Ironic in that he called some of the dialogue "ropey". Wonder what he would have thought about the prequils. ("Wizards"!)
Prophetic in that he claimed that people were reading too much into it. Compared to today's standards...?

I so enjoy seeing these older interviews, especially with the more elusive, classically trained actors that have the same-wide-eyed responses to the whole thing that everyone else does. It reminds me of the innocent, light-hearted fun that Star Wars represents. It's like Sir Alec said, we all tend to "read too much into it all", and that it's just meant to be "simple stuff for all ages".
This stuff to me is like when you've been gone for a long time and you get to go back to your grandparents' house one more time, and it's just as cozy, familiar, and inviting as you remember it to be. Great stuff...
