Got my first masterpiece figure-Acid Storm. Its a pretty neat toy, and the biggest transformer I've ever owned (also the most costly). Haven't really been a big transformers fan since I was a kid, but I am really looking forward to the upcOming Smokescreen figure. Do you guys think Hasbto will release the cars in the US so that I dont have to import him (at what I assume is a higher price)?

Congrats on your first MP. I read some rumblings recently on TFW2005 that Hasbro may be bringing Sideswipe over. Seems to be just rumors at the moment, but if Sideswipe comes, I imagine the rest will follow. If you're comfortable ordering from Japanese sites, you might be able to grab one when Smokescreen's release date rolls around in mid-December. You'd save yourself $20-25 over BBTS's price even with shipping included (provided you go with the cheapest shipping option). I'd advise you to pre-order, but unfortunately pre-orders have closed already at the JP shops I'm familiar with.

If he did, he should try bringing his receipt in to get a price adjustment.

Thanks for the help guys. Because of you I was able to get twenty five dollars back. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. I guess I'll try pre-ordering Smokescreen then, just in case Hasbro never gets around to him. So many cool figures are coming out; from Star Wars, NECA, Marvel Select, and Marvel Legends. I'm gonna be broke.

Star Saber won the 30th anniversary Masterpiece vote in Japan. Armada Prime came in second (surprisingly to me), and Fort Max came in last place (really surprisingly to me).

Armada Prime is a surprise... Maybe people want to see more of the infrared gimmick...

Same here. SS is expected, but FMax and APrime? If anything, I was expecting Fmax #2 and APrime somewhere further down. In a way, I'm glad SS win because that's an easy pass for me since the Victory characters did not make any impact during my youth. If it was FMax or Powermaster Prime, that would've been hard to make since space is my limitation.

looks cool, but it's an easy pass for me for the same reason reminator noted; SS did not impact my childhood.

I don't think anyone should be surprised at Fort Max placing so low. Japanese fans probably just realized his price would be insanely high.

I'm really happy the Armada Prime was voted so high.

I think maybe folks wanted to see that design *not* hampered by the auto transform gimmick and given a poseable super mode. ^_^

Apparently Armada was insanely popular in Japan.

armada was well liked here as well or at least on tni :) I remember it got a great amount of talking going on about the toys & the tv show

Well, yeah, insanely popular as far as TF goes.

I was just over in Japan and went to Akihabara and everything, and man, I saw NO Transformers. A lot of Gundam and a lot of Kamen Rider, but no TFs.

As far as the Star Saber Masterpiece, I'll just have to see how it comes out.

I'm not a collector driven by nostalgia at all. I have no real connection to Transformers from my youth ( I was too old for that) and I certainly have no connection to Sideswipe as a character, but man, that is one cool-ass toy, and I love it.

If Star Saber is a really great toy, I may very well get it.

They're around, you just have to know where to go. A friend of mine went over there last month as well for his honey moon. He found some shops in the Akihabara area with TF stuff, but as you say it is mostly dominated by other brands.

Yeah, I guess Japanese fans are rational and stuff.

As cool as characters like Grimlock and Soundwave are, I'm actually glad to see something a little different and unfamiliar being made into a MP. Probably won't get imported by Hasbro, though.
