Ah yes. What's a movie today without some sort of toy tie-in? I might get a Wonka but i'll have to see them for myself before I decide if I want a compete set. If this works, maybe they'll make a line for the origina movie. Then I can have the two Wonkas duke it out. @firedevil@

that's a bit... odd. I dunno, I dont know if i'd want Johnny Depp as a toy. But I am however, interested to see how the line turns out! Should prove quite intriguing!! :P

At first I was like wow this is awesome news! I don't know about you guys but lately there haven't been enough movie toy tie ins. Then I noticed that one kids was dressed like a skater punk 12 year old and it just made me realize that this movie is probably gonna suck, and if it doesn't then at least it won't be as good as the original. If they made an original movie toy line I'd buy em all even if I never did anything with them. Definitely would have to have the Grandpa, Charlie, Wonka, some oompa loompas, and the fat german kid.

I think we all already know that this isn't going to be as good as the original. I mean, the original was a classic and still is. It's not easy to duplicate that. Especially when the person making the movie actually doesn't even like the original. That being said, i'm a big Tim Burton fan and refuse to disregaurd this movie without seeing it first.
Oh, and btw you're right. I'm would most likely buy a line of the original movie. As for Burton's movie, I think i'll only be buying Wonka.

I *loved* the book as a child, including the sequel. However, I NEVER could stand the movie. I'm hoping this new version will be more enjoyable.

I can't wait to see the movie. I've watched the trailer multiple times. Depp looks like he's going to make an awesome Wonka. I might pick up his figure out of this toyline, but nothing more.

I guess this is the look for the packaging, and also a run down of the characters

Aw, no cowboy suit for Mike? I guess that makes sense. It was a a little dated. I mean, how many little kids watch westerns anymore? He should be wearing a Dragonball Z t-shirt or something today. @loll@

I dont think I'm interest in these figure but I'm definately going to watch the movie.
I like the book and I don't think I'll be dissapointed since Tim Burton is directing.
It mostly wont' be the same as the original since it is an old story which I think it's reasonable to be updated.

Plus I hear he REALLY doesn't like the old movie so it will not be at all like the old one.

Jhonny Depp is the toyman!! He has been done in plastic many times:

Edward Scissorhands
Sleepy Hollow (i guess there was a Constable Crane figure)
Pirates of the Caribbean
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

any other toy lines with Depp ???

Perhaps that new stop-motion line Tim Burton's doing. Johnny's in that.

What about the version of Depp from McFarlanes Sleepy Hollow..

The photobucket link does not work for me..

The ones posted by DMB do however.

After looking at the Violet, Charlie and Wonka I am not that impressed.
Although I am kind of digging the skull shirt that Charlie is wearing.
