. What wave is that a part of?

I actually didnt think I would like that paint scheme that much but it does look good with some crimson guards.

Still prefer the blue and grey one from 1.5 better.

Ugh.. I feel sick... Phanstar is not healthy.

What's wrong, Phanstar? I hope you're alright. You haven't eaten any Jumbalaya lately have you?

The Red Alley Viper is in Wave 2. He does look really nice in the Red Color, I still like the Wave 1.5 Alley Viper better though. Alley Vipers Rock! :)

Yo JayC...

Why not have Septembers contest be either you win $50.00 or win the wave III figures you have...

It's worth a shot...  :D

I would rather have the $50 BBTS credit. There's no telling what JayC does with his figures! @-@

I ordered the Scarlett/Storm Shadow and Flint/Baroness 2-packs yesterday, and I hope they arrive soon. Baroness is still a disappointment for me. How hard is it to do a simple and nice color scheme, and give her hair? Flint, on the other hand, is still my favorite fom the new series. SS looks better in black and white than he does in white with red leotards. I was also going to get the new blue Viper, but they're all on Ebay and no reissue is worth it.

Last I heard I think wave 3 was due out in Nov but all the previous waves have shipped early it seems so who knows. Here are some pics of the new Barroness I took with her standing next to her sister ;) The Chameleon which is basically the orginal Baroness sculpt. You should be able to tell the red highlights from these pics and at least to me how the mixture of grey and black actually seem to work. You can also see the new Baroness is much thiner than the orginal.

The gray and black outfit does look good in that picture. The head doesn't look quite right though. The paint application seems off or something. Is that the prototype or the finished product?

Hey Morb, what is Kebco's shipping like? I mostly order from BBTS, since they have a flat shipping rate and offer the waves in package deals (All figs in one wave offered in one order) But if Kebco is better I'll change my trusted on-line store policy :D

Shipping Charges for GI Joe 2002 figures

3.75 inch figures : 1 to 3 figures $5.95 4 to 7 figures $6.95 8 to 11 figures $7.95 12 to 15 figures $8.95

I ordered from KebCO because they offer what I want individually, and I don't have to pre-order a case or a set in order to get the figures I want. BBTS will only offer them individually after their release, and then there's no guarantee that the ones you want will even be in stock any more.

Excellent comparison shot's, and I believe the original Barroness is a much better version still. The new figures are just too dang skinny, "stick-figure" looking in all their body parts, except the shoulders, and the Barroness is afflicted just the same here.

I may amass an army of secretaries that work for the original Barroness or something goofy like that  but this new version will NOT work as a newer "better" version of her..for my Joes minds-eye!
