G1 Optimus at Toys R Us -- buy or not??

Very cool as far as I am concerned, although I hope the scalpers stay the #$^% away from it!!!

I've waited a VERY long time for a G1 Optimus Prime. I cannot wait for it. Anyone know the date it's supposed to hit stores?

I don't think I'll buy Prime...I mean I have the reissue Prime that is already opened...Moreover, I also have the New Year Prime which is still in MISB. I guess two Prime is enough for me. Well, I'm still on the search for the MISB Black Prime...but his price is out of my budget right now....hopefully Takara reissued him again.

 

If any thing...I'll definitely buy Ultra Magnus just to keep him as MISB and also as U.S box. That will give two Magnus... :evil: :evil: :evil:

G1 Magnus Vs RID Magnus which one is better? That's depend:

1 - Articulations: Magnus RID is the winner.

2 - Appearance Proportion: I think G1 Magnus is the winner (debateable).

3 - Strenght and Power portray in the Cartoon, Magnus RID is the winner.

4 - Materials and durability: G1 Magnus is the winner...mainly thank to diecast cab.

5 - Visual effect in term of Vehicle/Robot mode: Magnus RID is the winner...his vehicle mode looks so hot!!! His Robot mode in an exception to his long leg...still looks hot.

6 - Transformation of difficulty: Magnus RID will definitely give you a hard time especially if you try to transform him for the first time....it's not like the G1 Magnus in which you can transform in less than a minute.

 

So, who is better? In my bias opinion...I will have to say the G1 Magnus. Why? I don't know...maybe it's an intuition...or maybe it's me being bias in favoring the Generation One over RID. :evil: :evil: :evil:

I'm not going to get Prime or Magnus because I have the original versions but I am definitely getting Hot Rod (Rodimus Major). By the way, why Rodimus Major? Shouldn't it be Rodimus Minor?

I'm picking myself up 2 of each because I just love them. One will be sealed and one will be opened for display.

I'll pick up a Hot Rod to open up as I haven't opened my Japanese version as well as a double of Magnus as I don't have the Takara version. I'm just excited that next month, Prowl and Jazz will be on their way to my house!!!

3-5 of each. Depends on how hard I can find them. If I find them on the 1st day they come out, I will get 3 of each. If the search takes a while, I will get about 4 of each. If even longer, I will get 5. I was waiting for a while for the Tie Bomber and Crashed Snowspeeder to hit the shelves way back in March. I got really pissed that Walmart won't put them out til April 23rd which they were supposed to be out in March. I HATE waiting. So I ended up getting 9 Bombers and 6 Snowspeeder to compensate for waiting and fulfilled the satisfaction for hunting for a while.

My origional G1 Optimus is in good shape, and Im not rich. If Im going to buy another Prime Ill spend that $40 on the Armada version. If they did a Soundwave however I would be all over that.
