  1. Some kinds of plastics are extremely resistant to paint no matter what you do. These are usually toughened waxy plastics/superhard plastics like polyoxymethylene that make up parts of a figure that could easily be stressed if made from the usual pvc or abs. The limbs of the Transformers Siege Battle Masters are made of this stuff and you need to color them, so what do you do? It's RIT DyeMore for synthetics to the rescue! Mix half the bottle of dye with a cup or so of water, boil the liquid on med to high heat just so you get a gentle rolling boil and drop your parts in. I like to suspend mine in a strainer so I can 'lift and look' to check the color. In under a minute the pieces will start to be dyed with a color that won't rub off! The longer you soak them the deeper the color. I tried this using Siege Aimless and Earthwise Soundbarrier with excellent results. I modded Soundbarrier so you can remove his ramp from his back and pop it back on. The RIT DyeMore works best on light colored plastic and will easily change one color to another such as Aimless' light blue body to a deep red. I've created different color-match Battle Masters now that you can pair up with Transformers like Hound, Grapple, the Predacons, and more! Also I created Spinister's Targematers Fracas and Shrute using the DyeMore Pink, violet and Graphite dyes. They were then primered with Bulldog Adhesion promoter, painted using Testors Fantasy Armor set lacquers (metalizers), and sealed with Mr Hobby premium spray sealer. Seeing as how these two are impossible to find outside of the $200+ set, why not make your own? For more pics head to their pages here: Dyeformers Fracas and Shrute
  2. Let's take a trip into the Star Wars universe and envision what if Luke Skywalker appeared in an episode of the Mandalorian during season 2? Well here's my take on Luke as he continues his training as a Jedi and finds himself investigating the appearance of what he believes is an old armored foe... Luke was created using an old Luke body, parts of ML Karl Mordo, and a Trash Compactor Luke head. He was primered using Bulldog Adhesion promoter, painted with Testors acryl and airbrush paint, and sealed with Mr Hobby Premium Flat spray sealer for a factor finished look. Luke comes with three hands, black gloved, robotic, and metal fist. He has a unique Jedi garb and removable cloak, blaster that magnetically attaches to his belt, lightsaber and X-wing helmet. For more pictures of Luke head to his page here: Custom Luke Skywalker "Mandalorian Encounter" ------------------------------------------------------ This week I've created Skywarp in Bumblebee-movie-syle similar to the Starscream I made earlier. The body is a Nitro Zeus/KSI Boss mold and a Shapeways shop Ariel's Customs Seeker faceplate on a Titans Return headmaster. I shortened the kneeplates, added toes, and swapped out the neck gatling guns/wrist cannon for different blaster tips to differentiate him from Starscream. Skywarp was primered with Bulldog (or Duplicolor) Automotive Adhesion Promoter, painted with Testors Metalizer and Aztek Airbrush paints, and sealed with Mr Hobby Premium flat/gloss spray sealer for a factory finished look. He transforms the same and the headmaster can fly in the cockpit! Warp on over to his page here for more pictures: Skywarp, Bumblebee movie concept
  3. Here's a nifty custom of Metal gear Solid's Raiden with an armor-upgrade feature. He was created using the hasbro Overwatch Genji body and Revoltech Raiden head (with moving eyeball!), various armor fodder pieces, new sword blade attached to the Genji sword hilt, and a piece together combat rifle. You can customize his armor loadout and even equip him with a riot shield. Raiden was painted using Testors Metalizer Lacquers, primered with Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, and sealed with Mr Hobby Premium spray sealer. For more pics take a look at his page here: Custom Metal Gear Solid Raiden --------------------------------------------------------- Many years ago I created a Cop-Out custom and after finding another Dirt Boss decided to give it another go! This time I preserved the exhaust-flip feature and used a Combiner Wars Rook head. Cop Out was primered with Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, painted with gloss lacquer, and Testors Metalizer metallics. He comes with a blaster, baton, and yes his lights flash like my original one! You can pop off his chest and switch the lights to on for a nifty red/blue flashing effect just like a real police car. For more flashy pics hit up his page here: Custom Transformers Cop-Out
  4. Ready for something really unique? Here's a Transformers/Marvel Legends Crossover Bludgeon! He was created using the Silver Samurai body and heavily modded helmet, Ghost Rider head, War Machine armor/forearms, TF Hoist shoulder for the backpack, Overwatch Reaper legs, KO TF Scrapper top for the shield, and some fodder parts. Bludgeon was primered with Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, sculpted sections using Aves Fixit Sculpt, hand painted, airbrushed metallic armor effects, and sealed with Mr Hobby premium Matte. His eyes are glass reflective and he has a 5mm port in his left arm. For more pics head to his page here: Pretender Bludgeon, Marvel Legends/Transformers crossover
  5. The Age of Apocalypse Holocaust (Nemesis) Build-A-Figure would have been amazing if Hasbro hadn't painted over its clear plastic with solid yellow paint! It took quire a few hours and a bottle of acetone to carefully remove the opaque paint. Fortunately I was able to restore the clear look to the armor and used Tamiya clear yellow, orange, and red to shade and add bubbles to it. The canopy was given a ball joint hinge in the back so you could spin it around out of the way and the shoulder pads were ball jointed as well for maximum poseability! I also hollowed out the weird vents of his left arm cannon and filled in those for a smoother look. For more pics head to his page here: AoA Holocaust
