Combat Heroes Rise of Cobra CC *SPOILERS*

I think this movie is taking on a more of a sci-fi/miliary feel than I initially thought.

I'd be happy if it goes that route. I'd hate it if it were a ninja movie with army guys. I liked the Mummy so I'm going to give this a shot.

That just CC filling in for Darth Vader. @smilepunch@

Given how we'll probably get like 500 different versions of CC & Duke. This is probably just a look that he has for about a half second during the movie. Therefore there is a need to produce a figure. Next we'll get CC with his mask & Duke will be in his scuba gear. lol

I was thinking the very same thing. It still seems pretty lame to go with the scarred up and freaky looking head like Darth Vader has, for CC here, which is what it's looking like. Yeah sure, he'll probably get his traditional helmet later on to cover it, but still.

I'm still irritated about the skinny puke they've got playing Destro. Destro was more of a Darth Vader imitation than CC, but they've gone all flip flop on it.

Cobra Commander looking like this makes sense based on the script. No hes not a disfigured snake man. And he does have a couple different looks in the movie but not actually as Cobra Commander. If that makes any sense. Also Destros mask is in the movie. There is a lot of scifi stuff going on, like pulse rifles and nanomites and robo armor. Having said all that, That Combat Heroes figure makes CC`s mask look like Jason X. And I have no problem with that. The overal design of the figure makes me think of the Battle Armor CC.

yeah yeah yeah, I don't post here often but I could not help myself with this. I am still keeping my hopes up and attempting not to turn into one of the fan boys like the G1 fans did with Transformers.

Too late! I know you Jason. :)

And I think both the RAH and G1-only fans have a lot to complain about. :) The stuff that worked 20 years ago isn't working as well now.

Regardless of opinions on his look now, I think the majority of people who'll enjoy the movie will be fine with the way they pull of CC in the movie (I'm sure they'll make the character work, regardless of design).

Just everyone keep in mind that so far in the movie, clip, and screen shots, all we've seen is the joes in black uniforms, and destro without a mask. These toys look like alot of them are different variations, possibly not seen in the movie, so everyone upset should just wait, lol but idk I hope he looks better in the movie.

His body actually reminds me of JVC wave 1 destro.

I can tolerate changing him to make him less goofy, but this is just too over the top for my taste. Transformers changed them to make them more complex and darker, looks to me like Joe is attempting to make things more silly in design.

The big question for me is , does that Duke represent the movie duke we have already seen or is there going to be one similiar to the vvv hummer driver?

My expectations for the movie are even lower now, the character formerly known as Cobra Commander.

While that would seem to make sense, it's unlikely they'd just introduce a completely new and unseen visual design element without it being motivated by the movie. If it's not from the movie somewhere, where is it coming from?

So then, in your pursuit to be "supportive to the GIJOE line"....it doesn't matter what the discussion is, if it's in regards to the new MOVIE, you're just going to rave about it and insult and mock those that might not? You don't seem so supportive of our rights to disagree, judge prematurely on it (in the negative) and even WORSE is your obvious hypocrisy over your so-called "support" when it only seems to be for the NEW movie stuff, whereas you don't seem too shy in putting down the OLD stuff?

Your shtick is starting to grate on the nerves here, like some fella called Admiral Snackbar use to do?

I would think if we were to dig into it, we'd probably find something, in some past movie toylines, was produced for the toyline that wasn't in the movie?

I don't get the movie makers

Why couldn't they has used his blue hood and give him a uniform instead of him wearing what looks like clothes from the 1700's

LOL funny how Walmart is putting the current Combat Heroes on clearance and possibly might carry these could be disasters

eh i can be an ass sometimes i admit. but when you get a lil' tired of the bitching. i mean comon they exspect the same thing of course there will be changes in the film. atleast they're trying to make a good film. but your right i should respect other people's opinions. but the fact is people dont like change. i figure since your a 12inch collector (i assume you are) might've not like the 3inch size joes. but as i said time and time again this film is basicly for kids and a new generation of fans, same with startrek and i tell ya my ex b/f still complains about it worse then the old foggies of the original series. then there is that dragon ball movie. i'm sure its hard to please fans. but then the creator of dragon ball says to think of it as a different dimention of dragonball universe.

so i usually think that GIJOE is a whole different universe. same goes for the transformers movie.

i'm just hoping the film makes alotof money for a sequal and te toyline sucessful for the GIJOE brand to keep on going.

There's a lot of reasons for it, and a lot of "logic" behind the changes--of course, depending on how you define logic.

Usually the reason is because, for whatever reason, the design recognize does not work as well on screen.

That is usually the hardest explanation to swallow, but it's often found to be true.

The other reason is primarily one of vanity or ego.......change for the sake of change.

There are dictums where the producers or directors call for change simply because they can, and because they want make the thing "theirs". Part of this happens because the director doesn't really respect the material, and part of it happens because the license holder ( in this case, Hasbro) actually says its okay to make the change. The idea is that a new visual interpretation expands the brand.

Just like the Ultimates expand the brand of the Avengers, by being a different take on something that is, well.........pretty much the same thing.

And besides, we are seeing ONE incarnation of the character, one costume.

Its clear now that the heroes have at least a couple of costume changes, so the villains could also stand to have the same. They might go this route, or they might just play the character like this toy design suggests. We'll know in July.
