What is Quality Control on DC Collectibles Icons line?

EDIT: Mistake in title...what is *the* quality control.

 

I'm considering starting to pick up the DC Icons line since they're covering a lot of my favorites in this first year.

 

I haven't bought a DC Collectibles figure since they were DC Direct, how is the quality control at the company these days, particularly on Icons and the Capullo Designer items?

 

My older DC Direct figs suffered from bad QC. I've heard of breakage on the BTAS line, and a few on the Last Rites Icons Batman, but was curious what other toy line you could compare the build quality to (such as NECA/ Hasbro/ Mattel/ etc) and if breakages are common? I'm really interested in this line but don't want to start collecting if they are super fragile (I tinker with my figures constantly).

At first I wasn't a big fan because they seemed a bit small and I thought they wouldn't blend well with my other figures. I bought the deluxe Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) to see what they were like and I loved it.

The sculpting and articulation were great and the accessories were superb. Figures of Batman and Green Arrow soon followed and they may actually be even better figures although with less accessories.

 

The figures I have are well constructed and feel sturdy and solid. I haven't observed any problems with breakage or loose or stuck joints.

They are probably the best made DC figures I have and I have quite a few of the DCUC figures.

 

Obviously I can only speak for myself but I think they are great figures.

I think people have all but identified the culprit of DC Direct and earlier DC Collectibles as being the clear plastic that they used to construct the joint articulation. Very brittle and easily broken. I've experienced it with a number of older DC Direct figures.

 

However, as far as I know DC Collectibles has stopped using those clear plastic joints and are currently going with a sturdier plastic. I know this is true for the Batman Animated line from DCC. The first wave had reports flooding in of the joints breaking right out of the package. They delayed future waves to fix the problem and switch over to a sturdier plastic. Since then I don't think I've heard any reports of breaking.

 

That's with the Animated line, mind you.

 

I have a few of the new animated figures, the latest Arrow TV show figure, and the ICONS Batman and they all feel pretty solid.
