I will wait and see. I will definitely buy Prime and Starscream and I will see about the rest. I'm not fond of red Alert and Perceptor, which, balances out my enthusiasm for Prime and Starscream, and of course, Megatron :)

I don't think ARMADA is going to be 8) as big as RID, so I am not buying all of em like RID, Just Optimus, that's it, I dont' even like Megatron, or Starscream, by the pictures, they look awful. THE CARTOON will make me decide if it's worth it.

I'll buy them all, even the Mini-Cons! I'm a completist who must have everything, but aside from that I think they all look cool and I don't think being gimmicky is a bad thing. It adds play value, making the little kids more interested in buying.

I might buy one or two (so that's what I voted), but I'm leaning towards not.

Of the figures shown so far, only Starscream holds any appeal at all, really, and even he's got major flaws as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not one to say the G1 figs were perfect, far from it. Little poseability, some had fragility issues, plenty of parts had to be detached and had no storage place on the figures, etc. But they had some very appealing aspects that have been largely missing from subsequent lines, and even later G1 offerings: real world vehicles, die cast parts, no extra gimmicks.

Sure, it's cool that Optimus has sounds and his trailer transforms automatically... but does he have to look so stupid?

Future Armada figures might tempt me, but I remain in doubt.

Looking forward to seeing what comes AFTER Armada.

I have to agree - I dont know where it comes from, but if I buy one of something, it feels sort of wrong without the rest of a certain line. Besides, Armada does look impressive (Expect Red Alert) and almost comes alive.

As for the complaints over articulation... Meh, I'll live. Just like the Flipchangers in Beast Wars and the Straight-Legs of GI Joe Vs. Cobra, Hasbro corrects its mistakes after the first wave.

I'd buy them all if I had more money, but I want to save some for when/if the RiD trains are released here (Hasbro says they will be released, but hey, it's Hasbro...)

I think they look really cool. Some have several bigger or smaller flaws (Red's backpack, Hotshot's "cartoonlike" look) but the majority looks nifty (Megatron, Starscream, Prime, the minicon teams (except Perceptor)).

Scavenger looks pretty sweet!! I think he's gonna be mobile too.. looks that way.. his tracks and wheels look like the can move.. like an rc car kinda.. but who knows yet.. its just a small picture of him.. but his COLOR IS PERFECT light green, purple and grey. same as the original contructicons! but a lot more futuristic.. which is fine.. they are modeled to look like vehicles from 2010 after all.

I hope someone posts better pics of this guy soon!!

Almost my thoughts exactly!! While I think maybe one or two look cool (namely Starscream and Megs) I don't think that being TransFans, we should be forced to buy any of them because:

a) It's the only thing out there

B) They're vaguely reminiscent of G1 classics

c) We think that if we don't support the line, it will go under

THAT'S ALL CRAP!!! We should buy them if we like them!

Takara/Hasbro/Whoever should give us a TF line that we can feel proud to support, instead of one which we do so begrudingly.

I'm not a huge TF fan, but did buy a lot of the RID line and a few from BW and BM. The only real reason why I don't buy more is because I collect so many toy lines, and Transformers are always expensive. As for the new Armadda line...I don't know if I'll buy any. Like many of you have said, I may change my mind once I actually see them, but from the pics, they look like monkey poo. They look way to futuristic and busy. How can Hasbro go from an awesome line like RID to this crap?

Well Said TransformHeadOn!

They all have Transformer Fever! a very bad Disease that makes you spend all your money! even if the the toy line looks like Crap just to have something to buy that has Transformers on it! I agree with you I am looking forward to after ARMADA ! Which should not take to long after the New Line hits the stores. Bring on the Transformers for us!

I think Armada is going to push me towards putting my money in other things like the new MOTU and a lot of the new Gi Joe stuff.

I still hope the Armada cartoon does good. I hope it won't give the Transformers name a bad name.

Exactly!! Hasbro has the 1-2-3 Transformer line for little kids, so why can't they do the same for us??

G.I. Joe has the 12" Collectors Line, for example that's geared almost 99% towards adults.

Hasbro could have the 1-2-3 line for kids 2-5, an Armada-type line for kids 6-13, with a good cartoon show to go along with it, and then a 3rd Transformers line geared towards G1-schooled TransFans pouring their bucks into Takara's Reissues. Imagine such awesome updates as having a Ratchet with a show-accurate face?? Hasbro wouldn't even need to spend too much time on R&D! All they need to do is pick up a Pat Lee sketchbook, and make transforming toys out of them. Granted I would like to see the TF franchise grow and expand and not get stuck in the mud on G1 alone, but this would be a guaranteed seller for us, and it would be a good starting place.

Hasbro's problem is that they want to combine us "Adult Collectors" in with the younger kids and when you try to combine such disparate demographics, the quality of your products will suffer.

For example, how many movies in the "Family Comedy" genre turn out absolutely awful, because they're trying to please too many people to focus on doing one thing, and doing it well??

Has anyone seen Family Sitcoms lately?? Same thing. We don't want to buy/collect/play with the same toys that our 10-year-old nephews are buying. Otherwise we'd start buying Pokemon.
