I loved the Movie!! It had the Action and it was funny. I went with people who have never really watched Trek and they loved it! I have to say, Abrams did allright.

I LOVED it! I haven't seen anything Star Trek for a while. I LOVE the Original Series the best, and also enjoy the movies and the other spin-off shows too. But this was a LOT of FUN. I just let go of the theorys and went on the ride. I imagine, any descripencies here can be fixed somehow (like they've done before in the TV and Movies), and it can always be seperated if you want from the other properties.

I also saw Angels and Demons (because my niece took me along with her friend (otherwise I wouldn't have gone) and I enjoyed it. As not being a Dan Brown reader, I can honestly say, they probably did a great job in making this movie enjoyable to watch (w/o over-explanations). I imagine the book is better (so it's said), but at least I understand the movie without reading the book.

I guess I sort of compare that experience with people who don't know anything about Star Trek who went to see this movie. It was fun, and makes me think about reading the book (Angels and Demons). Well, maybe... It's kinda thick... Well, next time maybe people who saw the Star Trek movie happen see an episode on TV (whatever one is on), they may be curious to watch it. Who knows...

I've already posted my personal review of this movie, but I just wanted to say that I really loved how they managed to make this a reboot/origin movie yet retain some element/acknowledgement (in the form of Nemoy's Spock) seamlessly and make it make perfect sense. I just really liked how everything tied together, how Nero suddenly being flung back through time changed so much, yet it still had the feel of the original series at the same time while seeming fresh and brand-new. I loved it and would love to see it all over again.
