Ok here is the deal. We are going to run a contest between now and the end of the year to see who has the ultimate G.I.Joe "Fansite". First let me just say that this is meant to be in good fun. Here is how it will work. Each website (Anyone with a URL that is dedicated solely to covering the world of GIJoe in some way is qualified to enter) who wishes to participate will need to put together a team of no less than 3 people and no more than 5 from their respective website. The teams can consist of anyone from that website whether it be a vol, admin, owner or just a user who wishes to help represent their favorite site. Each team will need to pick a team captain who will be the primary point of contact for each team. Once your team is put together you will need to announce your team in this thread which will be pinned at the top of this section. (Each member will have to register here in order to participate in the competitions).

We will then over the course of December hold a number of competitions that will include the following:

1. G.I.Joe Toy Trivia Contest
2. G.I.Joe Comic Book/Cartoon Trivia Contest
4. G.I.Joe Ultimate Collection Contest
3. G.I.Joe Custom Contest
5. G.I.Joe Dio Contest

The winner of each competition will be awarded a certain number of points and at the end the team with the most points will be named the TNI Ultimate G.I.Joe Fansite for the year. We will do a full feature on that winning website which will be posted on the main page of TNI (and there may be some type of monetary prize awarded to the team members, though we are still working out that part.) Once we have all the team entries at the beginning of each competition we will list complete rules for each one. Basically the winners of the trivia contest will be based on a point system determined by which team gets the most answers correctly and the others will be determined by a panel of impartial TNI judges.

We encourage each team that decides to enter to promote themselves and their website they represent as much as possible over the course of the games. If teams want to create site badges to be placed in their signatures with links back to their sites that will be allowed, we will even host the graphics for you if need be. We can customize your member titles as well if you like. Basically we want each site to be able to show themselves off as much as possible over the course of the competitions with the ultimate payoff being a full feature spread about the site on the main page of TNI and of course bragging rights for being the winner .

So start getting your teams together now. You have till the end of November to get your teams submitted. Just announce the team in this thread with the name of the site you will be representing, the team name if you so choose to have one and the names of the people on the team along with the name of the Team Captain. Please only one team entry per website.

And again this is all meant to be done in good fun and a way for everyone to promote their own websites. Anyone or team who conducts themselves on these boards in an un-professional manner will be subject to dis-qualification from the contest.

Update: Im extending the team entry deadline to this Wed 12/3. So if you haven't already enterted your team you now have till the end of Wed. The first competition will be starting next week. Stay tuned for more deatails on that.

Just a few updates. We will be offering a pize to the team that wins. Each team member will get a $50 store credit from an as of yet un-nammed etailer.

On a second note when picking your team members you will want to prob include a customizer and dio maker. For those particular competitions the entry subitted by each team will have to be made by at least one team member of the group. So basically a team won't be able to submit another persons work in those competitions. The entries can be already made or seen customs so you don't have to make a brand new one for the contest, though you are certainly weclome to. More details to come.

TNI itself won't be participating in the actual contest. For one technically TNI isn't a GIJoe fansite an 2 and more imporantly because we are running the contest we need to remain neatural. However as I mentioned before I do have some surprises for TNI board members coming up so you guys won't be left out of all the fun.

Ok a few more details on the competitions that will begin in December.

For the Custom Contest, the entry will be of 1 figure and it must have been made by one of your team members. It can either be something new made specifically for the competition or something previously made. You must provide a reciept on how the figure was made and images. The images can be sent in and we can host them here or you can host them on your team's representative site and post links.

For the dio-contest it will be one entry per-team, it can be a joint creation or something made by one specific team member. Again it can be something made specially for this competition or something you have already made. A reciept must be provided with images on how its made and a description of the story you story tells. Again images can be sent to us to host or you can host the images on your own site with links.

Ultimate Collection - you will pick one of your team members own collection and provide images of it. how you want to phot it is up to you, you will also want to include a list of what items are in the collection, if something is listed that isn't readibly viewable in your images you may be asked to provide additional images for judgeing. We will be looking at the following factors.

Size
Condition
trophey items (rare or valuable items in the collection)

The collection can consist of anything Joe releated, doesnt just have to be toys.


The trivia contests will consist of short answer and multiple choice questions. Basically a team member will be selected for each round to answer for the team in that answer. Questions will be posted with a certain amount of time given to get me the answer. We will have some bonus rounds as well. More details will be coming on those.




Don't forget to have your team listed in this thread if you wish to compete, the deadline to get your team entered is this Sunday.

LOL, I was reading on a couple other boards where the webmasters have told their members not to participate. It's somewhat sad that something meant to be done in fun and actually benefits the community is being discouraged by certain sites.
