  1. I personally am glad that this con is close enough for me to attend, but I find the packages to be absurdly expensive in the current economic climate. I will wait in the long lines and shell out my $12 for GA on Saturday, and then use whatever funds I have left after hitting the dealers tables to enjoy some of the grown up entertainment choices that Providence has to offer Safe travels to any of you TNI-ers attending the con. Peace.
  2. I just remember early in the Marvel comics run, I think it was issue #23, CC was captured by GI Joe and explained to them that his helmet had an explosive device that would detonate if tampered with. Then Duke told him that if CC wouldn't take it off, then he would pull it off right over his ears. I always liked that exchange, and it shows how much more badass the helmet is than the cowl. Oh, and don't forget wannabe Darth Vader helmet from Armored Cobra Commander. Worst of the three by far.
  3. I for one am glad to give my wallet a break for a while. I will save up for the Resolute 7 pack and have a little extra money for "extra curricular activities" during Joe Con weekend in Providence
  4. I loved the show back then , and still enjoy it today. I contend that script-wise it is no weaker than the majority of Smallville episodes, and it would be a viable concept today. It unfortunately fell victim to the same Amanda Pays curse that laid waste to the surprisingly good Max Headroom. I was too young to have the hots for Linda Carter, and Margot Kidder didn't do anything for me, so Amanda and Marina Sirtis were my first fanboy crushes. Then there came Teri Hatcher, and Charisma Carpenter, and Lucy Lawless, and Summer Glau, and ............ ...sorry, I got a little carried away there.
  5. Alternating between Tatsunoko v Capcom and Mario Sonic Winter Olympics on my Wii, and Batman Arkham on the Xbox360.
  6. Michelle Obama Buckaroo Banzai or Mad Max?
  7. The only figures I don't have yet that I want to find are Kamkura and City Strike ( Sigma Six) Snake Eyes.
  8. I have a few: Captain America Krull Showdown in Little Tokyo Tango and Cash The Last Boy Scout Robot Jox Twice Upon a Time Popeye Daredevil Supergirl Rad Gleaming the Cube Wow, I guess I like a lot of unpopular flicks. No accounting for taste, I suppose. Peace.
  9. For those not finding ROC figures at Wal Mart, look for a special display full of the products, not in the toy isles. I have found that they are usually in the main isles nearest to the bikes. Happy hunting.
  10. Seriously, the best way to get rid of cigarette smell from plastic is to soak the figures in a 25%/75% solution of Listerine to water for 3-4 hours. I buy a lot of figures at yard sales and flea markets, and that concoction always works for almost any odors. Good Luck.
  11. Unfortunately the DIC series was already being produced under the auspices of Duke being deceased, (originally Duke died from that snake to the heart, but the Doc voice over at the end was added due to the backlash created from Optimus Prime being killed in the TF movie) and moving from a campy action adventure series to a straight toy whoring machine. I would be remiss not to mention the attempt to make it more "international". Unfortunately, the animation quality was worse than the Sunbow series, the team had no real leader anymore, and the toys went neon. This, coupled with a retail environment in which Wal-Mart and Target did not yet span the continent, and with no internet, made it damn near impossible for even the most ardent Joe fans to even find the later waves of figures. To wit, it is my contention that these factors led to the cancellation of the toy line, not poor sales of the movie figures.
  12. I just PO'd mine. If you are a AAA member, you get a discount. This is worth it for me not to have to drive all over to find these. Peace #US1#
  13. Ultra...Magnus...I pass the Matrix on to you... or Doc, don't let the customizers take my head. Hawk always looks that constipated.
