  1. I can't wait to see what's next for MOTUC, G.I. Joe, and Transformers. Though they've already shown the power core and continuing movie line, I'm really hoping they'll disperse a few more animated figures throughout the year and continue the human alliance line as well. Hopefully the SDCC exclusives for MOTUC will be unveiled as well, I'm hoping for Mo-Larr and Keldor. Maybe Orko will be on display as well! As for your dream lines, I would totally shell out my hard-earned dollars for a BTTF action figure line! Indy got one, now Doc Brown and Marty need one. I dunno so much about a Hasbro LOTR line, only because the prototypes would be great but given what I've seen with paint apps on Marvel Universe figures in stores, it would be another frustrating collecting experience. I hate finding a rarer MU figure and being disappointed to see that the face paint looks like the character has just seen the Ark of the Covenant... anyway, TNI is where I come every year for the best pics and most comprehensive coverage of Toy Fair, can't wait to see what is revealed this year!
  2. 1. What item(s) have you bought or tried to buy from Mattel/MattyCollector.com- MOTUC figures-Mer-Man, Zodac, tried to get others. 2. Are you in the United States or a International customer? U.S. customer. 3. What overall grade do you give Mattel/Mattycollector.com in regards to your experience with them; A, B, C, D or F. I'd say a C+ to B- a. Product availability – Were you able to get the figure(s) you wanted? No. The sellout times are ludicrous, and the refresh screen had me waiting while the figure sold out before my eyes. I did luck out with Zodac and Mer-Man though. b. Customer Service – Did you get your figure(s) in a timely manner without any mishaps? If there were any problems, how helpful were the people at Mattel/Mattycollector.com in resolving those issues? They arrived in a pretty timely fashion, but the cards were bent up (luckily I play and display)and as for the figures themselves...see below. c. Customer Satisfaction - Were you happy with your purchase (meaning once you got the figure(s), were you happy with it)? Granted, these are awesome figures and I fell very lucky to have them. I'm supposed to have a set of the first four coming in that I had to pay inflated overhead prices for since Matty sold out so quick. That being said, and all praise for the 4H's awesome job on this line aside, I must say that Mattel needs better quality control. I have received not one, not two, but three badly painted figures so far. The cat head of my mer-man, the belt and helmet of zodac, and the belt of a faker i traded for ALL have very bad paint bleeds and/or chips. A buddy of mine got two Hordaks (should have asked him to get me one while he was at it) and he said both had paint splotches on the armor. For "adult collector" $20+shipping figures, these should not have such issues. Other than that, the figures are incredible, and I already have a subscription for the sept-dec figs so I don't get jipped again, hopefully they will take heed and pay a little more attention to the paint quality in the future. I've heard stories of worse, though (two left feet, broken joints, etc.), so I am still very grateful to own the ones I have. Hopefully I'll get a Hordak soon, he looks to be the best figure yet! Even with these issues, I'll still say faithful to the line and do my best to get the figures, and beyond that I can't wait for the ghostbusters line (when/if they ever decide to release them). Either way, great line, could do better on production numbers and quality (considering the price). Mahalo, -JSD
  3. G.I. Joe to me is not only my favorite action figure line and one of my best memories of childhood, it is an elaborate mythology that taught me valuable life lessons as a young boy and what it means to be kick-ass with ethics. COBRA had all the coolest villains you love to hate like Destro, Zartan, Dr. Mindbender, Major Bludd, and the like, and the story of Cobra Commander's rise from a used car salesman to the head of a privately funded blackwater-style private army always enthralled my imagination. Of course there's the classics ninja rivalry between snake eyes (the world's best badass) and storm shadow, and the Vietnam backstory that makes every little plastic man and woman a living character instead of a generic plaything. Then there's the Joe team themself. When I was younger I always figured that G.I. J.O.E. stood for General Infantry (or Government Issued, Government Initiated) Judicial Operations Experts. The team is the most diverse group of heroes ever imagined, with members from all over the world from all walks of life working together to literally save the world. In Kindergarten all the boys, no matter who they were or where they came from, played together with our Joes. This in itsself created a sense of brotherhood and friendship. G.I. Joe is also the greatest action figure line ever conceived because of the size of the figures. It allows for the coolest vehicles and playsets fathomable to be integrated into your adventures, adding to overall playability. The comics and show itself taught little one-off lessons that irregardless have stuck with me throughout life. To this day I still do not swim when it is storming. Thank you, Deep Six. For these reasons and more, G.I. Joe is fun, greatness, and just good times. Why? Because Knowing Is Half The Battle. Mahalo. -JSD
  4. Awesome, can't wait to get him. I only have sasquatch so far...he's huge. Nice transformers collection BTW
  5. Good point. I hope these turn out to be awesome, and maybe we'll at least see a movie accurate beast, colossus, juggernaut, and rogue or kitty pryde..although mystique could use the ML superarticulated treatment....ToyBiz should know by now that we fanboys love us some half-naked superarticulated hotties....even if they are blue and scaly...
  6. Hey after seeing this thread: x3? xmen classics? packaging I'm starting to wonder...either ToyBiz is gonna restart a classics type line with repaints and new...variants....and hopefully a couple of cool looking new figs, and are at LEAST gonna release movie versions of Beast, Juggernaut, Colossus, and maybe an x-girl or two; or this is their movie line. I'm totally okay with the first one,cos honestly, I like Marvel LEgends and I liked the movie figures, but they could be much better in terms of artiuclation, sculpt and paint apps. Either way, this is still jsut conceptual, but yeah, I'll probably end up picking up a few of these anyway. I just really want a Beast movie fig, that's all.
  7. Crap on a stick. Oh well , I hadn't seen them so they're here on the main page for those who haven't seen them.
  8. Hey, I know how you feel, ever since the teaser trailer I've been jonesing for some action figure news, and while it isn't perfect, it's better than nothing....
