  1. Apparently this movie was released in 2010 and it's no wonder I haven't heard of it till Xbox live started pushing on the dashboard. Before you decide you want to go ahead and see it, heed my warning! Don't pick up this movie. This horrible pile of wannabe cult superhero movie was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. While not stealing the title of worst movie, which goes to "Poultrygeist: Night of the chicken dead" or some such title I care not to even check, and some random Zombie Japanese movie what with a black Mt. Fuji, neither of which I recommended beyond knowing the title to avoid, Super (2010) was as uninteresting as its star Rainn Wilson, who you might also know from the American television series "The Office". Type cast as a horribly uninteresting and failsome loser, Rainn Wilson, plays Frank D'Arbo, a man who's wife leaves him for a drug dealer. Life spiraling out of control, Frank follows the storyline of current superhero movies and dons a cape and mask. "Super" destroys the superhero motif movies it so wishes to emulate and loses the Indy film glamor with named stars, and just fails to deliver enjoyable, identifiable characters. Throughout the entire movie I felt myself consistently shaking my head at what should have been nods to fans of comic book and even anime series that were more insults than nods. The movie it seems tried too hard. The acting was stiff and at times overly dramatic, a charge I would ordinarily write off to unseasoned Indy actors, not something I'd expect from the experience of the cast. The one thing that kept my interest throughout the grueling development was the Ellen Page's character, Libby aka Boltie, who provides most of the movies eye candy and frankly I've never seen that good looking a girl work in any comic book store I've ever visited. I'll go ahead and ruin this already bad movie for you, not that any amount of review I can give will destroy the movie as much as the movie itself, she is killed towards the end of the movie. And unlike the random death akin to "Reservoir Dogs", which did a great job of killing a character randomly and creating social commentary at it, Super on the flip simply gives me another reason to dislike the movie and digress. It wasn't a social commentary, it wasn't even a good time to kill a character. It was simply random and horrible writing and lack of creativity, a complete waste of a character. Aside from the stiff acting, trashy dialogue, insults to comic book superhero fans everywhere, a failed attempt to create social commentary by destroying tropes, wasted characters, weird costumed rape scene, terrible writing and a storyline directly photocopied from "Kick-Ass" I suppose this movie could appeal to the very same individuals that are stupid enough to shell out the money for it. As for myself, my only saving grace is a buddy of mine picked up the movie before me. Don't pick up this movie. I apologize for my terrible run-on sentences. it seems I've completely forgotten how the English language works after watching this movie. Are you happy James Gunn? You've forced me to return to school to learn English again! What you should go see is Planet of the Apes. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a great movie. while straying from the original storyline and established canon, it seeks to reset the franchise and modernize the storyline while maintaining many ties to the other movies. This movie provides what fans of the series have long wanted; the origin of the Apes. As it's not as fresh in my mind as the night after I'll not go into some of the finer points of story. I did enjoy the small changes they did make, the virus that spreads across humanity. The original chimp and his generals. The beginning of factions within the Apes. All great nods and detail paid to the original series. A far better movie than the 2001. I did particularly like the gritty realistic element.
  2. oh sure i'll see it I'm also excited about Resident Evil; Afterlife
  3. Ok so the Avatar the Last Airbender movie is a heaping smoking load of horrible rubbish. The flow is all wrong the pacing is waaay past confusing and the changes made by Shyamalan speak more of egoism and pride than creative transformation. This is a disgrace to the series and a poor example of what Nickelodeon can produce. The cast and crew preform stiffly and mispronounce simple words and names. Fans of this movie will be disappointed and people who have not seen the series will be confused after watching the first fifteen minutes. It's almost as if Shyamalan tried to jam as much of the first 15 episodes of story into the first 60 minutes and then mutate the last 5 episodes into an ending. With two more movies planned I wonder how much will change and be lost. I had hoped with Shyamalan's decline in film making he could turn it around here, but it seems he has yet again failed. 2 out of 5 stars.
  4. yea it was late at night and i found it later lol thanks
  5. Ok I'll start Rule One; Guns, Lots of Guns.
  6. First off Great movie! for fans of the satirical zombie movies like Shaun of the Dead, and Fido, this movie is a must see. Jesse Eisenburg plays Columbus, a paranoid uptight nerdy rulemaker, together he and Tallahassee, Woody Harrelson a wild gun slinging, baseball bat swinging, lawn shear um I assume stabing cowboy with a past, travel across a post zompocalypse America. Some of the survival rules; Cardio, Double Tap, Beware of Bathrooms, Seatbelts, and Check The Backseat. Great fun to watch, excellent humor. For people who have seen the movie, or if you have casually perused the zombie survival guide, I open the topic to other such rules...
  7. Too bad they removed a bunch of parts out because of the original anime series; they deleted some side stories and secondary characters as a way to get to the once manga only arc quicker. Basically, stuff like character developing were dropped. Because of those reasons, I did not like the first half of the new series Once they gotten to the Ling arc, things slow down, allowing for more character development episodes. precisely
  8. this is a wonderful adaptation of the series and follows the manga more completely. fans of the manga will notice that some scenes and situations are reordered, however i think it is for the better. Characters that were completely left out of the original series play a big part in this one. they did a great job on the overhaul and i will be picking this up when it comes out here.

  11. tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was done very well overall. It was kept very realistic, the designs are clean, and the story keeps getting better.
