I thought it would be fun to start a thread about our memories here.
One that really comes to mind is how we used to see unpainted protos of the JVC figs prior to release and we would all be guessing names and paint schemes. I remember several people comparing Dart to spirit and sgt. Savage, and claiming depth charge's protoype was clearly a black man? (not sure why) All that speculation was great. I remember that an infamous poster would come and yell about JayC being a theif for posting the pics and he was eventually banned. He said it was illegal to post them due to them being stolen from the factories etc. You guys remember this stuff?

yeah, Kevin is a great dude! I never went to another Joecon after that, but he used to drive by my house and hook me up with extra stuff that he picked up at them.
and yeah, at Frisco there weren't that many people. I think that's why they never came back to the West Coast. (oh well, I guess that was good for us because we were able to scoop up a bunch of the HissII, the BEST Con item ever, without much hassle)

I haven't listened to the full episiode yet, just through your interview and kept listening trying to figure out what your username was! Tell Skarapz hi for me, he would probably remember better as nasburado. Change is not inherently good or bad, but it's inevitable. I wanted to deny the fact that discussion was shifting away from the board setting and into social media, but it is true. It does make it less organized imo, but thankfully there still some boards around. Even if it can never be the same again I'd love for the boards to be have a growth spurt.

I remember a period where it was always me and you posting at 3 or 4 in the morning! remember that? Yeah some have moved on to other boards, I run into them elsewhere and it's good there still in the hobby.

In the beginning I didn't much worry about who was who, who said what. They were all just faceless posts in cyberspace. Now I'm coming to know more people. Recently I've had a LOT of help getting stuff from people I hardly know at all and it's very much appreciated. There's some good folks here.
Between this and yojoe.com, I'm good on my message boarding, don't really feel the need to pick up and go anywhere else. If I ever stop posting here it will likely be because cost has driven me from the hobby.

I started posting and reading everyone's comments and I was quickly educated from just reading people's comments. But it was different here, it seemed like we had out own little group of people, it wasn't too big and you never really got flamed too bad, if at all, for any question no matter how "newb" it was.
10 years later I check ADC/TNI on a daily basis, that ESPN, and USAToday, it's a habit. I don't post as much but I still check the site and forums on a daily basis.

toynation was our darn near recreation of adc. It didn't last long and got stole quickly. We didn't have the news just discussion, and I think that was a bit factor. Not to mention weweren't that original. Like i said earlier, i was younger than and I have apologized to JayC since then, I took a couple of things he did personal that I don't think where meant to be and overreacted and left. Those were fun times though.

Having all the boards in one placed always seemed the best to me. I am sure Jay get's more ad money or something this way, and that's fine, but I miss that. the other folks were always more likely to drop in and visit the joe forum as it still counted towards their post count!

I didn't like it at first either, but the marvelousnews forums are better now. they get alot more traffic than the marvel forum here and there is a pretty established community of people there. I post mostly in the MU 3 3/4 section

I rarely buy Marvel Legends now too. ML died when Toybiz lost the license. Hasbro's just aren't even close. BUT, I do really like the smaller Marvel Universe line. They go with GiJoes great!

Believe me I've been tempted!! But I've managed to fight it off, but when I see the range of characters they put out in the smaller line sometimes I wish I had picked some up.
