Was wondering how people felt about the new Injustice Video Game. While I didn't buy the game, I did gave it a try at 2 EB Games I went to on launch day since they were demoing the game(At 1, I played Superman, and at the other as Batman). In my personal opinion, while it is a nice game and looks really cool, something seem's off about it, as I can't quite put my finger about it. It's hard discribe, but 1 thing is that it doesn't seem as fast as other Fighting games I've played before, such as Mortal Kombat V.S. DC Universe(Which seems much faster than this), various Street Fighter and Capcom/Street Fighter V.S. games(Okay, maybe that's a bit unfair, since those are usually hyper fast), Fighting Fury, the Smash Bros type games, etc.

I have no idea why. Maybe because I had it at "Very Easy", but even then, other games that I set it at "Easy" or "Very Easy", they still seem faster than this game. Maybe it's the designs. Maybe it's "The Feel". Maybe because Warner Bros. usually comes out with a "Game Of The Year Edition", and I suspect that this will happen later in the year. Maybe I didn't try "Story Mode", because sometimes the Story that's part of the game plays a role in me enjoying it(Such as Mortal Kombat's fiction), but that said, if a Fighting Game in just regular "Quick Fight" or regular "Fighting Mode" doesn't impress me, then the "Story" in a fighting game means squat to me.

What I do know that it can't be because pretty much all Fighting Video Games are very similar, because even when I play/try out a new title or game, I still have a very fun and enjoyable time playing them usually. I'll probably consider getting the game eventually, but it will probably be a year or 2 from now, especially if a "Game Of The Year Edition" happens.

That said, 1 of my fellow former co-workers(Who is a huge DC fan) got his game from EB Games(He pre-ordered it so he got the Red Sun skins), and he loves it. He loves the visual "Easter Eggs" in the game, the cameos when you fight at certain stages, the storyline, the interactivitiy of the fight areas(Such as sometimes if you or your opponent gets knocked to a character in the background, the background character will do some damage to you/your opponent, and then toss you/your opponent back to the fighting area), and what not.

Either way, was wondering how many of you guys feel about it, since I don't see any topics about the game it's self.

Personally, I love the game. I do have some dislikes. The story mode was too short, only being 12 chapters. But, it was still a good story. And someone on Youtube linked the cutscenes together to make a 2 hour movie. I don't like how every character only has one battle intro or ending. Deathstroke will always be sitting at the computer, and Batman will always say "Stay down" then be sitting on the gargoyle. And one last thing. I don't like how they did the Star Labs. They really hyped each character's missions being their own personal story, so I wish they would have made the first Star Lab mission of each character open instead of Superman's first seven and the rest requiring a certain number of stars to unlock. But that one's just me.

Aside from that, I like the battles. They have a nice flow, and after a lot of practice you can knock out some great combos. Very Easy is definitely Very Easy. They simply don't move. Basically like training mode. Better battle on Normal, and if you're doing Battle mode, Easy can prove a challenge in the later rounds. I've found it quite enjoyable, though. Huge DC fan, too. I like the battles, love the mass amount of different battles you can do, the story was good, and I like Star Labs being personal stories for each. Not to mention a lot of costumes, a nice roster choice, Star Labs for the Red Son preorder that will hopefully become DLC, and four DLC characters on the way, lead by Lobo. Maybe it's my love for DC that makes me more biased to it, but I think they did well with it. And, I've always been a Street Fighter fan, and I loved Mortal Kombat 2009, but wasn't entirely wild about Mortal Kombat vs DC, though I did enjoy playing through the story.

I love it, story mode is like watching a DC cartoon movie.

So far so good. Although I haven't played it much. I've been playing DCUO most of the time but from what I have played its cool.

Btw there is a video game thread in the general forum section of TNI. That wouldve been a better place to have asked this question. Anway, Im a very avid fighting game enthusiast and a big comic book nerd. I like and follow DC but a die hard marvel fan to the end. So knowing that little info I have definitely been enjoying Injustice. Honestly though I didnt like the game at first. It has a bit of a learning curve and I wanted to just get right into it. Its not an easy fighter to get into right away like games like tekken or soul calibur. You cant get very far if you push alot of buttons and try to do moves. You also have to learn what each characters character powers do, some arent so obvious like the joker has a counter power that can level up 3 times and make him move faster.

