I miss being able to walk in a store and getting exited at finding that new wave!! Grabbing either the entire wave if I could afford it, or picking the coolest one I really wanted!!

I miss looking online during Toy Fair, SDCC, and NYCC to see the new figures to be released soon!! Clicking on each subsequent picture, trying to get as much info I could on the waves!

Before that I miss reading up in the new waves via ToyFare!!

But I also miss them being under $10!! :/ And with that Hamilton we still got a BAF piece!!! What a bargain they once were!!

I just miss DCUC.....

You could replace DCUC with just about anything anymore. A year ago it could have been Marvel Legends. This last year it could have been DCUC or G.I.Joe. Heck with the way Hasbro restock just about any of their toylines it could be SW or MU too. But all in all I understand what your saying. DCUC had a pretty healthy run at retail, and the follow up lines look like they could be nice, if they ever show up anywhere other than speciality stores.

Its hard to miss for me the stores in my area still have the older waves collecting dust on the pegs and they don't learn how to mark them down just to move them

It's just when you invest so much time in a line, you want it to continue!! Especially one so expansive and fan friendly!!

I mean, they gave us Super Powers version of characters for those of us who grew up with that line!! They didn't have to, but they did it as an homage to the line and it's fans!! I know my Steppenwolf and Mantis are the Super Powers version!!!

For those that grew up on the Super Friends cartoon, they gave them an entire wave devoted to the cartoon!! Who could have thought that you'd see Apache Chief one day as a BAF???

I know you can still get them, one per month! But I was questioning the prices at retail!! They cost more now, have no BAF piece, and you have to pay for shipping!!! for me the line is dead! Sad, I would have continued buying them at retail!!

Even with the DC sub still going...not much excitement or much to be said about waiting for expensive collection fillers via mail

I don't miss it! The newest stuff has been way better than the last few waves at retail. Don't mind paying a wee bit more for better characters and quality and it has been over all.

I miss it as we'll, but the Nu52 really killed my interest in DC, as well as some issues with Mattycollector and Digital River really killing my love for the line. On the plus side, DCUC paid for a great summer family vacation, paid off my car, and paid a few other bills that needed to be taken care of, when I decided it was time to let go.

Sucks Wheeljack!! It was readily available in my area. A few characters were bought up quick, like Black Vulan, but most could be found!!

Featofstrength, I know what you mean!! I really don't visit this board anymore!! Forget about posting! And yeah, I don't think I'll be getting Platinum or Lead, but it would have been nice to complete those teams!! Especially Doom Patrol!!

Is the quality better guys?? I don't know, have stopped collecting!!

I have the entire DCUC collection...including variants, 2-packs, etc...

I wish it was still continuing but Mattel couldn't get these figures into stores to save their lives. Then they started blaming the fans/collectors by saying we weren't requesting them enough.

Mattel just sucks.

They were all loose, but I had a pretty much complete collection through wave 20 with the all of the variants. All in all, I broke even plus a little extra because I supplemented my collection with DCD. I enjoyed the ride but could not go forward with DC and Mattel based on the decision to disregard 70+ years of history with characters that I really enjoyed.

I just piced up a few "must haves" and a few guys that I thought Mattel did better than DC Direct; Aquaman, Green Arrow, Azrael Batman and a few other Bat villians.

The line went for 20 waves. You just don't see that happen a lot. It was time to be done.

Someone else touched on it, and they were right...the toy ailes have been terrible for a few months now. DC is gone, ML hasn't shipped anything beyond wave 2, GI Joe was killed by the movie debacle, and Star Wars has too much Pahntom Menace stuff to be restocked. It's a wasteland of overpriced 3 3/4" Avengers and Sidey movie stuff and those japanese monster things that turn into balls.

DCUC was awesome until they got into the themed waves. I'm sure some people liked the Super Powers figures, but not me. Each of those slots could have been used for Poison Ivy, Huntress, or any other comic character. It wasn't just the Superfriends wave though, but the Rainbow Lanterns wave as well. Those two waves pegwarmed wherever I went (Superfriends for Walmart, Rainbow Lanterns for Target). After that I barely found Wave 19, and Wave 20 came out after "All Stars" was announced, and then cancelled.