  6. Chromed for your protection! Here's a TMNT Chrome Dome created to mirror the vintage figure's style that I created using a Spiderman Beetle (or Ultron) body, Iron Man lower arms, Spiderverse Prowler hands, noodle soup Taskmaster feet, and Darkhawk wings. Pieces of the original Chrome Dome were worked into the sculpt like the head, chest, and removable belt. Other details were sculpted using Aves Studio's Apoxie Sculpt grey color. The figure was primed with Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, hand painted/airbrushed and then sealed with Mr Hobby Premium sealer. For more pics hit up his page here: Custom TMNT Chrome Dome
  7. He's an intergalactic arms dealing mechanical menace and part of the Combaticons team, enter Decepticon Swindle! Here I bring you a nifty Transformers Siege style Swindle to add to your action figure collection. Swindle was made from a Siege Hound mold and the Combiner Wars Swindle head, tho I had to remove a bit of his crest to get it to fold down into the hood gap. An arm cannon was built up from pieces, the barrel from Hound's gun swapped out, and Swindle completely repainted in the Siege paint-scuffed theme. Sealed with Mr Hobby Premium Top Coat Swindle can transform and looks legit in both modes! For more pics of this dastardly Decepticon head here: Siege Swindle
  8. When an army of unstoppable shiny silver T800 Endoskeletons can't defeat the human resistance there's only one thing for Skynet to do....create a purple one with horns and hip-blasters! Ah yes the golden years of Kenner Toys gave us some amazing designs, some a bit more interesting than others such as the endoskeleton Kromium from their vintage Terminator Future War line. While I wasn't able to incorporate the extending feature the vintage toy had (there's not much plastic to work with using a plain Endo) I tried to get him as close as I could to the original design! Kromium was made using a classic NECA Endoskeleton, BAF Odin horns, Cylon/Iron Man/Star Wars/Halo/Gundam/Transformers and scratch built sections to complete his armored-up look. I used Testors Aztek Airbrush paints (brushed on) and he was entirely shaded using The Army Painter's Quickshade wash sets and sealed using Mr Hobby Mr Top Coat semigloss Premium sealer. For more pics head to his page here: Custom Kromium Terminator figure
  9. Straight out of Shonen Jump's manga comes my newest custom, Space Adventure Cobra created in Marvel Legends scale! Classic Cobra was created from a Red Guardian body, Whirlwind lower arms, Ultron forearm, wrestling head with modded Starlord hair, and various fodder parts/belts. He comes with a removable Psychogun arm, Lady Cobra revolver, multiple hands, and cigar! For more out of this world pics, head to his page here: Space Adventure Cobra figure
  10. Ready for some retro Foot-clan action? Here's a 6" scale Foot Soldier that's decked out like the original vintage toy! This Foot Soldier was created using an Neca TMNT cartoon Shredder, vintage transforming Foot Soldier head/arm guards, and Aves Studio's Apoxie Clay to sculpt the vest as well as fill holes and add detail. The tunic was trimmed, new hands added, and the vintage toy's mace and Shell-Biter staff refitted. Foot Soldier even comes with a big ol' commando knife, roof top base, and is painted just like the vintage toy! For more pictures of this custom head here: NECA Style Vintage Foot Soldier
  11. Stalking the junkyard of Ord Mantell comes the fearsome assassin droid/bounty hunter IG-88! I wasn't satisfied with the level of articulation the Black series had so I decided to fix him up. A tilt joint was added to his neck in order to make his head taller and allow him to look up and down. IG88's hip swivels were replaced with the smallest revoltech joint so he can widen his stance and his elbow grommets cut and modded allowing for 90 deg motion. All the short wires on his legs were removed and replaced with longer flexible ones. 88 was then given the full metallic and weathered repaint treatment and an Ord Mantell junkyard base created from the Luke Skywalker Hoth centerpiece. A couple of blast effects later and this assassin droid was ready to tear up the bounty hunter scene! To hunt down a bounty of pics head to his page here: Ig-88 Assassin Droid on Ord Mantell base
  12. "Stories were told to Eternia children of the Lost World of the Warlord where heroes and monsters battled underground for supremacy...except they were more than just stories. Subternia held the key to linking both worlds with Skullman emerging ready to conquer all who opposed him. But wait, the surface of Eternia was already claimed by....another skull-faced Villain? Skullman and Skeletor were instant foes for there can be only one bone-headed barbarian in Eternia!" Ready for something retro? This week I've created SKullman from the vintage Remco Warrior Beasts line using a Red Onslaught head, basic MotUC body, Snout Spout feet, Skeleton warrior hands, Darius lower arms, and DCM Reaper cape. I also painted up Reaper's head to resemble the hooded first release of Skullman before they swapped to the straight skull release. He comes with a bow and sword just like the original did but this time he has a detailed modern style! For more skeletal pics head to his page here: /url]
  13. "When it comes to crypts that needs exploring, ancient ruins that need discovering, or tribal warlords that need battling, none are better equipped than Radd-Venture. This mysterious man of action intends to explore every inch of Eternia using his rocket boots to propel him over dangerous chasms and power-whips to disarm traps. What's this? Skeletor is searching for an ancient gem of power? Radd-Venture is already in the tomb and has raided the treasure! For historical purposes of course." Here's another original custom creation for your Masters of the Universe Classics collection, Radd-Venture, Eternian explorer! Radd was created using a Rio-Blast body, Darius head, Saurod lower legs, Eldor shirt, Playmotion Ultron tendrils, Cad Bane gun parts, and creech wrist blasters for the jet boots. I wanted an Indiana Jones themed character and even gave him a satchel to complete the look. His shirt is removable and you can swap the power whips/pistols out between his wrist ports.