The story mode as enjoyable as it was, was way shorter than MK9s was. I thought they said this story mode was going to be 3 times longer!? I guess they ran out of time. Plus you barely played as any of the cast and 3 separate times you played as batman. The game may feel slow because thats kind of how netherrealms is with their games. They have clunky animations and their games always felt slower. Its still pretty damn fast and I dont think I would want their games to be any faster because the feel wouldnt quite fit. I liked MK vs DC for what it was but it became way too gimmicky after a while and the finishers were just laughable and almost insulting. They did it right by separating the 2 franchises as MK9 is amazing and I can see Injustice being up there, not quite but oh so close. I think the cutscene endings will and are getting old very fast despite some fanfare from their original intent. I enjoy the STAR labs but I agree with dravenheart that they shouldve just had them all unlocked or had some kind of purpose. Going through each character to get to your favorite is kind of stupid. At least in MK9 the challenge tower served a purpose of progression. I still like the transitions and the stage interactions as they do hella damage but I can see even those getting a tad repetitive after seeing the same sequence 100+ times. Luckily you can durn them off if you wish.

They made this game for casuals and hardcore alike but the main combat system requires alot of practice to enjoy it further than just the story mode and a few star labs missions. Just like any fighter, they require some time invested into them in order to fully enjoy them and you kind of have to like the characters to want to do that. If you like DC characters then you shouldnt have any debate on if youd play it for a while. If you want a faster fighting game with comic characters, you can always play ultimate marvel vs capcom 3. I highly recommend it, its one of the best and easy to get into comic fighters out there.

Oh yeah one more thing that I must give massive credit to netherrealms for doing... they gave you multiple costumes to unlock in the game. Also if you own an idevice you can download their free companion app that lets you unlock other costumes like batman beyond and knightfall bane. Other companies would just charge you for them and not many games have real UNLOCKS anymore.

Definitely agree. I do like the different character powers. Simple for most, too. Hit one button to activate them. Batman gets bats that either absorb one hit of damage or can be sent at enemies. I love that, but some abilities do take some learning. Took a couple times to actually realize that Flash's ability slows your enemy down. Still haven't tried everyone yet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the story was supposed to be longer. My greatest disappointment was never getting to play as Nightwing. One of my top favorites. Though, I did like his story twist. May just be me, but I thought it was awesome. Was irritated that in 12 chapters, we got Batman in two of them, so we only covered 11 characters out of the 24 character roster. The Batman vs Batman fight was cool, though. A between chapter battle was nice.

And I totally love the costumes! The IPhone app I hear is fairly difficult, but it's free, and the unlocks are free. That's cool. You can use armory keys gained from leveling up on the console to unlock one alt, and you can get others through doing certain things. Didn't even notice I unlocked Nightwing's New 52 costume until I fought him in a battle. lol

I'll admit, I didn't like it from the demo, which had me so disappointed. But, after buying it and playing Nightwing, and especially Deathstroke, I'm seriously wishing I had preordered it. Would have loved to get the Red Son pack. Hopefully it still comes around as DLC. And I'm anxious to see who the other three DLC characters are supposed to be. Anxious to try out Lobo.

It's good to start with someone like Batman, since he's easier to learn, then upgrade to others once you start getting the hang of it. Though, I found Harley to be my best starter. Her combos weren't too difficult for me and she's a fast mover. Still haven't played everyone yet. Haven't tried big guys like Grundy or Doomsday. Still stuck learning Aquaman and Nightwing, almost have the hang of Green Lantern. I love the character mix of popular and obscure too. But, they had me at Nightwing. lol

