On TMZ this morning, WWE Superstar Darren Young revealed to the WWE Universe that he is gay. WWE is proud of Darren Young for being open about his sexuality, and we will continue to support him as a WWE Superstar. Today, in fact, Darren will be participating in one of our Be A STAR anti-bullying rallies in Los Angeles to teach children how to create positive environments for everyone regardless of age, race, religion or sexual orientation.

Good for him by coming out, but all I see now is the WWE incorperating it into a storyline and then not knowing what to do with it down the line. I hope they just let it be because there is no way they won't do more damage then good with it in a storyline.

By the tweets alone you know this is going to get milked for good publicity and storyline incorporation is a given.

Kind of like how they tried to turn Billy Gunn gay?

The big difference with Billy was that he is straight and they can always go back and say it was an angle. They can't with this. The big problem I see is they making this into a storyline and then when/if it doesn't work out them turning Young heel and gay rights group being upset with a gay man being portrayed in a bad light. It's just a PR nightmare waiting to happen.

I suspect the WWE is savvy enough to just not really bring it up as far as storylines and such go. The best way to come out looking good for WWE is exactly what was mentioned in one of those tweets above: Simply don't make it a "thing."

This gets a little old this whole look at me i am gay thing. No one would give a damn if i would put up a video where i am hetero. Wwe will make a big deal out of it. They didnt stopped at paul bearers death so why should they not go with this. Pretty sure he will be the next wwe champion so it will be the biggest headline ever.

He'll get future endeavoured in six months now.

Before he came out I thought he might since they really haven't really done anything with him and the fact that Titus O Neill having the "it" factor more than him but now I think he's safe at least until the next time Linda McMahon runs in an election.

The real question is how can WWE use this to push Cena further. I wonder if we'll see an angle of Young getting "bullied" by a heel for coming out and Cena will come out and start a promo about how Darren Young is the bravest guy on the roster for what he did AND IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY WITH THAT THEN I WILL KICK YOUR ASS 'CAUSE THE CHAMP IS HERE!
