  1. Since they're really only showing up at TRU's, does any one have an R Web number or UPC for them?
  2. If there ever was a movie to consider "so bad it's good" then it's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The budget was far too low. It was produced by Golan-Globus who also made the horrible 4th Superman film, "The Quest for Peace". They worked on a shoe string budget, and the final climatic battle between He-Man and Skeletor was shot after principle filming was complete. If the final, epic battle between good and evil is a re-shoot you're in trouble. The problem was, in 1987 it was a kids toy cash grab. No one thought, "hey in like 15 years the kids who are buying these crappy toys are going to be nostalgic for their youth and looking to spend loads of money on this stuff". There was little to no precedent for this situation. The only really good live action, comics/toys/TV shows to movies we had back then were Superman I and II. X-Men wouldn't be out for a decade and Batman was 2-3 years away. If He-Man had a budget for better actors, a better script and better effects we could have had a truly awesome He-Man movie. Orko, Battle Cat, Prince Adam and the rest could have made the final cut. We can only hope that Mattel and whatever studio has the rights to this takes the property seriously and gives us an epic, Lord of the Rings scale, sci-fi fantasy epic. Cross the good Star Wars with it's humor, (not slapstick or outright winking at the camera) and the epic scale and seriousness of LotR and we could have an amazing He-Man.
  3. Not sure if this has been mentioned lately, but is there any hope of the Ultimate wave ever making it retail? I know it's on-line but I like being able to see the figures and check the quality. I know Target and Wal-Mart dropped the line, and TRU is the only place that I still see Joes. Is there any hope at all or should I just break down and go on-line?
  4. It'll end when Mattel says so, so there isn't much point to talking about it. Hopefully it will last until we get all the figures we want, but we only have but so much control over the decision Mattel's board makes. In the end it's a business decision. If the money just isn't there to support the production then it's over. I think we forget sometimes that this was the first time any major toy company went with the on-line only solution to getting us what we want. He-Man would not survive on toy shelves today without a cartoon. Mattel didn't want to shell out the money so we got an on-line only toy. It came out and we wanted more. We demanded more. We wanted beasts, then vehicles and we've always asked for playsets. They gave us weapons racks, figure stands, and all the figures we've wanted. Economy takes a nose dive and we're still buying. Economy is down, we're still buying. Now someone did the math and figured out how much it would cost and suddenly everyone is up in arms. It's buyers remorse. Plain and simple, if you don't have the money don't buy.
  5. I thought it was a good episode. I enjoyed the flashback. Certainly interesting that Mumm-ra once owned the eye and that it was stolen from another planet. Certainly makes you question how honorable the cats are.
  6. I would love to see GB3. But I'm not getting my hopes up until the movie is actually filming. We've had too many reports it's go only to have it come out the script isn't ready or some other BS. If they want to do it, then they'll do it. I love the video game and it's as close as we'll ever get to a proper sequel as it seems the idea is to give the proton packs to another group of busters. If GB3 actually happens I will gladly camp out for tickets but I'm not hopeful.
  7. Found these at my WM in CT this morning too....passed since pay day is next Friday but they also had the entirety of 30th anniversary wave 1 so I scored a Steel Brigade, Iron Grenadier and Hazard Viper. Stalker has a blank stare on his face so I passed on him too. I love WM is carrying Joe again. These are some of the best figures I've bought in years!
  8. What month is this slated for? I heard October but is that still right?
  9. I'm looking to make a custom joe card back as a gift for a family friend's son and I'm having trouble finding just the "starburst" or explosion art found on the original and 25th anniversary figures. Anyone know where I can find it? I've tried searching through Google but I'm not having much luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. What was the Tim Burton batmobile doing in that glass case? Are we going to get a 1/6" scale version like we did the tumbler? The rest of the figures, like all of Hot Toys product is amazing. I love the metallic finish on Cap's shield and the ship's wheel with Jack Sparrow. Makes me wish I pre-ordered him.
  11. So, does anyone make repro parts anymore? Transrepro doesn't seem to really be working anymore even though they have everything I need and for very reasonable prices. Does anyone know of another site that makes things like G1 Prime fists, or G1 Starscream missiles?
  12. Not going to get too excited just yet. We were promised this over the winter and it's almost summer. Don't get me wrong, I need to have this but I'll wait until I see the figure before I get excited.
  13. I know the subject of Wal Mart not carrying Joe was addressed, but did anyone bring up why it's so hard to find some of the newer releases? I have never seen a VAMP, or Low Light or Shadow Tracker, et al. I know I'm not the only one with this problem, but it doesn't seem that Hasbro is at all interested in getting this product into our hands.
