'Toy Hunter' is a friggin' joke!

Watched his show once and he tracked down an old 80s Super powers toy of Darkseid's purple space ship.

He didn't pronounce Darkseid's name like Dark-SIDE, but rather Dark-SEED. It was embarrassing to watch a man who claims to know so much about toys do this...

isn't the toyhunter some sort of a scalper? i think i read something about that somewhere. never watched his show but that would explain why toyguru pushes the secondary market a bit of lately, lol.

I like the show. I never remember to watch it or know when it's on, but I've enjoyed the episodes I've seen.

He doesn't seem like too much of a scalper on the show. He's obviously out to make money, but he seems pretty decent with his offers and deals he makes.

He has from time to time given people more money for the item he has bought.

I've never heard of this guy but I'm going to be prejudice and judge the book by it's cover here. Anyone who takes a picture with his arm around Toyguru is not to be trusted.

Nah, any idiot can just go online and find out what the 411 is on a brown haired He-Man... This was just another excuse for Neitlich to get back into the lime light...AGAIN. He clearly knows a lot of people in the toy industry and he uses it to feed his insatiable hunger for attention.

I'm not a "fan" of Neitlich, but I think you guys might be reading too much into this. It's a cool idea for the show, which is probably the point of all this.

That's actually a fairly common mispronunciation, and I've heard lifelong comic fans use it, so yeah, I'm willing to give it a pass. Especially since for someone that's implying that they know more about toys than the host of the show, you don't seem to recall the name of the Darkseid Destroyer. You know, the actual toy in question.

Nah, any idiot can just go online and find out what the 411 is on a brown haired He-Man... This was just another excuse for Neitlich to get back into the lime light...AGAIN. He clearly knows a lot of people in the toy industry and he uses it to feed his insatiable hunger for attention.

Eric's dead on here. Yeah, you could go online and find just about anything you'd need to know with enough digging, but that doesn't exactly make for riveting or even mildly entertaining television. Also, I think it's pretty silly to expect that a show about toys isn't occasionally going to have people that are actually in the toy industry on the show, or that some cross-promotion is never going to occur. This show isn't really for us (the hardcore toy nerds). It's broken down to be easily digestible and mildly entertaining for folks that really don't know squat about toys.

How did you watch it, did you find it online? I'd like to take a gander at these fools pretending they know stuff about toys. Post a link please. :)

The sour grapes, as always, are strong here. But I suppose you have an encyclopedic knowledge of every single toy that's ever been created in latter half of the 20th century onward, including things that you have no real interest in or didn't play with as a child? Because that is, after all, what you imply when you rag on "these fools pretending they know stuff about toys"...that your overall knowledge of toys is superior to theirs.

Nice try, but I never claimed to know more than anyone. I just want to see the video so I can have a good laugh at Neitlich because he's just such a dork... plus I want to see what this, "Toy Hunter" is all about... I'm sure he's right up there on the dork level as "toyguru" ... So am I a sour grape? Maybe, Does that bother you Jmacq1? GOOD! LOL!

^ This.
I swear, I'm going to come into a thread some day and find out how Neitlich was the cause for the demise of Hostess/Dodo birds/Aztec culture.

Finally saw the episode... All I can say is... BWWWAAAAHHHH HA HA HA HA! I guess Toyguru doesn't want us to see where he really lives. I know these shows are usually rehearsed and staged but this was REALLY phony.

These types of shows literally serve no purpose. They are fake as F, are neither about toy collecting or directed towards toy collectors. As previously mentioned, they are low budget shitfests directed at couch potato channel flicking morons. The only people who would appear on these shows are -

A. desperate for money (though these types of programs don't actually pay guests)

B. attention whores

C. morons

Scott Neitlich can tick all three of these, the pitiable little worm.

All this show does is create a false reality about value/ cost, rarity etc of any item featured. If they can lie about any single facet of anything on the show to get one more person to watch, they won't hesitate. Complete garbage. No wonder Neitlich gravitated towards it. the show epitomises his attitude towards toys and collecting. Next time they should feature Fisto, Teela, or Spirit of Hordak. I'd love to hear Neilich tell me how much fun everyone has trying to get those figures again.

What a waste of time.