Honestly the iphone app is welcomed but they set you up to fail or pay to play essentially. There is alot goign against it yet i find myself still playing it for those damn costumes. There is about 6 costumes you can unlock via the app for the console version and i have batman beyond and prison superman left to unlock. The game feels cool for the first few matches then it starts getting beyond impossible and you start to see its either going to be a grind fest or pay to win and even then you arent. There are 3 degrees of character strength types, bronze, silver and gold. They cant go passed their type levels and each version up is stronger and gets more xp. I finally unlocked a gold through the console version(which you can unlock stuff between ios and console versions which is cool). Basically I was stuck for a while with my 3 bronze characters and now I finally have 3 gold characters, got farther and am now at a block where i again have to grind in order to get anywhere. Its also important to note that each character has a recharge meter that has 10 increments. the first set of battles requires 1 part each.. then it goes to 2 and it takes 3 at where im at.. after your bar is depleted you either have to stop playing for about an hour or 2 or buy a pack of recharge cards... or you can use the recharge cards you unlock after a bunch of battles. The game bars in the middle of being annoying with how it handles IAP, difficulty and progression to being decent and somewhat fun to play. Its like a game you love to hate and yet hate to love it. (important to note that i havent put a single penny into the game... just ALOT of grinding)

Anywayyyyss i went on a bit of a tangent, worth it for free and if you have an ios device.

As with the in game costumes they are quite generous with what you get. Some characters have a third unlockable costume, a few for leveling up like the new 52 nightwing, some are for completing story like godfall superman, some for doing the star labs missions like kryptonite armor lex and new 52 shazam and then there are some for doing online like GLs alt from the story.

Im sure the preorder dlc will all become paid dlc sometime in the future. They have handled Injustice just like they did with MK9 which all the preorder stuff came in one pack for about 5 bucks. Even with the DLC characters they said they are going to have compatibility packs that have free dlc costumes attached for an incentive to download them even if you arent getting the dlc characters(which they also did with MK9). They also said they made 100 costumes for the game so hopefully we see some more soon. Speaking of Lobo they released a vid of his gameplay today along with a new batman costume from flashpoint. Was hoping for a batgirl alt costume instead but whatevs. Heres the link for you peeps:

IPhone app sounds a lot like a Facebook app. Certain amount of energy at a time, restores over time, you can get better extremely fast by putting out a lot of money. And for a lot of Facebook games, you need to put out money early to get yourself started. Don't have an IPhone myself, but my phone is due for an upgrade, and I've been seriously thinking about getting one. Especially since this game is there. Noticed you get some credits by leveling up and doing stuff on the console. Like that. Mainly just want Knightfall Bane, Arkham Harley, and Batman Beyond. Don't care about the rest. Lockdown Superman, lol.

That's about all the in game unlockables I've heard about too. Love Godfall Superman. Always thought that was such a cool costume. It's by far my preferred for him. Not personally fond of online play, since I'm not exceptional at fighting games, so I don't see me getting Sinestro Corps Hal Jordan.

Now, I love the video. Lobo looks awesome, and who hasn't been anxious to play him in some way in a game? That's one of my favorite Batman costumes too. Was so disappointed it was left out of the Flashpoint DLC, so I'm glad it'll be joining soon. Seeing there's a lot more planned costumes gets me even more excited for the game, and I already love it as it is. I do wish they were planning more characters for DLC, or even a story expansion, but hopefully it does good enough to garner a sequel in the future.

Not just Facebook games, alot of games on the app store are starting to use that formula and they are ones i typically stay away from. I research before I buy.

Honestly, I LOVE my iphone, and im not a big mac fan... but i do love those iDevices. Also the app is worth it for the free skins.. you also get new 52 green lantern. And yes you also get credits for doing stuff in the console game. Lockdown superman is pretty dumb but I dont care, I ll take all the free costumes i can get. Just means more appearence options.

Online play is typically good if you have mutual friends that play and to play with or if you are a hardcore fighting game person with alot of time on your hands to master ONE game. Im a hardcore fighting game person but I dont have that kind of time or patience to try to get amazing at one particular fighting game. I play ALOT of them and am pretty decent at them, not amazing by any means but decent. I am always intimidated by ranked matches because that usually means people that think they are amazing, that have too much time on their hands are playing that mode only and its annoying. I like when I can play the same skilled or close the the same skill as me when doing it.

Im sure there will be more flashpoint costumes coming considering the new movie coming out soon. I see DC acting just like marvel where they want to cross promote their upcoming projects. I never read flashpoint but honestly the season pass dlc set was pretty unimpressive. I would love more than just 4 characters as well but it seems to be the norm for these types of things lately... Most fighting games barely get dlc characters so this is a welcome and if they are anything like the MK DLC characters, im getting super hyped. I just hope that the rumored list of dlc isnt true.... batgirl, zod, and scorpion... supposedly their names are in the code of the disc. Its nice to note that on the mk disc they had a similar situation where fujin and another characters name was on the code of the disc and they werent playable in the game. We ll just find out once they announce character 2.

