This is timely because I just set up my ML X-Men for display last night.

My team would be heavily influenced on my bias towards the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne teams.
The all time great X-team will always be

Cyclops
Wolverine
Nightcrawler
Colossus
Storm
Kitty Pryde

However, I'm a big fan of the animated series roster

Cyclops
Wolverine
Storm
Beast
Jubilee
Gambit and Rogue (too interesting to be left off the team)

I'm not a fan of modern Marvel's love of filling the roster with villians and d-bags (Emma Frost wore out her welcome long ago. Namor? Come on.) However, I would put Magneto on a team just because his and Prof X's relationship is so interesting. I'd probably find a spot for Iceman, Archangel, and Psylocke and between that list of guys I'd split them up into the old "Gold" and "Blue" teams and have X-Men and Uncanny X-Men be the only two X-books on the shelves. Something that will never happen.

I'm not picking Cyclops because I feel like they've made him one of the most unlikable characters over the last few years. I'm not picking Rogue because I feel like the team should have at least 2 original members so I pick:

Iceman is my favorite X-Man. I've always felt like he gets the shaft.

What I mean is, I want Xavier on the team as the leader. However, he doesn't go out on missions with the team regularly so I'm including as the 8th member. If I have to remove someone for him, it'll be Nightcrawler that's first to go.

4) Pheonix (jean Grey gold/green costume)
5) Wolverine (80's)
6) Collossus
7) Psylocke (90's)

However, I would cancel all the wolverine titles and x-tra x titles. I would make uncanny x men the only title.

Toy Biz ML did a lot of great X-Men toys, some of which are underrated. TBML Beast, Nightcrawler, brown Wolverine, and Gambit are figures that you just can't improve on.

Toy Biz ML did a lot of great X-Men toys, some of which are underrated. TBML Beast, Nightcrawler, brown Wolverine, and Gambit are figures that you just can't improve on.

I don't see anyone really improving ML Beast, it's just like it jumped out of a comic page also love the Gambit. As for my ideal X-men team I'm gonna go with:

-Jean Grey(psychics come in handy)
-Storm
-Rogue(great characterization potential due to her powers)

seeing lists like this always makes Jean Grey stick out, i've always hated her lack a codename in modern times, yes I get Marvel girl sucks, but something besides her name needs to stick.
