Hey all,

I'm new here. I primary collect MOTUC but I am actually excited to see the upcoming Power Lords toys from the Four Horsemen.

http://www.powerlordsreturn.com/

I remember the original Power Lord toys from when I was a kid. I never had any mainly because I thought they were the ugliest and creepiest toys I have ever seen. The whole two face thing with Adam Power might have been a great idea but was not that great in execution. Sure it was great to be able to change the character from one form to another but the fact the toy had no back and could not be seen from behind bothered me. Even Adam Power's vehicle looked like a big ugly shoe :(

Seeing what the Four Horsemen did with MOTUC I am excited to see what they have in store with Power Lords and just like MOTUC I hope they ditch the action features of the toys and sculpt some really nice looking figures modeled after the original Power Lords art work or comic:

Hopefully we will see more in a couple of weeks at Toy Fair in New York.

What do you guys think?

I had one of those, I don't know where I got it from, but I remember it, I think he had some weird double arms that popped out. I'll have to do some research, see if I can find the one I had.

I'm like you Zomak...as a kid I was aware of Power Lords and was always very intrigued, but I never got any of them, although I did want Adam Power. Even as an adult collector over the years I've been tempted to track them down. So yes, I'm very excited about this announcement.

Never collected this line, in fact the only thing about it I vaguely remember was an ad for them in the back of some comic books.

Pics from Toy Fair... What do you guys think? I love the look, but the figures kind of look like a late 90s, early 2000s DC Direct look. I dunno, I was hoping for a little better articulation.

I like them! I hope they make all the vintage ones too. I think the articulation, or lack there of... is because these will eventually be 3.75 in size. And the 4H are being cost conscious with these and want them to be cheap to make. I guess I can put them with my Star Wars figures, LOL!

I was never into the PL line as a kid either. Actually the chick that turned into that red creature kind of freaked me out as a kid. Looked like all her skin came off and we are looking at her guts. The figures were ugly too for what I remember. Wonder how many figures they are going to redo. Revell came out with them back in 1982.

Yeah, the figures were kinda ugly. AND they broke real easily. I had Adam Power an the purple monster guy and both of them broke real quick. :) But I have fond memories of them.

Yes POWER LORDS!

I have been waiting for this reveal for a long time and now we have a look at what the toys will look like and after a couple of decades Lord Power finally has a back :) The sculpts look fantastic!

After being spoiled with the 6" - 7" scale of my MOTUC, DCU and NECA figures I was a little dissappointed to hear the Power Lord toys would be in the 3.75" scale but there are a couple of positives I see: (1) as someone else already mentioned this will keep the costs down and (2) this opens up the possibility of vehicles.

I saw one of the original drawings of the Powership and it did not look like a big ugly shoe :) It looked like a pretty sleek looking vehicle. I hope we see some vehicle prototypes or at least sketches at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con.

BTW, just to get caught up with the story line I was able to pick up the complete original comic book mini series from DC comics on E-bay for just .99 plus shipping. If you are interested in Power Lords I highly recommend you pick up the comics now. It is a great way to get to know about the story line and not have to worry about the original ugly toy designs. Something tells me once the news of these toys spreads the price of these comics will go up.

Are they making all the figures from the 80's line? Also, what about the alter egos of the characters?

I really hope so. I guess we will hear more at Comic Con but if there is a subscription set up like MOTUC I assume they would be able to pump out all the characters and if the line does well hopefully some vehicles.

I lost interest in these. I think it best to devote all attention to MOTUC instead.