I don't get to play much. Haven't been able to touch Injustice all week now. And I'm terrible at fighting games. lol So I would get consistently mutilated.

Definitely have to check out an Iphone. Really wanna try out the app. The three on three gameplay looks cool, too. Agree on multiple costumes. Love them, though I could do without Lockdown. And Green Lantern's are all very similar. I would like Parallax as one. That's a popular look and a big design shift, which I would love. There was also an Arrow alt from the TV show. Apparently it was a limited time offer or something. First 50,000 to play online or something like that. I just remember seeing a short video on it.

Forgot about the Flashpoint movie. Anxious for that. I liked the series ok. Flashpoint: Batman was pretty awesome, I thought. And I was one who liked Aquaman's look. Considering MK had four DLC characters, I expected four for this too, but 28 total characters is still cool to me. I wouldn't mind Batgirl if the game didn't already have Batman and Nightwing. I would love to play Barbara Gordon Batgirl, especially a Star Labs story for her, but I would rather them branch into other characters. But, if she does pop up, I won't complain too much. lol Zod wouldn't be too bad. Especially if he had an alt for his look from the new movie. His Star Labs would be interesting to play. Hopefully they come with those. Scorpion? lol I hope not. Two heroes and two villains is definitely expected, but I hope they don't branch out into MK. There's a plethora of possibilities, so I'm curious who all they go with. Lobo was a fantasitic starting point, so I just can't see them dropping the ball on the other three.

I wouldnt get an iPhone JUST for the app haha.. its not THAT good, but there are amazing games on the iphone and even very useful apps so i would get it for those. I have the arrow skin and its pretty awesome. It was for the people that voted on the battle arena thing they were using to promote the game. They had like a tournament of characters that they would do matches every week or two in a ladder match. They used it to promote new characters being introduced as well as new costumes such as the arrow alt in action. It was really just a glorified popularity contest instead of an actual who would win in this fight... batman or green lantern? of course batman because hes more popular. They never mentioned on the site that it was the first 50k people to do it which ive been hearing from alot of places.. im glad i did it when i did then. the alt skin is sweet and different voice is nice too.

As much of a fan of batgirl i am I would just rather have a reskinned batman than for her to take up a dlc slot. There are already 6-7 batman characters in the game, we dont need more batmen soaking up a dc fighter. this isnt Injustice BATMEN among us. Zod would be terrible too. I effing hate that character. One of the most uninteresting characters and one that has every effing attribute that superman has. To take up a character slot that could be for sayyyyy darkseid or swamp thing..... or even MARTIAN MANHUNTER?!?! Zod could easily be another reskin of superman. Since they do this whole different voice actor thing for skins they could easily do it for supes and bats too. I will be an extremely sad puppy if that rumor list is true as i ve already paid for the season pass on impulse thinking they would do very interesting and diverse characters. I wouldnt bet that they come with their star labs or even alts since mks dlc characters had no alts (even tho skarletts was made and on the disc) Which made the characters feel like just empty incomplete shells. It would be great if they have star labs missions and alts but i wouldnt keep my hopes up. The scary thing about scorpion is they do love to do one or 2 guest characters... but i feel scorpions inclusion would be stupid as hell. just bad bad choices if that list is true. srsly... MARTIAN MANHUNTER?!!?! why the hell are they leaving out one of the most important Justice League FOUNDERS?? everyone else is there. ha.

No, lol, I wouldn't just get it for the app. I've been wanting one for a while, but I'm big on procrastination. Added incentive is I can get the app and get new costumes now while I'm big into playing the game. Like adding a "deadline" to it really.

I do remember seeing the tournament. I never voted, though. Don't think I found out about it until they were coming up on the Batman/Superman battle. I wasn't too fond of the game idea when I first heard about it. It wasn't until I stumbled across one of the battles that it caught my interest and I started looking it up. Then, the demo came out, it wasn't exceptional, started hearing about the preorder stuff, and then when the game was released I started hearing extremely positive reviews, save for one or two things here and there. So, I promptly went out and bought it. I was a bit behind.