I'll be honest, when the DCU first started up I tremendously enjoyed collecting the line. The price point was perfect, the sculpts were amazing, and around these parts they were readily available. Once Mattel realized they were sitting on a gold mine and started to increase the price with every other wave I knew the jig was up. I had a good time collecting the line and I don't regret it one bit. It was bittersweet when I finally gave up and sold everything, but I did enjoy putting a big chunk of change into my savings account. I will have to admit every once and a while I see a new DC figure and I do want it. Like that Batman Unlimited Frank Miller Dark Knight returns figure, that's pretty sweet!

The quality has been much improved on the sub figs on paint and plastic not breaking. I have not had one issues with a breakage from a sub figure and reports are no where near as high as it was on retail waves. To anwser you LJ on that.

I wish I had picked up more of these guys.....I'm not a hardcore DC fan but I did manage to find a few of these guys on clearance clarence, I snagged up The Demon (very f-ing cool), Cyborg, Raven, Martian Manhunter, but no Batmin, I wish I coulda've found him. I did see the yellow Lantern Batman? but his crazy style was too much for me and pocketbook......great line though

Yeah, I really loved the DCUC line in the early days and also prior to that when Mattel was just starting off with Batman and Superman themed characters with DCSH. I think DCUC really reached its peak with the Atom Smasher, Giganta and Chemo waves. It was around that time when I was glad to finally get so many of my all time favorites in Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Barry Allen Flash, Vigilante, Gentleman Ghost, Green Arrow, Black Canary and Deadshot. I really enjoyed the figures in Wave 20, Reverse Flash and Red Arrow are two of my favorites from this line. Yet, Mattel really dropped the ball by not including a scythe for the C'n'C Nekron...Really?

Yet, the main thing that bugged me about this line was that I encountered stuck joints in these figures quite often. I'm not a fan of the Sub. at all...I'm keeping 7 figures from the 2012 subscription and plan on selling the rest I don't need or want for that matter. For this reason I didn't even bother with the 2013 subscription....I'm glad I made the right choice too, since Huntress and Red Hood are the only ones that caught my eye. It was a good run collecting DCUC though, I enjoy these DC figures very much. Now I'm just hoping more of the most fan demanded figures see the light of day.

It was a really great line, but it got a little too obscure a little too quickly. As BigBot said, some of those slots could have and should have been used for some bigger names that were more demanded. And putting some really great figures into a Walmart exclusive line that most of us could never get probably didn't help. Still, it had a great run that was better than most lines. Certainly one of the best lines to come along in the last 10-20 years. Those first few waves blew me away.

The way I look at it is that I lived through the Super Powers line with only 33 figures offered and many,many deserving characters missed.

This line did a great job giving us the most complete D.C. line ever offered.

I think that before the Green Lantern wave, Mattel did a good job of bringing us a well rounded mix of popular characters and background ones!!

This is what made me really embrace the line, the hopes that we'd see characters from all over DC!! That and the road they were going down seemed to pace the releases at a good rate!!

Of course, don't really know why the line really folded?? Was it really running out of steam? Were the stores not wanting them anymore? Was it a request from DC who was doing their own modern changes!! I just wish the line was still in stores!!

I think if each wave would have ended up being an exclusive for a store, it could have prevented glut of some waves? Just thinking out loud!

I think Mattel's distribution hurt the line, too. Mattel loves to blame the retailers, but they're the only toy company who has trouble getting their product to toy shelves. You were lucky to see the figures at all, and you should start playing the lottery if you were lucky enough to see a refresh of a wave at the same store cause it just didn't happen.

I miss DCUC too, but at the same time I'm saving money not buying so many. Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe are the only lines I'm collecting consistently anymore and I can pick up a few MOTUC figures here and there too.

Mattel can blame retailers all they want but they really are the most backwards company out there when it comes to distributing their products and at the same time, can you really blame retailers for not wanting to buy certain lines? The Super Friends wave was never going to be a mass retail wave and they managed to piss off customers with their Walmart waves.