  9. Stop me if these pics have been shown yet, I am new to the forums and i couldn't find them through about 10 pages of posts, but the x3 pics i found were already up apparently, anyway... I think this looks like a great year for toybiz...i'm looking forward more to the ghost rider figures than the x3 figs now, unfortunately, since they won't be movie style, but nothings gonna stop me from getting more beasts and x-ladies if they are superarticulated and well sculpted enough (granted I can find some that ToyBiz hasn't slopped paint all over) but a great year for villains. Lemme see...Dragon Man, Spot, Hydro Man, HobGoblin-please let them do it right this time-good idea repainting oldschool HG for demogoblin, beetle looks like crap...glad i got the first one, but they still haven't done one that looks right...maybe in a boxset...hydroman-to play with sandman in the mud-- @hmmm@ AWEOME new invisible Woman, reed, and the figure I've been waiting for since the first ML human torch....A Johnny storm with clip-on flame attachments! Gotta love Kang, finally a chameleon figure, but a recycled prof.x body....who didn't see that comin'? better than nuthin... still waiting for GG from ML 13, though... hopefully they'll make some improvements before they release these as these are basically mock-ups, i apologize if these have already been posted, if not-Feast your Eyes ff pic series 2 & spidey wave 17 + spidey villains---CHAMELEON
  10. Really? Even the series 2 with angel and the other crap? Dang, just when you think you've found something...
  11. EFFING A Second Post, found these pics on the site that first one came from. I NEVER thought I'd be one to find pics like these, but my fellow x-fans, for your consideration, I submit to you the first couple pics and art of the new x3 figures... X3 Figures And I must say this is complete and Utter Bullcrud if this is really what they're going for. IF ANYONE FROM TOYBIZ CAN READ THIS STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW! THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FIGURES FROMTHE MOVIE? HOW COME THERE IS NOT ONE MOVIE BASED DESIGN IN THERE? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PUT OUT ALL THE STUPID VARIANTS YOU WANT, THEYRE GONNA SIT THERE. IF YOU PUT OUT SECONDARY CHARACTERS THAT PEOPLE WANT THEY WILL SELL THEMSELVES. HERE'S AN IDEA...RELEASE A CASE WITH EVENLY PACKED FEMALE CHARACTERS (SUPERARTICULATED AND METICULOUSLY SCULPTED-MIND THE PAINT-YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) AS WELL AS SECONDARY X CHARACTERS (SECONDARY TO YOU GUYS MEANING ANYONE OTHER THAN CYCLOPS OR WOLVERINE) AND PUT ALL THESE LAME VARIANTS ONE TO A CASE, OR EVEN ONE TO EVERY TWO CASES, YOU WONT BE ABLE TO SELL ENOUGH...ONCE THEY ARE THOUGHT OF AS "COLLECTORS ITEMS" YOU CAN UNLOAD THE REST OF THEM AND THEY WILL BE CLEARED OUT WHILE THE OTHERS ARE STILL FLYING OFF THE SHELVES AS WELL....BUT NOT THIS CRAP! Don't get me wrong, I think Sir Ian McKellen is great, but I didn't think it was possible to make him look any gayer...these are inappropriate, the costumes and looks don't even HAVE and source material, this is blatant corporate whoring and none of it looks worth buying...unless this is some other crap and you do release REAL movie figures, done in a quality way, then these would make perfect compliments, but without the key characters in key costumes, they are nothing. Who's with me?
  12. First post- snoogans Man I wonder when these will start showing up, I'm really hoping the new xgirls are superarticulated and movie accurate, I've got the SA wolverine, cyclops, logan magneto(could release one with double joints) I know the first one I pick up will be Beast. I hope they're laser-scanning the heads still. I want one in the x-uniform and one in a suit...for those formal times when you're meeting with the president....seems things have changed since x-2, you'd think they'd be more wary of blue mutants in the whitehouse by now.........anywho, juggernaut will be cool, if Toy Biz really just put marvel legend quality articulation with movie accurate sculpts they'd all sell quick, just please no 55 wolverines that will be sitting on shelves in a year while I'm still trying to find iceman...sigh....either way, the fantastic four series was really good, despite suffering from the inevitable pegcluttering of things and torches (not the good versions, either) I see where they're going with these variants, though, seeing as how they have just announced a series of FF figs with Video game based designs and such...it actually would have been kinda cool to see them in the movie with those stealth uniforms, if anyhting they'll fill the hole left from the abscense of ultimate ML versions of the xmen, though the heads on the variants don't look like jackman or marsden, either way, they're super-articulated, and they're great new troops for those out there building an army of wolverines to invade Canada...Can't wait for first official pics, and I have my fingers crossed that they'll amazingly just pop up all of a sudden right before or after christmas, just like the spiderman toys did. that nightcrawler in a suit is a definite. All I want are superarticulated versions of the team in their suits, and the brotherhood. maybe a stryker/lady deathstrike 2 pack would be nice....this is ToyBiz's chance to make up for those times when they had an opportunity to make awesome figures collectors and kids alike will gobble up and squeeze out some lesser known characters while the property is hot....if this is INDEED-The Last Stand-(hope not, still gotta have Gambit and the Sentinels on the Big Screen) or maybe this'll be their new "trilogy collection" since they're about to stop doing LOTR Then again, we might get to see those scarce characters...a superposeable toad and even a gambit (whos not in the movie) in matching x-suit? now they can come in and help spider-man battle Alfred Molina and Jesu-I mean, Willem Dafoe. Anyway thanks for the pics, send some more if you got em, this has renewed my thirst. Peace, Love, and Rock 'n Roll -JD P.S. That Cyclops figure is Shite.