I do agree, Martian Manhunter would be awesome. I do see why they did the game the way they did, though. The central seven were obvious choices to most, but they wanted to appeal to everybody. And I think they did ok with that. But Martian Manhunter's been highly requested, so I'll be surprised if they don't end up doing him. I grabbed the Season Pass, too, mostly surprised that it was so cheap. 1200 points for 4 characters and the Flashpoint skins. I was planning on getting everything anyway, so I guess I saved some points there. And true, alts are unlikely and expecting Star Labs may be me being overly hopeful. Expect the worst, hope for the best. Guess I'm hoping since Red Son has Star Labs, but of course Flashpoint didn't. That would have been cool. There is a massive realm of characters they could go with. Tempest would be personally cool. Don't have anyone else for Aquaman. Blank Manta maybe. I think Mirror Master would be cool. Get a Flash rogue in there. Arsenal. So so many awesome options. Of course, no matter what, someone will be out there complaining about the choices made because their favorites didn't show up. lol

I was dominating in the iphone game until I came up against Bane who routinely buries my guys with 1 hit. I can't believe how quickly it went from so easy my other 2 wouldn't even get to fight to impossible. I just want Harley's Arkham costume. I was on pace to get it in 2 days. Now that has slowed to a crawl. I wouldn't mind Batman Beyond either but just really want Harley.

Anyway as far as DLC goes we know we're getting Lobo (which seems like a really odd choice). I say we really need Martian Manhunter as others have said. Others I'd like to see are Poison Ivy, Grodd, Supergirl (maybe a Powergirl alt attire), Starfire, Beast Boy (to complete the Titans), Star Sapphire, Metallo...some people off that list. I know there's only rumored to be 3 more. If they are going to go more obscure like Lobo then I'd be happy with Black Lightning.

Dude, Poison Ivy would be so cool to see. Don't think we'll get anymore females though, since the game already has like 6 or 7. That's usually the limit of most fighting games. lol But, even with that, Supergirl or Powergirl would be cool. I could almost see Black Lightning popping in, though.

Really wanting that Arkham Harley myself. Always loved how she looked. Even picked up the Arkham series figure for that reason. And I'm not big on collecting 6 inch figures.

I don't understand why she wasn't in already. Killer Frost? Why not Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy? You get your Sub Zero like character and Ivy plus most people know those two characters.

Thats how the ios game goes and how they suck you in. They want you to spend money on it since its free and make it effing hard. What happened to me was i was stuck on sinestro boss for forever with my 3 bronze charcters. I grinded the hell out of the game and after getting the console game and beating story i got prison superman gold card and had just saved up 75k and got a gold pack with BANE in it. That dude is a monster. I use him and can one hit kill most characters with his level 1! ... so needless to say i used him and got pretty far and the farther you get the more money you get so i saved up again for another gold card and got joker.... and so i got my AC harley. Now I really want batman beyond so i can either save up money again (im stuck again and cant seem to progress) or i can try to boost on the console to get the challenge where it unlocks batman beyond in the ios which in turn unlocks him in the console. One thing i like about the ios game is it interchanges unlocks between games.

As for having poison ivy, as much as she would be cool to have, i wouldnt think they would put yet another batman character in the mix. I feel the DLC character will be the most diverse in selection. I mean afterall they want people to buy them either individually or together so they will and SHOULD be the cream of the crop in diversity. I don t think they ll add another titan as well but there have been alot of demand for starfire. and again as much as i would want powergirl in there, she wouldnt be much different than superman except a pair of tits.... which honestly i have no problem with that. she, IMO, is better than supes.. or hell id even take supergirl over superman.

I wouldnt rule out females in fighting games. There is no real typical amount of females in fighting games. Yes there is typically not as many but with DC universe there are ALOT of awesome unique female characters that could easily make it in the roster as dlc.

Also heres alittle teaser for upcoming skins that they recently released... I can only make out cyborgs, harleys and deathstrokes... obviously their classic outfits... no idea the lower right corners is tho.. maybe WW?

