Precisely and its rather insulting to believe that the vast majority
of collectors would even be that naive enough to believe this. If they're
not going to be truthful regarding this matter then they should have never
addressed it at all imho.

I am guessing he must think we are all dumbasses... You should print out Mattel's response and take it to the store...

That would be awesome! Someone has to do it! Imagine what TG would say after his outright lies are exposed lol. It would be priceless.

In all honesty what would be priceless about it or what do you think would happen if Wal-Mart came out and said Mattel was full of BS? At the end of the day whether you do or don't think TG is full of BS, what really changes? If you collect MOTUC are you suddenly going to stop, and if you don't collect MOTUC why would Mattel care that much what you think? I have to say as far as "Toy Conspiracies" go this one rates pretty low. It was certainly a curiosity as to how this happened, but in the end what does it matter if Mattel did or didn't deliberately send these to Wal-Mart? Certainly if this had been a test or a possible prelude to MOTUC returning to retail (which I would have said would have been a good thing) that would be a big deal. But this clearly seems to be a 1 time thing, so as to why, who authorized it or what have you, it really seems kinda immaterial in the overall scheme of things. Most of you don't really seem to care for Mattel or TG but you like MOTU so you collect MOTU and I don't see that changing regardless of whether TG lied or not.

Really, this whole scenerio has been done over and over:
1.Mattel does something that's questionable.
2.Fans respond...usually by name calling or proclaiming Mattel to be greedy a-holes
3.Fans give Mattel money for their toys anyway.
4.Mattel doesn't change.
Mattel has been guilty of some shaddy stuff, I've been guilty of bashing Mattel in the past, but I look and see a shoebox full of their DC toys in my closet that I willingly purchased and kind of like. I realized I had to put a cap on my Mattel bashing.
One Walmart in all the US has an endcap of Robotos. We don't know how they got there.
This is nothing.

It would be priceless to see him have to admit he lied. Will it change anything? Maybe he'll see that he can't just mug off people with lame excuses and start telling the truth. Or maybe just say nothing at all and let Pixel Dan be his mouthpiece.
It probably won't change any buying habits but that was not my point.
The only thing I will ever buy direct from Matty is Castle Grayskull, and I'm dreading that when I should be looking forward to it.
I love Scott's enthiusiasm, but he simply cannot play the role of a fan/ customer and brand manager at the same time. No matter how much he loves MotUC, when money is concerned you have to be honest. There are simply too many variables in his job that are lose/ lose situations for him. It boils down to not making promises you can't keep.

Nothing TG has a great job and proboly a nice life, why would he care what some fan boy says?, I always see him at comic con and he just shurgs off the negative comments. Motu shows up at WM , cool but why the all the hate? I understand the complaints about various stuff such as digital latreen and price increases but some people seem obsessed with trashing Mattel and anyone associated. Now I hear people trashing Pixie Dan, I've hung out with him 2 comic cons ago, he's pretty cool, he's a toy fan like us and he does bring up the negatives of motu when there is an error or something he does not like. Just negative complaints to be negative is why I deleted my FB account, it just became a place to troll, spam out memmes, and cry all day about petty crap. Somethings are just not that important to get so mad about

Many bash Mattel for good reason. TG happens to be an agent of Mattel and that coupled with his doofiness, phoniness, and history of being snarky and flat out lying to everyone makes fans hate the guy. Perhaps hate is a strong word... I'll say dislike instead.
As far as why we bother... why we get all amped up about it.... I don't know why. Some fans are very passionate about this property and hate to see the corporate side fudge it all up. Yes, nothing we can do about it but with all the money we spend on it, we should have the right to complain or vent. Unfortunately Toyguru puts himself out there. He basically has a target on his back... and the funny thing is, I think he likes the abuse.
In all my years of browsing forum sites based on this line. I have never seen a fan who dislikes TG complain about someone who gives praise to Toyguru. But I ALWAYS see fans who like Toyguru complain about the ones who have negative things to say about him... It's always a one way street, just something I noticed.

and lets not forget about the wanna be net rambos we got since internet excists. not once did i hear that someone talks trash about toyguru when thousands of fans are at sdcc right next to him. pleasing everyone isnt possible and i am sure toyguru knows that. i mean a fan is so overprotective it amazes me sometimes. right now there is a huge complaint about some color sheme of some snakes that come out of snakefaces body. geee i would complain if a fish head would come out of his body but ohhh its a red snake instead of green. my god the end of the world. childhood ruined and so on. some fans really have to look themself in the mirror sometimes and let things go. complain about qc that is a huge deal. broken figures, a not working site and costumer service is what i see as a serious issue to complain about and i would call toyguru out on this.