Ok, as much as I think Poison Ivy would be awesome, I agree that more of the Batman family is unlikely to appear. He already takes up a small chunk of the roster. I can see why they didn't use Mr Freeze, though. No matter how you cut it, he's never seen a fast moving character. He just didn't really fit. Of course, I don't really see why they used Killer Frost either. Except to have a Sub-Zero like character. She didn't contribute to the story at all. Was just there to fight. I get everyone else. She's the only one that actually throws me.

And I'm not saying DC doesn't have a great roster of females to choose from. And, of course, we have games like DOA that focus on females. But, Mortal Kombat always felt like it had a limit to them. Kinda felt like it was applying here too. Now, I think if they did Powergirl or Supergirl, they could definitely make them different from Superman. They gave Shazam and Black Adam the same type of abilities, but made them different characters, and also made Sinestro and Green Lantern unique from each other, as well. Not to mention Harley and Joker stand apart much more than I expected them to. So, I have faith that if they went that direction, they could make it work.

From the images there, I think that last one is Wonder Woman. She went through a period there where she wore a jacket with a slightly different look to her uniform. I would presume the upcoming alternate to be that.

Well to be fair, they did essentially include both poison ivy and mr freeze in the arkham asylum level in the holding cells. Some characters in the backgrounds are definitely possibilities to be future DLC like how skarlett from MK9 was in the background of shao khans arena as well as others that were already playable from the start. Killer Frosts choice was more a fit for their obscure wildcard. One that most dont know about as well as filling in more of the female ratio and adding some variety in characters. She fit the lacky/ B to C villain criteria. All the other villains for the most part were A.

Theres always a way to make any similar character play different than others. The one thing is Shazam and black adam and GL and sinestro compliment each other as ultimate rivals. If you look at their pattern of character choices, they put in each heroes major archvillain mostly. Some of course have more than one like supes with doomsday and luthor and batman with half of the cast haha. I dont know alot of shazam and black adam but sinestro is very different than GL in the comics. Yes they both have power rings that form constructs but honestly just about all of the characters in GLs universe do as well. I just think for DLC its alot different than using another character thats simliar and doing more wildcards but in the A ranks. Characters that people really want as well. What sucks is all the females i want in are all essentially similar to other characters as well.... i.e. huntress, powergirl, atrocitus... I would be happy honestly with anyone EXCEPT zod and scorpion... i wouldnt mind batgirl, but i wouldnt really be that excited either.

The jacket also reminds me of death and return of superman's superboy. With the common theme of retro, that screams at me of the wonder woman odyssey version. I would be happy with either as long as its not yet another batman or superman alt.

I can only make out cyborgs, harleys and deathstrokes... obviously their classic outfits... no idea the lower right corners is tho.. maybe WW?

Yeah Bane is the ahole that keeps demolishing my team. I am on the Sinestro branch a few before him.

If its diversity they are looking for then I'd say I would want to see the likes of Black Lightning, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Gorilla Grodd, Firestorm, Blue Beetle, Reverse Flash, Black Manta, Brother Blood, Zatanna. Three of those with Lobo and I'd be happy (well as happy as can be without Poison Ivy).

Does anyone know if any MK characters make an appearance, similar to Akuma in X-Men: Children of the Atom?

They dont but there is a rumor that the rest of the DLC consist of Zod, Batgirl and Scorpion. But I REALLY REALLY hope thats not true. I dont want MK in my DC. Just like having a DC in my MK.. no thank you. but also that rumor list is horrible.

Don't know why they'd bother. We've already got a MK vs DC Universe game

The gameplay between MK vs. DC and MK9 is a lot different. It would just be an easter egg, I'm not calling for MK vs. DC 2.

I think they're keeping the easter eggs to DC only. They seem pretty focused on keeping it separate. Though, it is kinda funny to see the stage backgrounds during story mode. Like Grodd with all the soldiers focusing on him and ignoring the others about to start fighting nearby. Deadshot was cool to see in the background, though. I may end up being wrong, but I really think they're going to focus on keeping it DC.

Well, the hopefulness may have been for nothing. Stumbled across this:

Apparently Batgirl is officially confirmed. Barbara Gordon, at least. Not entirely wild about her outfit, but I'll judge fully whenever I get the character. Guess that put the odds quite high that Zod and Scorpion really are the other two.
